Dreams Jade Resort & Spa

We just spent a week at Dreams Jade and overall had a really good vacation. There are definitely things we loved, but also a few things that kept us from giving it 5 stars. First, I really liked how modern and digitized the room was. The automatic curtains were probably my favourite feature, and the motion-sensor lights were a nice touch too. A few small things could be improved, though. A little soap dish beside the bathroom sink would be nice. Also, you can't turn the TV on without the backlight coming on, and we found it way too bright, especially at night. We stayed in Building 1, room 1316. Our balcony gets really nice sun around 3 PM, so I would have loved to have a lounger out there. Just be aware that the view from this particular room is mostly of the resort next door and there is active construction below. You can see the ocean off to the side, but it's not really an ocean-view room. Definitely download the Hyatt app before you arrive. You'll use it for pretty much everything — ordering room service, checking schedules and making restaurant reservations. Speaking of restaurants, Teppanyaki was fantastic! We actually ate there twice because we enjoyed it so much. Reservations are required and have to be made through the Hyatt app. It's only open certain days and fills up VERY quickly, so be ready to log in at around 2 PM when reservations open. The other restaurants also have specific days/hours, so definitely look at the schedule and plan your dinners accordingly. Our first Teppanyaki experience was with Chef Oscar. His English was limited, so he mostly interacted with the Spanish-speaking guests at our table. The second time we had Chef Luis, and it was a completely different experience. He interacted with everyone at the table and really made the dinner feel like an experience rather than just a meal. The food was excellent both times. The staff at the Carnival International Buffet were also wonderful. Lourdes and Jesus especially stood out. They always greeted us with a smile and genuinely made us feel welcome. At the pool, Jesus, the pool attendant, always made sure our usual spot was set up for us, and Angelica, our pool server, made sure we never went thirsty. David from the entertainment team was also great — he kept the energy going with games and activities without being annoying or overbearing. There were a couple of things that bothered us, though. There were a few occasions where we felt that some staff members were noticeably more attentive to Mexican guests than to non-Mexican guests like ourselves. Maybe there was a language or cultural reason for it, but as guests, that's how it came across to us. The other thing was the inconsistent enforcement of rules. We were told we couldn't eat by the pool, yet we saw plenty of other people eating there. We were also asked to move farther away when smoking at the beach, while we saw someone smoking a cigar right beside the pool. We're honestly not the type of people who care what other guests are doing. You're on vacation — you paid to be there, so have fun and enjoy yourself as long as you're not bothering anyone. But if the resort has rules, we think they should either be enforced consistently or the rules should be relaxed. It's the inconsistency that's frustrating. And finally, this is probably the biggest reason we wouldn't return to Dreams Jade. The overall crowd and vibe just weren't really our thing. Nothing terrible at all — it's just not the type of atmosphere we're looking for anymore. We've decided that for future vacations we'll probably stick with Secrets and similar adults-focused properties, where we prefer the more mature atmosphere and overall vibe. That said, we really did enjoy our week. The resort is beautiful, the rooms are modern, the food is good, and there are some genuinely fantastic employees who went out of their way to make our stay enjoyable. Would I recommend Dreams Jade? Yes, depending on what you're looking for. Would we return? Probably not. For us, it's a solid 4 stars and a good vacation — just not quite the right fit for our next one.

This resort is beautiful, very clean, and has amazing food. When my husband and I first arrived, we had a long wait to check in, and unfortunately our room was not clean when we finally got there. We reached out to the front desk, and Roberto took care of everything for us. He truly went above and beyond to make sure we were taken care of. His kindness and attention made such a difference in our experience and completely changed our first impression of the resort. Our room was beautiful, the food was amazing, and we ended up having such a fun and relaxing stay. We especially want to thank Roberto and Gabriella for making our vacation and our anniversary so special. Would we come back? Absolutely! We would definitely return and highly recommend this resort.

This was our first vacation to Dreams Jade The rooms are amazing we stayed in the preferred section we've always traveled to adults only resorts we found that the preferred area offered the same. All a le cart restaurants had amazing food and service Capers, Mercure, Spice must try yummy! The service at preferred pool was excellent thank you to Melvin for his daily service in providing everything we needed to start and finish our day ( Great Job Melvin) & Omar and Carlos for the refreshments poolside. Also the Barefoot Grill was excellent kudos to the chef who worked so hard to keep the grill going offering excellent fish tocos, chicken wings, hamburgers, hotdogs just a few items to mention. The daily entertainment poolside was very enjoyable The Guitar Player was amazing as well as Dueto Pop, Country Duet Black Horse would love if they played longer or in the preferred lounge in the evening. Overall excellent resort with lots to do and we will definitely return soon.

Lovely hotel close to lots of excursions. Friendly and welcoming staff. Rooms were amazing. Good service throughout the hotel. Well maintained hotel and grounds were exceptional.

We stayed at Dreams Jade Resort for two weeks in August, travelling from the UK, and overall we had a really lovely holiday. The resort has beautiful, well-kept grounds and from the moment we arrived the staff were so welcoming and friendly. When we arrived there was quite a lot of seaweed on the beach. It was a shame, but the staff worked really hard to clear it and keep on top of it throughout our stay. Within a few days the beach was clear and they continued working hard to keep it as clear as possible. If you are a massive beach lover, this may not be the best resort for you. The staff were definitely one of the highlights of our holiday. Everyone was friendly and attentive, but Edwin from the Carnival buffet deserves a special mention. He really did make our trip. Every day he would pick out a table for us with an ocean view, make a big fuss of our little girl and surprise her with a special drink or ice cream. He was so kind and thoughtful and always made us feel really looked after. Jose and Jonathan were also fantastic and always went out of their way to help us. We were lucky enough to receive a lovely upgrade to the Privilege section, and the staff in the Privilege Lounge were brilliant. They were always friendly and attentive and made us feel very welcome. The food was good, with plenty of choice and variety. Spice was probably our favourite restaurant and we really enjoyed eating there. The kids’ club staff were brilliant too. There were lots of activities for the children and our little girl loved being included when they could. She was actually too young to attend the kids’ club properly, but the staff were so lovely and always made an effort to include her, which we really appreciated. Our room was lovely, spacious and kept clean throughout our stay. Unfortunately, about a week into our holiday, our little girl tripped while walking to breakfast and cut her forehead, which meant she needed to go to hospital for stitches. It was obviously a very frightening and stressful experience for us, but the staff were fantastic. They acted really quickly. The hotel doctor arranged for us to go to the hospital and made sure everything was organised. By the time we got to the lobby, a taxi was already waiting for us, and the driver had been asked to wait for us and bring us back to the hotel afterwards. Martin from the Concierge desk was also amazing. He messaged us while we were at the hospital to check that everything was okay and continued to check in with us regularly once we were back at the resort. That meant a lot to us, especially after such a stressful experience. I think that really says a lot about the staff at Dreams Jade. We will always remember how well they looked after us when we needed it most. A huge thank you to everyone who looked after us, especially Edwin, Jose, Jonathan and Martin. You all made our holiday that little bit more special, and we would definitely love to come back.
