Promised quiet, relaxing stay - experienced the opposite. 0/10 would not recommend

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 2 months ago

My spouse and I (and FIL) stayed here this week. The resort and rooms are gorgeous. It’s a lovely view and area, and we were truly excited for our quiet little getaway here… until about an hour into check in. Unfortunately on the Saturday night of our stay there was a wedding party, with extremely loud music & bass from 5pm going on until 11:45pm or so. When we first asked the front desk staff about how long the party was planning to end, they told us 11pm was cut-off, then it turned into 11:30… and onward. I see this is a common occurrence here in other reviews. I’d highly recommend in the future you let your guests know when such an event is planned, to give some warning. It would give people a chance to decide if this is the kind of stay they’re looking for. The total lack of communication is pretty frustrating for people that have signed up for: “Every room is quiet and relaxing with jetted tubs & fireplaces standard in any of our room options. We love kids - however, Brentwood Bay Resort is your quiet oasis away from them.” I think I’d prefer the kids. TL/DR: Gorgeous spot, nice tubs and had the potential to be the quiet, relaxing getaway they boasted. Unfortunately ruined by their choice to host obnoxiously loud parties.

Summer Visit to Brentwood Bay

A great stay at this boutique Resort! We stayed in a 2nd floor / one bedroom suite with hot tub on the balcony. Great views of Brentwood Bay & Marina, the Mill Bay Ferry & the grounds. The Resort includes a great restaurant, Spa, Pool & Hot Tub and for every day dining a family friendly Pub with outdoor patio & Bay views. Room service was also available.

Comfortable & Enjoyable

This was a last minute booking after we arrived at Victoria Airport. We could not get 2 nights in a row but enjoyed the one we spent here. When we checked in they gave us a choice of ciders which was unexpected. It was a chilly and rainy summer day and we were very glad they had a busy pub as well as a lovely dining room so we could eat in. We enjoyed both of them, one for dinner and one for breakfast. Our room was immaculately clean with a ground level patio. It was very comfortable with nice marina views and we enjoyed the fireplace since we live in Phoenix.

Stick with the chicken burger

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 4 months ago

We live across the bay and decided to try the pub for dinner My wife's chicken on bun was fine. The cauliflower wings were pretty bad as the cauliflower was mush, totally without texture. The yam and avocado sushi was a wipeout The rice had the same consistency as the glue paste we made in kindergarden out of flour and water. As avocados are expensive right now, it was yam sushi with a tiny bit of avocado. The beer was good and cold, though.

Nice views, but needs updating

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 5 months ago

For the price, we were disappointed in our stay here. Our room on the top floor had a nice view, so we know that is mostly what we paid for, but the rooms are starting to show their age and could use a remodel. The layout felt cramped and there were no convenient charging areas near the nightstands. The bed was probably the most uncomfortable bed I have ever slept in. The mattress was way past its useful life and had zero support. I am not a large person, but I felt like I was sleeping in a hole. It did not make for a restful night's sleep. On the plus side, it is quiet and the food was good. The balcony was also nice and clean.

Have been here twice - wonderful place. Take the boat to the gardens. The food and spa are both terrific, and it's very romantic if you are with someone special.
