About the Hotel

There's an unmistakable air of Magic City in the five-star design of Mandarin Oriental Miami. Palm-shaded cabanas are just as glamorous as they are in South Beach, but with the added allure of seclusion granted by a private beach club on tony Brickell Key. Three floors of the resort are dedicated to Mandarin Oriental’s signature spa treatments, and it’s also home to the only North American location of Chinese luxury brand Shanghai Tang.

Reviews for Mandarin Oriental, Miami

Winter break

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 3 days ago

The property feels dated compared to some of the other options in Miami. Staff were friendly and tried their best to accommodate our requests. Breakfast can be crowded and having to wait ten minutes to be seated not ideal. Hotel guests should have priority over non hotel guests.

Best hotel

Everyone was very helpful and wonderful from the time we arrived at the front to leaving. I have a service animal and they endured the balcony was safe for her and included dog bowls and a bed. The service is always impeccable here. We are sad to not have this hotel soon as it Renovates.

Great location, great facilities, responsive team.

We had a wonderful stay again in our second home. The team were very attentive and responsive. Everything that we asked for was accommodated. Service ethos runs throughout the hotel. Good to see Sebastian Irrgang, front office manager again and experience his cheery welcome!

Disappointed In MO Miami

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 3 weeks ago

I have just checked out after a one-night stay, and unfortunately, this was by far the worst Mandarin Oriental property I have ever stayed in. Having experienced their hotels worldwide, I would be embarrassed to call this a 5-star establishment or even part of their brand. I later discovered that the tower is set to be demolished and replaced in May, and frankly, I can see why. Upon arrival, I was greeted politely, but I found it odd that I had to fetch my own welcome drink. I was then informed that my room was ready, but when I entered, it was still full of cleaning supplies and had not been set up. After reporting this to reception before heading out for the afternoon, the receptionist made a phone call, but no further effort was made to acknowledge or rectify the issue. During check-out, I was not once asked about my stay, but I didn’t bother bringing it up as I had already endured a terrible breakfast experience. The server appeared embarrassed by the service and mentioned that the manager would come over—she never did. My table was not properly set, and while other guests around me received what they requested promptly, I felt completely ignored. My eggs took over 30 minutes to arrive, by which time I had already asked the server to cancel them, as my toast had gone cold and I had eaten other items from the buffet. My coffee was served, but the server spilt it, promised to clean it up, and never did. I had to ask three times for a spoon to stir my coffee and waited over 15 minutes for more milk. Had breakfast not been included with my Amex FHR booking, I certainly wouldn’t have paid for it. To make matters worse, the manager happened to be at the pay desk when I left breakfast, and I told her about my experience. She acknowledged that the server had informed her but never once asked me directly about the issues. Her lack of concern was evident, making the situation even more disappointing. I paid over $600 for one night and feel completely ripped off. The hotel room was in poor condition—the shower door wouldn’t close properly, causing water to flood the floor, which led to me slipping several times. When I mentioned this to the receptionist that afternoon, she simply responded with a dismissive “OK, thanks for letting us know.” This hotel is in desperate need of an upgrade, and I would not return in its current state. Perhaps after it is rebuilt, I would consider giving it another chance. However, I left feeling that I would have been better off booking elsewhere. The manager at breakfast showed no concern—she seemed more interested in getting me to sign the bill than addressing any issues. Most of the staff were lovely, but the overall experience was severely let down by poor management and substandard facilities. My advice? Avoid this property until the rebuild is complete. As a long-time fan of Mandarin Oriental, this was a major disappointment—though I will say, their beds remain excellent!

Can't go wrong staying here

This hotel is pretty close to perfect. The rooms are beautifully appointed, the service is lovely and the views are amazing. It is a shame that the hotel is closing in May to make way for a new facility as the hotel is lovely as is! It is also nicely situated and very close to the Miami business and shopping areas
