Relaxing Rustic Retreat with Views

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 2 days ago

Scenic views of the Malibu Pier and beach…with a cozy rustic feel to its accommodations…food and service is impeccable. Only downfall is there is no gym…but Historic Adamson House and Lagoon “trail”; as well as shopping within walking distance.

The rooms are absolutely stunning. We have stayed in 3 different room types and they are all magnificent. We sleep with the balcony door open all night as the ocean provides the most perfect soundtrack for sleeping. The staff is amazing and food is delicious. Don’t think twice about staying at the Malibu Beach Inn!

Perfection

We loved our stay! We love carbon beach and normally stay at an Airbnb - but this was a wonderful change for us!! The Malibu Beach Inn had anticipated everything you could possibly want or need! You cannot beat the view. The food was amazing. Such a relaxing stay!

Beautiful!

Really enjoyed our time here. Didn't go in the water but wandered up and down the beach enjoying the scenery. Lots of people round, so be prepared to struggle for parking. We were at the Malibu Pier, where it is very busy. It may be quieter further north.

Depends on Your Room Assignment

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 1 month ago

Whether or not you enjoy your stay is solely determined by the discretion of the room assignment (and if you don’t mind cold weak water pressure showers). Positives:” ocean front” is literally on the water. Amazing views. High end Toto washlet makes you remember that trip to Tokyo (seriously: other high end hotels why don’t you offer this!). Comfortable bed. Neutrals: Restaurant food was decidedly mixed. Ahi poke was fresh and flavorful…lobster roll was essentially mayo and bread. Since there aren’t a ton of options, I would like the restaurant to be better. Negatives: unfortunately we were given room 206, which means you get to hear the restaurant patrons if your door is open and they will be staring at you if you go out on your deck to enjoy the view (ie the entire reason why you are staying here!). The shower has really poor water pressure and doesn’t get hot enough. As a bonus annoyance, there is not much soundproofing between floors so made the folks above us sound like they were regularly moving the furniture. If you must stay in Malibu the location is amazing, but the hotel doesn’t meet the price point demanded for the experience (tho perhaps it is better if you aren’t stuck with the restaurant to interfere with your view).

We spent three nights in at the Malibu Beach Inn - it was difficult to get my husband to leave! Sunrise and sunsets were magnificent! At night we were lulled to sleep by the lapping waves of the Pacific.
