We visited Dreams Jade Spa & Resort in January to celebrate my 65th Birthday! Grecia one of the event planners was AMAZING! She took care of my every need before our arrival and while we were there. The staff are attentive, the food was excellent, and the environment was ALWAYS clean, updated and well cared for. We've stayed here previously and will return due to the intimacy, care, and quality of service and food offered at this location. The pools were heated, the beach well maintained and available. The excursions are plentiful and fun. They drive fast in Mexico, so please be aware, it's just their nature. The little town Puerto Morales is awesome! The show, especially the Fire Show is fantastic. We've stayed down the street at the new Ventas Ha resort when it first opened. The resort was beautiful, but the resort can't compare with Dreams Jade. The food was no comparison. i realize Dreams Jade is a smaller family resort, but the amenities, and environment is definitely something I appreciate and look forward to when traveling. This time it was unusally a little more chilly than previous experiences, but we still had an amazing time! There was a cold front across the country and home was experience 4 degree weather and a tone of snow! No comparison!

This resort is not a 5 star resort. The rooms are in need or repairs and updating. We had a beautiful view of the ocean with palm trees and beautiful gardens. The beach is sandy and nice for relaxing on. There is bar service as well. However the red flag was out every day we were there and it was too rocky for us to swim in. On the "preferred " side the water is calmer and has fewer rocks. You can easily walk into the water without stumbling over rocks. Both the food and the drinks are hit and miss. You can go to the same restaurant, order the same thing and it probably won't taste the same the second time. The French restaurant had delicious French onion soup that was great every time. The tenderloin my husband he loved. His was tender and melted in his mouth. Mine was difficult to cut and chew although it had a nice flavor. We went three times and the only item that remained top quality was the soup. I don't know where they got the recipe for creme brule because it tastes nothing like it should. I had a lemon tart two different occasions. The first night it was delicious. The second night the tart had absolutely zero amount of lemon in it. Every restaurant had their hits and misses. The preferred bar was where we went when we wanted a good drink. They have top shelf liquor and know how to properly mix drinks. Other bars we tried were okay and some drinks were tasted and left behind. The people that work at the resort work very hard and always greeted us with a smile. Always pleasant and did their best to make our interactions memorable. They are the ones who make the experience there memorable. My husband and I had a fantastic time when we were there. You make your own memories. Your vacation is what you make of it regardless of what ups and downs you encounter.

Most of the restaurants were not that great as the food was not hot enough. The service was wonderful and Francisco at the bar outside the lobby was amazing! He enjoyed his job and made great drinks and was very entertaining and enthusiastic!
