Amazingly beautiful location, with outstanding staff and customer service. We felt welcomed from the first moment. We had some issues with our original room, but the next day we were moved to a beautiful casita (HIGHLY recommend) which definitely improved our overall experience. We stayed during what we learned was the last week before closing for the season, which resulted in some limitations at the restaurant as well as the available excursions and related amenities, such as the outdoor pool- which was closed. As a result, we used the resort as basecamp for excursions outside of the area, although we did do some hiking on resort property. We hope to return during the "in season" period to explore all that the resort might have to offer. We did wish that there were planned "off season" learning experiences- even native art, culinary or other creative explorations that are not weather dependent. We feel that that there is significant untapped potential. This resort is for sale! We wish we could pursue...

My family and I booked this trip as a pre-thanksgiving getaway and it was amazing! Just perfect for what we were looking for, amazing views, hikes, and national parks close by for day trips! Lindsey at the front desk was so accommodating and helped us get the perfect room for our stay, we ended up getting the casita which came with both a hot tub and fire pit!! Ronald at the front desk was very helpful when we arrived late to check in, we followed him to our room so we didn’t get lost, his extra efforts were much appreciated! Ryan came right away to help with our fire pit and ensured it worked properly for our stay, he remembered us by name and made us feel like family. We had a spa day which was phenomenal. The spa coordinator gave an unmatchable massage it took everything in us not to get another one the next day!! Molly at the restaurant gave us amazing recommendations from day one and we felt so welcomed everyday coming in for a meal. Everyone had the best hospitality and it was the perfect getaway for our family, definitely add it to your list!

I live in the Southwest and wanted to find a relaxing spot in CO or Utah where there might be some spectacular views of fall trees and red rocks. Had Moab in mind but this popped up when I searched for Moab. The views and the resort grounds are absolutely beautiful. We booked their lowest-price room which was large, quiet, comfortable (w fridge and wet bar) and, most importantly, had a fabulous view. We were there to hike and enjoy the views, so we did not use the spa or participate in any of the offered activities (horseback riding, jeep trips, archery…) We did use the restaurant which was pleasant and reasonably priced — which is important because there are no restaurants nearby.

What a beautiful place. the fall colors were amazing. Off season and the main dining and 2nd pool were closed. The food in the restaurant is reasonably priced (especially considering you are "stuck" there), and is exceptional! Will return!

Pros; Hotel room was very nice, the property beautiful, and the staff around the hotel were super friendly. It was a great place to spend time with family. Variety of hikes nearby and the property grounds are well maintained. Cons; in general, an expensive getaway for what was offered. Numerous additional fees in final bill, some of which were not disclosed ahead of time. The 18% additional resort fee was known, but seemed expensive for much of the resort not being operational during our stay. Be aware that car museum, spa, and activity center are not open everyday (beginning of the week was not a great time to go). Currently one of the two pool areas was open and there is one dinner restaurant available (our experience was that it was ok, not amazing).

I'm a fifth-generation Coloradan, am a stalwart fan of Gate Gateway Canyons for multiple reasons, and this year's visit was the 5th year for our family. The first included my father and his nurse/companion when Gateway was just being built. Every time we go, I am further impressed with the integrity with which this vision was conceived and is being carried out. I speak with staff when I visit and every single staff member is consistent: The place is wonderful, the seasonal activities are fun, and they love the area and the vision for Gateway. All this by way of saying that I truly appreciate the hard work and emphasis on a private yet comprehensive experience on the Dolores near the Colorado Plateau.

I just wanted to take a minute to write about what a wonderful facility Gateway Canyons is. The accommodations were beautiful, food was fantastic and the staff was great to work with. We received an informative tour of the museum and they even helped us find the game in the Kiva Café Sunday morning. We told ourselves we would get up there from the day I toured with the VCB and it just didn't happen. I'm sorry we waited so long but it was well worth it. I'm glad to see the project continuing to grow given the economy. Thank you again for a fabulous getaway!
