Smaller resort with bigger amenities. Jade is a good sized resort but not as big as others which is exactly what we wanted. Even though it is half the size of the big boys, it offers really diverse and quality food options. Francisco at the Time Out bar is the best first impression you can have. He makes fabulous drinks and shows pride in everything he does. The breeze and view on that patio is the best and Francisco just adds to the experience. Edwin in the breakfast Buffet is your man for a special experience. Omar at the main pool bar was the best bartender we had at that location. The Hibachi show did not disappoint. That is one thing you definitely want to book early to be sure you can get in as space and show times are limited. We experienced the karaoke night, silent dance party, and fire show. We had a great time at all 3. We worked with Arnoldo to book a private dinner at the fire show and we were literally 10 feet from the show in comfortable seats with delicious food. You will occasionally see people standing around carts offering spa or other services. Don't be afraid to stop and see what they are offering. While those special things do carry additional costs, it is a low pressure discussion and really helps you understand what special things you can experience if you desire. This was our first time there. We went because family members have been there multiple times and spoke highly of it. It did not disappoint.

The Dreams Jade Resort south of Cancun was the best all-inclusive resort I have been to along the Mayan Riviera. It had little flourishes that made it feel like a luxury resort: stand-alone cafe where we could order espresso-based drinks, a wonderful scent in all enclosed spaces, a glorious outdoor patio at the buffet restaurant, and clean spaces. The staff were very accommodating and friendly! We were able to swim in the ocean and hang out on the beach which we haven't been abe to do at the two other resorts we have stayed at on the Mayan Riviera because of the sargassum (seaweed). The one thing I found annoying was the timeshare guys and their pushiness. I went to the front desk to confirm my return shuttle and I was met with a friendly worker. I was only there for 4 days, and I resented having these guys trying to convince me to attend a 2-hour breakfast in exchange for a free massage. I was assertive and walked away, but I felt annoyed by that interaction. However, this is definitely not a deal breaker. The resort is nice and close to the Cancun International Airport which makes it ideal for a shorter stay. We upgraded to the Preferred Club and got an ocean facing room which was fantastic. I would happily return to Dreams Jade again and again.
