The Oberoi Vanyavilas, Ranthambhore

This was one of our favorite hotels on the trip. It is quiet and has a colonial ambiance from days gone by. The manager is excellent and the staff is really on top of things (other than the error in correctly transmitting my name so we could efficiently enter the Rathambore Park – see that review for details). Lodging is in the form of individual tent villas. They’re very comfortable, air conditioned and private. Each villa is a short walk from the main lodge. The food was very good. The gym is rather small but I was the only one using it. Lots of butterflies and other wildlife on the property make the place feel truly wild. If you have time, the hotel has a nice pool as well. The Vanyavilas is an excellent place to serve as your base of operations near the park.

From the warm welcome at reception to the spectacular New Year's Eve celebration, the breathtaking tower experience and the exciting tiger safari - where we were lucky enough to spot three - every moment was exceptional. Our stay at your hotel set a new benchmark for hospitality. Having visited many renowned hotels around the world, we can confidently say that the Oberoi stands out, and it is with enthusiasm that we will recommend your establishment to our friends, family and all those who read these lines. The General Manager, Ms. Ratna Malhotra, is an incredible person, and during our stay we felt like we were in a second family. If she reads this, she'll understand 🥰✨ and surely approve and smile. A special note of thanks to the housekeeping and catering team, especially Rohit and Mani Raj, for their unfailing support and prompt service. The naturalist Mr. Sameer was also so kind and full of great wildlife stories. He accompanied us to the tiger safari 🐅 and the crocodile spot🐊. A stunning property with amazing staff. I don't think the word "no" exists in the vocabulary of the people who work at Vanya Vilas. Everyone who works there has a sense of ownership and seems like they are personally hosting you in their home. It makes for an unparalleled travel experience. Needless to stay the rooms, property, food and amenities are outstanding as one has come to expect from the Vilas properties - though I feel this one was special even when compared to the rest.

Everyone was so nice and accommodating, and the service was excellent. We really enjoyed the abundance of activities that were kid-friendly and interesting. Our guides, Sameer and Meena were very informed and their English was very good. I really enjoyed the spa , and the tents were a unique place to stay. The waitstaff, especially Ailswarya (spelling?) and Adithye (spelling?) who introduced us to several new Rajasthani dishes. Our kids got a stocking on Christmas and were very happy. Thanks so much for an amazing trip.

What a privilege to stay at this luxury boutique hotel. It was the highlight of our trip around Rajasthan. The hotel is on the edge of Ranthambore national park. The 20 acre estate is stunning - beautifully manicured grounds with flowers everywhere. Our tent (it seems wrong to call them that) was large. beautiful, supremely comfortable and as well appointed as any 5 star hotel room. The food was delicious - the menu very extensive, ranging from International to local cuisine. Oberoi’s wonderful hospitality and service culture is well known - here it was truly exceptional - they simply took care of everything, including organizing our tiger safari ( and yes we saw three!). Perhaps it is because the resort is small - just 24 tents - the service felt very personal. We met the General Manager, Ratna Malhotra on a few occasions during our stay. Her warmth, passion and enthusiasm has clearly been picked up by the whole team there. I think this hotel sets the hospitality standard for whole Oberoi group. I would highly recommend it for anyone contemplating a trip to Ranthambhore.
