Huntley Santa Monica Beach

This is a lovely hotel on street back from the beach. Rooms were large, bright, extremely clean and super comfortable bed and pillows. Walking distance to everything Santa Monica offers and the Penthouse bar offered fabulous views. The staff were super obliging to all requests and happy! Highly recommend this hotel.

Two times now the beautiful Huntley and its amazing staff was sold short by maintenance issues. Stay one we experienced a ceiling leak while in a rainstorm. We chalked it up to bad timing and weather. No worries… stay two. We had to sleep with the lights on because of the lightning technology even maintenance couldn’t fix the issue. The staff and service is the best. Too bad it’s not comfortable to stay here.

This is an interesting hotel. Im not totally sure how to rate it (as a 3 or 4) so going with a 4 as there is room for improvement at this hotel. Hotel staff (from valet to front desk): VERY welcoming. Valet attendants were readily available, courteous, and quick in retrieving our vehicle! Parking entrance: low ceilings. Beware if you have a tall vehicle. Lobby: Nicely designed however the lower ceilings don’t make it feel as “grandios”(sp) as other hotels. Not a big deal just something that caught my attention. Room: there was a strike of awe when we first entered the room but found some areas that needed improvements: Patrons in next door room could be heard through the adjoining door. There was no sound barriers; Plumbing clean out was sticking outside of the wall next to bad. Tacky; Water leak from our shower to room directly below! No pan below the tiles? How that is possible in a fairly new looking hotel is beyond me. Location: great location. One block from beach. One block from Promenade and main strip. Walking distance to many restaurants in the area. No issues with homeless outside of hotel nor any security concerns from what I could see. Pool: did not use Penthouse restaurant/club: did not visit I would stay at this location again however highly recommend they correct issues with their rooms (at least the one I stayed in on the 3rd floor).

From the moment we walked in, we were greeted with smiles. Greta chatted with the us and gave us a wonderful room with a view of both the ocean and the mountains. She also gave us some great advice about the hot tub and the car service available to us. Both made our stay so much more enjoyable. The Penthouse breakfast was the perfect start to our day. Our room was well appointed with plush robes, luxurious linens, and smart lighting. The entire staff was extremely attentive. Shops and restaurants are all within walking distances. I will stay at the Huntley again ASAP.

The entire staff was super friendly for my son and I on our short stay. We were able to take the bikes out in the morning and ride down the beach. So many walkable places to go for food or entertainment. Look forward to returning and getting to try the restaurant and other amenities offered by the hotel.
