Worst hotel ever

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 1 day ago

Just returned home from this absolutely shocking hotel.ok we didn't have the best of weather which is obviously not the hotels fault but to have water pouring into literally dozens of rooms during rain . ceilings falling down.aircon units constantly breaking down.water pouring in rooms through front doors and patio doors. Food wasn't actually to bad in 2 restaurants Tapaz and Carribbean just don't sit under Aircon outlets as they leaked constantly and seriously go early as we waited up to 2 and half hours to get a table (they don't do booking system) it's first come only. Spoons restaurant is a disaster waiting to happen with leaks everywhere no Aircon working and regular power cuts meaning food cooling down and then heating up when power comes on.Oh and don't ask for fries which isn't on menu at anytime in any restaurant as the staff go nuts and tell you to order them on room service.Waves pool bar had awesome staff but was closed for 2 days as they had a flood of rancid raw sewage behind the bar .don't bother looking for the beach as it doesn't exist the seawater comes right up to the seawall.reception staff absolutely useless they don't understand basic English and are so very slow. Mojito lounge leaked constantly with parts of roof falling down and ear bleeding music blasting out ( very decent drinks though) best part of this experience was actually checking out as it's honestly the worst hotel we have stayed in while travelling to Mexico (our 14 visit to Mexico)

Disappointing

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 2 days ago

Where do I begin? I was here on my honeymoon and it was quite the unpleasant experience. 1. I'll start with the most egregious false advertisement. The website shows this with beachfront property. The beach is practically non-existent. It is also full of exceptionally smelly seaweed. The seaweed is not the hotel's fault, however, there are no white sand beaches like they advertise. 2. There is NOTHING to do at the resort. Every advertised activity is dependent on good weather. Most of our visit was hurricane force winds so no enjoying of the sea and little of the pools. We spent most of the vacation in the room because there was nothing to do at the resort at all. Many people simply hung out on their phones in the lobby. I can't imagine bringing kids here. 3. With the exception of Sienna (Italian restaurant) the food is nothing to write home about. The buffet, Spoon, is also not air conditioned. My wife and I both ended up feeling ill toward the end of the trip, likely because of the food. 4. The resort is in poor shape. There were leaks all over and plaster falling off of the walls and ceilings. The adult swim up bar had a sewage leak with several inches of raw sewage behind the bar. 5. Everyone is trying to sell you something (timeshares, excursions, you name it). There is a very sleazy vibe about the place. The trips outside of the resort are very overpriced and they still try to sell you things.

Don't come here.

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 2 days ago

I wrote a comprehensive review a couple of days ago and it now appears to have gone walkabout. We came here on our honeymoon after upgrading here from another resort. We loved the look and feel presented by vloggers and information on their socials pages. We got here and initially, all was OK. However you soon realise what you see and hear is all fake. The place is falling to bits, the restaurants are barely open. The foods mediocre. We've had 2 weeks of sickness and diarrhea upon our return to the UK. It's a 3 Star at best. The cleaners and waiting staff are solid. The place is just one side hustle after another. There's exposed live wires on the 3ft strip wide beach. This place is honestly a joke. Hustled for your money 24/7. There's no entertainment as such. It's just a massive con. Honeymoon cost us over £5,000 waste of annual leave and hard earned money. 14 days of hell

Definitely not a Tui 5* platinum hotel

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 2 days ago

After reading reviews on this hotel (that were a mixed bag) I called into see Tui. I was told that they personally review their tui platinum hotels and that everything should be OK. The team at Broughton were amazing and did what they could to reassure us. The hotel is dated, no beach as such with a daily influx of smelly seaweed. The choice of restaurants were limited and had a wait for a table policy which was a long process as members from the prestige had priority (something I asked about on my initial enquiry of the hotel). We were served in plastic glasses in their bar and when we managed to get served in a glass they were washed under the counter in a bowl of water, which in hindsight could be where all our party ended up with terrible stomach problems from ( lasting several weeks on returning home). This was reported to reception and reps £30 at the hotel shop for imodium!!!!! Housekeeping were fabulous and friendly. Reps very helpful and informative about the region. No fighting for sunbeds as very under capacity. I think this hotel should be removed from its status with Tui as I have never had a problem with their platinum range before. Please think twice before booking this hotel.

Best Pool buttlers ever! TY Mauricio, Mike, Tony 💪👌🙏

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 3 days ago

We went with a 2.5yo and a 4 month old and it was great! The swim out was clutch allowing us to enjoy our vacation while our kids slept in the room. Big shoutout to the pool buttlers Mauricio, Mike and Tony who were a really integral part of making our stay enjoyable and memorable. Thank you ! The 2 downers of the trip were the weather (wasnt THAT warm) and the pool was a bit cold and our little kids couldnt stay in it very long. The weather is out of Azul's control of course but the pool temp could have been hotter. fantastic trip overall, would return
