3 year Wedding Anniversary to Miami-South Beach

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 8 hours ago

My wife and I visited South Beach, celebrating our 3rd wedding anniversary. We stopped into The Betsy (a few nights) for an espresso martini and live piano music. The ambiance was relaxing and Art the Concierge was amazing, friendly and very helpful in pointing out the “must see places” in Little Havana. Highly recommend The Betsy and Art, The Concierge!! -SB

Great location on Ocean drive and the beach. Beautiful lobby and rooms, and nice amenities. Very charming. Fritzner and Driss at the Front Desk were wonderful handling our special requests. The service is outstanding. Also convenient valet service for cars.

Great stay at The Betsy

This is one of the most exquisite hotels I have stayed in. The staff are perfection so solicitous and helpful. Shout out to Esme and Fritz for their help. I have stayed here twice now and each has been perfect. A must for a third visit, I can’t wait to come back.

Worth going to Miami just to stay there

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 2 weeks ago

Honestly, I'm not that crazy about South Beach, but I'd go back just to stay at the Betsy. It's an entire experience of its own. It began when we checked in and the super kind, helpful man upgraded us to an oceanfront room ( we would definitely do this ourselves next time: well worth it), and when we got up there, it was a whole suite with a fabulous view of the water. We had our own little sitting room which is very nice when 1 person is tired and wants to go to bed and the other wants to sit up and read a little bit. The bathroom was huge. I mean immense. Like you can rack up steps between the shower controls and the shower head. But lying in bed and watching the water was the piece de resistance. We were on our way somewhere so we decided to eat in. We went downstairs and had a drink in the palmy bar, feeling very old Florida and like maybe we'd wandered into a 40's movie, with excellent people-watching and even better cocktails. Live music, not so loud you couldn't talk-- super romantic. Bring your seersucker suit and your slinky gown, if you like, or not. Zero stuffiness. Someone there had his 3 dogs with him (this may have been the owner. We were told that this hotel is owned by a family, not a corporation). We ate in the hotel and had excellent service by waiter Aziz and excellent service by wine steward Victor. Never snooty, always solicitous, ready with suggestions when we asked for them. One particular kindness was gracious, even approving, acceptance when I didn't want an entree (one gets full quickly after a certain age) but ordered a salad instead. The housekeeping was ostentatiously elegant: bathmats meticulously placed on the floor in front of each sink, towels folded with notable precision. The next morning we asked the concierge for recommendations for restaurants and he guided us to authentic cuban food nearby. When we remarked on the incredible service, he said the housekeepers, managers, and all the staff have worked there for 15+ years. Nobody wants to leave. It's a family business that takes care of its family. I wish I could remember the names of the rest of the people who were so outstandingly kind and helpful, but I lost the card on which I wrote them. But the point is that if you want to leave South Beach feeling you've had a vacation into some better past, where everything is elegant and clean and works great and tastes great and nobody has a cross word and everyone's job is to make you and everyone else feel special and valued, stay here. Make a special trip to stay here. We plan to.

Great time at the Betsy

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 2 weeks ago

The Betsy is a funky boutique hotel that makes you feel welcome the moment you arrive. We had the pleasure of meeting the owner (JP) who shared some history of the property and introduced us to his 2 dogs (Betsy & Rosa). Several of the hotel staff went above and beyond. Special shout out to Art (Concierge), Juan (Bellman) and Adrian, Carmen & Gustavo (Bartenders) who made our stay memorable. Thanks for a great time!
