Our family had the pleasure of staying at Grand Velas for a few days this summer. And it was a pleasure to be there. We appreciated how comprehensive the resort's services were. Pre-Arrival Days before our trip, we received an e-mail of our itinerary, name of our concierge and details of events/activities that would be available during our stay. This was pretty helpful as we reviewed everything during our flight to Cabo. Once we arrived at the resort, we were introduced to Claudia, our concierge, who was our point of contact through out the stay. She was extremely helpful the entire time. Facilities/Room The entire resort and room were immaculate. I don't remember seeing any litter over the course of several days. The pictures don't do the facilities justice. It feels like you are walking around a post card. Restaurants We tried Azul, Cocina de Autor, Frida, Lucca and Velas 10. Azul, the resort's buffet, had a wide selection of food options. We loved the bread, sweets and made to order tacos/quesadillas and at there most days. Cocina de Autor was an amazing experience. Overall Experience We loved our stay. This was our first time at an all inclusive resort and would highly recommend it. If you're looking for a 5 start experience, Grand Velas delivers!

Absolute paradise on earth. You simply cannot stay anyway better than The Grand Velas! The only way your stay gets better if you’re paired with Abdias Flores to make your experience once in a life time. He went above and beyond to ensure we enjoyed our stay to the max.

First, the bad: It's really a shame that this Resort fell considerably short of my high expectations. Having visited the sister Resort in Puerto Vallarta, I naturally assumed that this resort would be equal to, or better than that one, especially considering that this resort is about $3000 more per week than the Puerto Vallarta location. Despite the price difference between the resorts, the experience at the sister resort was so exceptional, that it enticed us to try the Cabo location. We typically vacation close to, or on our Wedding Anniversary on October 11th. I reserve a room well in advance and also make dinner reservations for the 11th, informing whichever Resort we are going to of the special occasion. This was no exception - an email was sent the week before for the dinner reservation, to the concierge at the Grand Velas Cabo Resort. There was no confirmation of the reservation, nor was there any acknowledgement of my email. Upon arriving at the resort at around 3:00pm, we were immediately told that ALL of the restaurants were completely booked, but that we could eat at the Buffet. We were further informed that the Buffet was only open until 5:00, and that it was only a lunch service! Great first impression! When a resort advertises that it has 7 restaurants and 5 bars only to find out that multiple restaurants AND bars are CLOSED or fully BOOKED, it really diminishes the idea that this is an ALL inclusive resort. To make matters worse, when we DID get reservations, the times were ridiculous - most being 8:30 and later! We were also not able to visit one of our favorite restaurants twice in the week that we were there because it was closed! Really good second impression! Over and above this very frustrating issue with the onsite restaurants and bars, there is also a total lack of nightly entertainment on the property. Given the remoteness of this resort from downtown Cabo, you would expect there to be SOMETHING to do after dinner? Again, comparing this resort to the sister resort, this doesn't even come close to the experience we had there. Maybe that is why they give you dinner reservations at 9:00pm? The one thing that seemed really odd about all of this is that the Resort didn't seem to be that busy. Pools were nearly empty, restaurants were not even HALF full and the grounds were deserted. This really makes it puzzling as to why dinner reservations were so hard to come by at this resort. Now for the good: The resort is GORGEOUS! We travel a lot and have seen many beautiful resorts in the world. This one is truly epic - from the rooms, to the grounds and the design of the building itself, this is one of the main reasons I chose to come here. I appreciate good design and enjoy all of the finer things in life. The view from every room is fantastic and is true oceanfront. Service and food is outstanding (for the most part). There were some dishes that were just average, but in general, the quality is high for the majority of food. Presentation, artistry and creativity were really over the top - truly one of a kind and deserving of the Forbes rating and Michelin Stars. Lastly, management did approach us after I disclosed my displeasure with the whole restaurant reservation system and lack of choices. It did however come across as too little, too late unfortunately, so I doubt that their effort swayed my opinion in any way. When a resort is as expensive as this one is, you have certain expectations, and when they are not met from day 1, it is hard to come back from that!

This is our third time in three years at Grand Velas Los Cabos, and it was the best experience we have had. Our other visits were excellent, but this visit exceeded our expectations. My husband and I stayed at GVLC for 5 nights with out 20 month old daughter. The room was excellent (like always), with great a/c and water pressure. However, the absolute star was Claudia, our concierge. I cannot say enough amazing things about her! Due to my daughter's sleep schedule, we are a bit specific regarding when we like to have housekeeping and the turndown service come to our room. Claudia was happy to make sure that everything happened at the correct time, and we never once had an issue. She checked in with us each morning, made sure our room had our daughter's favorite snacks, and even helped us in getting drink service at the kid's pool. Pre-arrival, I requested that we have extra milk for my daughter, as well as have the coffee table removed from the room (glass with sharp edges was a safety hazard for my daughter), and Claudia made sure that both requests happened. Meant the world to us! We plan to return to GVLC next year, and we will absolutely request to have Claudia as our concierge again! She is a star!! We ate at Velas 10, Lucca, and Frida. I'm not sure if the buffet has a new chef, but the food was outstanding! The options were fresh, delicious, and creative. I want to give a special shoutout to the woman who makes the quesadillas! Just fantastic! All the restaurants were excellent! We went to them with my daughter, and all of the waiters and staff were so friendly and kind to her. Lucca was extra special! We ate there twice and Juan was our server both times (we requested him the second time). He was so friendly, kind, and really made our experience special. Karla and Karen at Lucca were also very sweet, especially to our daughter. GVLC is the perfect combination of being kind friendly, while also catering to adults (e.g., great food, luxurious, relaxing atmosphere). My daughter absolutely loved the kids pool and splash pad. Just perfect! The one area that needs some improvement is the drink service to the kids pool and splash pad area. We mentioned this when we checked out, and GVLC was very responsive in saying that they will be working on making sure that the drink and food service goes to that area of the resort. However, I did want to mention it in my review, because we were completely forgotten about. Thank goodness for Claudia, because she ensured that the bar staff would get our drink order. If it wasn't for her, we would have never gotten drinks. I do trust that this won't be an issue in the future. I could go on and on about our amazing time. GBLC is the most perfect resort! Especially when traveling with kids. I can't say enough good things, and I hope that you're able to experience it for yourself! Don't hesitate, just go!
