Hubby and I visited Mkuze Private Game lodge , a week ago. We stayed over 2 nights and it beat all of our expectations..from the food ,hospitality, service ,atmosphere and boy o boy that view from the deck...the absolute best !! We were welcomed by Sihle (reservations) Sipho (game ranger) and out waitress (I feel awful for not remembering her name) from the time we arrived we were met with big welcoming smiles and waves, we felt right at home.. the waitress, I wish I could remember her name , was so pleasent and welcoming..she ensured we always had our meals on time ...omg ...the food is absolutely delicious, definitely a 10/10 ...Thulani (at the bar) ensured we were never thirsty 😉 he's stories of the area and reserve had us entertained and wanting to know and learn more ...as there are 2 game drives a day, Sipho went above and beyond to ensure we had an amazing drive and tracked the animals prints to the point that led us to lions , elephants ,cheetah to name a few ..this is excluding having the privilege to see zebras ,giraffes, wildebeest, impalas, kudus, baboons, crocodiles, rhino, hippos and many different species of birds Hes knowledge of animals is like that of no other ..he is so friendly and humble and ensured we were having a good time always.. pictures and videos don't do justice to this hidden gem ..it is well worth the 4 hour drive from Durban... If youre looking to spend time in nature ...look no further!!! Ps..going into winter...please carry a warm jacket and gloves for the morning game drives as it does get abit nippy

We enjoyed a wonderful stay at Mkuze Falls Lodge. The staff was exceptional and the food was amazing. Our compliments to the chef for the wonderful meals we were treated to. Special mention goes to our guide Sipho who provided above-and-beyond game drive experiences and additional information to round out our learnings of the area and its special wildlife - from animals to trees, birds and the history of the area. We enjoyed a restful and peaceful stay at stunning Mkuze.

Thoroughly enjoyed the whole Mkuze Falls experience. The views from the chalet were exceptional. Undoubtably the highlight of the whole trip was the game drives with Sipho. He really was phenomenal and made every effort for us to see everything (which we did). Amazing human and we are very thankful for the time spent being mentored by him about the wildlife in the reserve.

it was lovely!!! I cab say a lot.... Lodge was fine, food was soso.... they should offer a bit more options for the price they are asking, but it was ok! Game drives were fine, real african experience as there were not a lot of game drive vehicles in the park.

Highly disappointing experience ! This lodge is situated in an ideal setting but unfortunately the lodge itself is utterly dilapidated , unloved and zero maintenance . To name just a few issues , we were told no hot chocolate available , their ponchos are barely effective against the rain as they are old and the lodge was still waiting for new ones . We were served up frozen bread at breakfast time to put into the toaster . The baths in the rooms were peeling and terribly uninviting and when it came to the wine option , there was only one on offer !! All of the above is marginally acceptable perhaps at a price of R1000 a person a night , NOT R3000 plus a person . I am really annoyed we paid the amount we did and were offered up substandard accommodation and a terribly run lodge … I am told in a week or two the lodge changes hands which makes it even worse that they willing to charge us these rates - knowing the lodge is verging collapse right before its renewed . If anyone plans on going there BEFORE it’s redone - think again …

We had a fantastic time at Mkuze Falls Private Game Reserve. Everyone was really helpful and made us feel incredibly welcome. It was all fantastic! I don't think they could have done anything more to make our stay any better.

The highlight of my trip to Africa was the safari at Mkuze Falls. We have stayed at many five-star hotels, but none match the level of service and friendliness of the staff at Mkuze Falls. They anticipated our every need, but did so in a totally unpretentious manner. We were also thrilled with the variety of animals we encountered on our game drives and walks, including lions, rhinos, elephants, hippos and giraffes, to mention just a few.

My husband and I just returned from a month's vacation in South Africa and purchased the 3-night safari package at Mkuze Falls. We had an absolutely fantastic time at this incredibly beautiful property. Our experience surpassed our expectations for this wonderful safari. Everything from the staff, food, accommodations and animal drives was five-star first class. We recommend this vacation with great enthusiasm!

This is the BEST value for a safari on LuxuryLink! Rustic luxury and a warm atmosphere with excellent service! We took a 4 night package that gave us enough time to relax, as well as taking in all the game drives and activities. Great property - great buy!
