The moment you arrive at Cap Maison Resort & Spa, located on the sublime island of Saint Lucia, you will feel as if you are a privileged castaway. The natural beauty and airbrushed ocean bluff setting is what makes this hideaway a true standout. The design is equal parts rustic and refined, coupled with Spanish-Caribbean flair. Behind a collection of white-washed structures are one, two and three-bedroom suites with varied floor plans that include split-level designs, spacious bedrooms and private rooftop pools. Folding doors push back to seamlessly mix the outside with the indoors. As for the views and service, both are deserving of high marks. The gardens are beautifully manicured and the secluded sandy beach, which rests several feet below, seems practically deserted even when the resort is at full capacity.

Where do I start, I found this venue on online when researching places to propose whilst in St Lucia. I knew within 5 minutes of arriving that I’d made the right choice. During the lead up the team were absolutely fantastic at helping to arrange everything, even after I made a mistake with the date they moved things around to fit us in. I booked the Rock Maison area which is a private deck sat just down from the main restaurant and the location, views and set up on the deck were absolutely perfect. The food was absolutely fantastic and the service throughout the meal was 5* Can’t thank the team at Cap Maison enough for making this special occasion so special. I highly recommend booking for any special occasion.

Descriptions and other reviews do not lie. This is a premiere resort with superlative accommodations and service. Setting is spectacular. Most "rooms" have ocean views, as far as I could tell. I put quotes around "rooms" because they are more like individual villas. Ours had two levels. The first floor included a full kitchen, full bath, generous seating, and a wide veranda facing the Caribbean. Not air conditioned because it is basically open unless you close the shuttered doors. In fact, birds fly in and out of the room. The second level (19 steps up) is the bedroom suite level. Beautifully appointed (air conditioned), full bath, walk-in closet, room-wide doors opening onto a beautiful covered veranda. The resort is beautifully designed and landscaped. The main house includes a modestly but completely outfitted fitness room, spa, small shop, and an unattended coffee/wine room where you help yourself on the honor system. One note about dinners: make reservations at both restaurants before you arrive for your stay through the concierge or reservationist. The Cliff at Cap is the resort's main restaurant, not sure if it's open to the public, or not. The setting is beautiful and is completely open to the sea. Food and service are top notch. The menu selections did not change while we were there. The most memorable dish for me was the Short Ribs. I've never tasted anything that good and I'm a short ribs connoisseur. Food presentations were almost like works of art. Wine and spirits prices were surprisingly realistic (not cheap) for the location. Live music accompanied dinner on some nights. The Naked Fisherman is located on the beach below the resort, 92 steps down! It's your typical beach restaurant with thatched roofs, plank wood and sand floors, and a more casual party-type atmosphere. Food is absolutely fantastic. I had barbecue ribs and mac and cheese that were amazing. The salads are robust and filling, definitely enough for lunch, perhaps shareable as a starter course for dinner. Beach is clean and the water clear with very little surf. On the cliff, there are two modestly sized swimming pools. We usually hung around the smaller pool in what they call the Spanish courtyard. Pools were usually very quiet with just a few people hanging around each one. Some small "cracks" in the resort: main pool deck needs to be refurbished because the finish is peeling off of it. Cushions on loungers were soiled and need to be replaced. There was little or no service around the pools. The umbrellas appeared to be stationary which meant little or no shade around most of the larger pools. Our unit had some very small maintenance issues like strobing light bulbs and a constantly running toilet that we had to specifically ask to be serviced. The only other issue is access. The international airport is on the far southern tip of the island and Cap Maison is on the far northern tip. We arranged for a car to pick us up at the airport. The ride in a very nice vehicle with a pleasant driver was about one hour and forty minutes up and down and around mountains on narrow roads. After a long plane ride it was rather enervating. On the way back, we elected to take a water ferry (double the price) which also took an hour and forty minutes but was much more pleasant, only getting a bit rough at the very end. The experience was a bit diminished, in our opinion, because the attendants were hell bent on getting everyone drunk (not us!). Overall, I'd recommend the water ferry over the car service. Bottom line: a marvelous, highly recommended luxury resort.

First class hotel in every way. All staff were friendly and happy in their roles, providing excellent service. We were on half board and the restaurant offered a true fine dining experience with the menus changing daily. Location and accommodation also amazing.

One of the most luxurious and wonderful vacations we've ever had. Our room was spectacular- with a rooftop pool and deck. The staff went over-the-top to insure every bit of our stay was perfect. Meals at the 2 restaurants were delicious, and the views and atmosphere were special. Nice fitness room-- kept clean and well-stocked with all the little extras. The beach was wonderful-- well equipped with snorkeling gear, kayaks, noodles, and much more. The hotel arranged some fun activities for us: hiking, fishing, and the Friday night jump up in town. The best part of our stay-- the fact that this is a small, boutique hotel- the staff gets to know you, and they go the extra mile to see that you are happy and kept happy. It seems easy for everyone who worked there, because they were the happiest people we've ever met. Very special vibe. Thank you, Cap Maison for an amazing Saint Lucia vacation. We hope to be back!

We have had an exceptional experience at Cap Maison. We were made to feel welcome from the moment we arrived and the top service remained for the whole of our stay. All the staff were excellent and nothing was too much trouble. I could mention many of them but would particularly like to mention Nella who served drinks at breakfast and at the poolside, always with a ready smile. We had a few snatched conversations by the pool and Nella showed herself to be thoughtful, perceptive and highly intelligent. A huge thank you to everyone at this very special and beautiful resort for giving us a holiday of a lifetime which was much needed after a sad bereavement.
