Reviews for Dreams Jade Resort & Spa

Great Employees - Terrible Food, Drinks, and Beach

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 8 hours ago

This is hard for me because I really wanted to like Jade Dream resort, and I have also never written a bad/mean review. The workers were so kind and I have nothing but good things to say about them. However, despite the staff, our stay only progressively got worse with time. To start, on the first night, we got in around 5pm. This was an unfortunate timing as that is when the grill closes and the buffet to switch to dinner. We went to the Mexican restaurant at 6:30. My partner ordered the tacos and I asked for a plain chicken quesadilla. This food did not come out until EIGHT THIRTY (8:30PM!!). We were starving and had not eaten since before our 10am flight. The waiter was very apologetic but it was brutal. They brought out chips, salsa, and guac and we inhaled the chips and salsa, but the guacamole was LIQUID and looked inedible. The next day, we were ready for a fresh start and to see everything in the daylight. At breakfast, we grabbed a plate from the clean "warm plates" section, and lo and behold, my hand touched STICKY HOT PINK GUM on the bottom of the plate (picture attached). This immediately grossed me out and disappointed me. The only breakfast food that looked edible was the omelet bar which I did enjoy. I was really excited about the meat bar in the buffet as a dinner option where you could select a type of meat and they would cook it for you, but then immediately got grossed out when I saw a fly/gnat constantly landing on the food. The chef was completely unphased too and didn't even try to swat away the fly so I was unable to stomach eating the steak thinking it had fly poop on it. The food was a disappointment at every restaurant and the buffet, except for the Italian restaurant. In fact, the food was so bad that despite me not EVER drinking the tap water or brushing my teeth with it, I got DEATHLY sick the third day. It has been 4 days since I got sick and I am still recovering - unsure what could have possibly given me this bacteria other than the food possibly. The pools were nice, but the beach area was covered in seaweed. I understand the resort cannot control the excessive seaweed, but the resort directly next door did SIGNIFICANTLY better at maintaining it. They were constantly cleaning it up and rarely had a pile out in front of the beach area and never had a smell the way Jade Resort CONSTANTLY had heaps and piles of seaweed and a terrible smell. I was so disappointed because this trip was supposed to be a celebration of me getting a new job and resting/recovering before I started. Instead I returned deathly ill, and extremely disappointed and exhausted because I still can't sleep through the night without waking up every 1-2 hours ill. I will say that I thought using 115,000 points to stay here for four days would be the best use of my points going to an all inclusive resort and it was by far the biggest waste of points I have ever used. I would rather pay significantly more somewhere else or just not go back to Cancun than ever return here - that's how disappointed I was :(.

Dreams Jade Preferred Club

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 9 hours ago

We spent a wonderful week by the pool in the preferred club. Installations are well kept and comfortable. Pool attendants are very friendly and attentive. Special mention for exceptional service to Jesus, Melvin and Francisco that go the extra mile to make everything perfect for our enjoyment. « Hasta la vista baby » 🤩

Mexico Vacation - March 2026

Spent a week at Dreams Jade with my wife and another couple. Overall it was a great trip. The activities and activity coordinators were great and made the trip memorable. Shout out to Tony, Saul, David, Benji, and Amari for doing a great job keeping everyone entertained. We played beach volleyball, did Zumba, pool volleyball, did the bike tour and many more. Unfortunately the beach volleyball was unavailable the last 4 days due to events and romantic dinners. This was unfortunate since the beach volleyball court was a big reason we chose this resort. However, the activity staff invited us to play in a staff game on the roof on one of our last nights which was a lot of fun! The following are some areas that could have improved our stay: food choices on the buffet were limited and sometimes took a while to get replenished. Portions at the a la carte restaurants were quite small. The reservation process to get into the restaurants was very inefficient especially at the Spice restaurant for their habachi dinner. It is first come first serve and we waited in line 3 times for almost an hour each time to be told they were fully booked for the night each time. We enjoyed Tamarindo and castaways the most and had great service by Fernando at Tamarindo.

A dreamy week

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 20 hours ago

My husband and I joined another couple for a week at Dreams Jade Resort and Spa. We had such a wonderful time, the entertainment staff made our trip so much fun with morning yoga, Zumba, beach volleyball and the bike tour. We have to give a special shout out to Antonio, Saul, David, Amara and Benji- they were so welcoming and full of energy. The last 4 days of the trip the beach volleyball net was removed for weddings, romantic dinners, etc. which was a big bummer as beach volleyball was a draw to this resort because our entire group plays- because of this the entertainment staff put together a game on the upstairs court which made our last day so special. Our favourite restaurant was Tamarindo and we were so lucky to get our favourite waiter Fernando twice. The Habachi reservation system was unfortunate, we waited twice in line for 45minutes to 1.5hours for all the reservations to be taken up by large groups every night. It’s an unfair system and should be changed so everyone can enjoy. We were unable to eat here because of it. All in all we had a lovely time, the resort is clean and efficient, the staff is always ready to lend a helping hand. We went during spring break so we knew it would be busy but the way the resort is set up allowed for everyone to be spread out. As always more loungers and towels are needed during these busy peaks.
