With a splendid seaside location in Normandy, less than two hours from Paris, Deauville has gained quite a reputation among French society. Blending style, comfort, and refined elegance, the Hotel Barriere Le Royal Deauville is a study in the fine art of luxury in the heart of this charming town. Built in 1913, when Deauville was a magnet for the wealthy and stylish of Europe, the impressive façade of this Leading Hotels of the World member still presides over the center of town. Each of its sumptuous guestrooms and suites features exquisite details and antique appointment, while gourmet treats include seafood dishes at Le Côte Royal and terrace dining at L'Etrier.

We had a wonderful stay at Le Royal Deauville. Our lovely room overlooked the sea front with two sets of french windows and had a huge comfortable bed. Breakfast was a treat. Service was impeccable. We parked the car and didn't touch it for three days. So much to see and do in Deauville. Can't wait to return

This hotel is old money grandeur. The service was impeccable from the moment we checked in until the moment we checked out. Breakfast was excellent with a large selection of foods, including cheese and meats and pastries. Dining was in a grand dining room or outside on the grassy lawn. Our very large room, 214 bis, was spectacular with a terrace overlooking the ocean. We kept our terrace doors open during the day and night and fell asleep to the sound of the ocean. The room temperature was always pleasant as this room was not air conditioned. The king bed was extremely comfortable, and it was hard to leave! The town is a few blocks away and the beach is across the street. There is no need for a car. I will definitely return. Merci!

We are leaving Deauville and this beautiful hotel, the Royal Hotel Barriere, which we called home for 10 days. The staff know us all by name and their service has been the best in all of the hotels around the world we have stayed. Absolutely 5 star and faultless. The funny thing is, AMEX recommended we stay at another hotel in Traville, just 5 minutes down the road. When we got to the other hotel we could see straight away it was not to our liking so cancelled the booking and found this hotel by ourselves. I cannot say enough about this hotel, my father in law who we brought with us, has a knack of complaining about everything and anything, but this stay, i heard not a word out of him. That is the greatest testament to how good this hotel is. Everyday, the restaurant menus changes, so you never tire of what’s on offer. As for Deauville, this town is magical and is like old Paris, that’s probably why It’s known as the Paris Rivièra. Full of restaurants, cafe’s, bars, markets, and beautiful beaches. As we are leaving the hotel is filling with Parisians escaping Paris for a break. If your ever find yourself in France, put Deauville on your list of places to stay or visit.

Much nicer than the le Normandy a grander feeling hotel with large corridors and a massive reception area Food in the bar is great had the steak which was massive and tender but you do get watched and joked about by the young immature bar staff which is amusing Breakfast is great with a vast selection Recommend getting and upgraded bathroom room as the older ones are grotty but the new renovated ones are lovely and very spacious and we had a sea view which was lovely to watch horses on the beach ! Only down side no air con so very warm it was 17-18 outside yet heating was blasting in corridors and at breakfast I was sweating buckets lol

My husband and I thoroughly enjoyed the Royal Barrierre in Deauville, France, from April 5 through April 9, 2004. This hotel is elegant yet warm, and the staff is very friendly. We especially appreciate the concierge, Frank, who helped us plan our driving trip to some of the D-Day sites along the Normandy coast. Also Pamela, one of the waitresses in the dining room at breakfast, went out of her way to be warm, friendly and helpful to us. Our room was truly luxurious. This is a hotel that we hope to return to on future vacations.
