Miguel at the Teppanyaki restaurant (chef) was absolutely incredible. His skill as chef was unbelievable; and his hospitality was over and above. The food he created was sensational!!! Best All Inclusive meal i think i’ve ever had; and Miguel and his staff were impeccable. So well done.

Jose and Miguel at the towel station by the beach were always attentive to the needs around the pool. Both of them were very friendly every morning and afternoon when we would walk by, whether we needed a towel or not! A warm greeting and a smile goes well with the sunshine. Their level of hospitality helps make this resort what it is.

We went to the Dreams Jade for 10 days in February. It was our 2nd time at this hotel and we took the partial Preferred Club option. Upon arrival the temperature in our room was 17 degrees Celsius and the A/C was going full blast. It was also obvious that the room had not really been cleaned for new guests. We let the mediocre house keeping go but the room temperature had to be corrected. I called the front desk to have this fixed. A maintenance guy came to our room after a few minutes. Immediately, he acknowledged the room was freezing. He played around with the control panel and said the temperature would get back to normal. After dinner, went we got back to our room it was still 17 degrees. I went to the front desk and they said someone would come by our room. This new guy did the same thing with the control panel. Through the translation by the front desk I was told to wait a couple of hours and restart the A/C. The maintenance guy was finding all this quite amusing. We waited until the afternoon of the next day to restart the A/C. By then, the temperature had risen to 19 degrees in the room. We assumed only the fan would run since we had set the temperature of the unit at 23 degrees. Again the A/C went full blast with cold air. For the 3rd time I went to the front desk to complain. They sent yet another guy who did absolutely nothing except play with the control panel. We shut the unit off and went to sleep. On the 3rd day, We tried once again the A/C. The problem was still there. I went a 4th time to the front desk. The guy implied i didn't know how to manage the A/C and someone would come by and show me. Finally, a 4th maintenance guy came. It took him about a minute to figure out there was a malfunctioning shut off valve. He said he would replace it immediately, which he did and the unit operated normally after. 3 lazy and/or incompetent guys saw the problem but did nothing about it. The resort also has a serious problem with housekeeping. We tipped every day in the hope we would get a properly cleaned room but things didn't improve. Towels not replaced, dead ants all over the floor, no soap in the showers, dust on the furniture everywhere, flies appearing on a daily basis and so on. Only the maid on our next to last day did a very good job. On the positive side, all the restaurants are very good, the buffet in the morning and at lunch is more than adequate. All the bars serve top brands and the barmen are quite generous. It also helps if you tip. The entertainment we saw was good. The beach in front of the Preferred Club was a bit disappointing with big and small rocks in the sand. There is absolutely no way to figure which areas are reserved for the Preferred Club on the beach and the hotel doesn't control access to the beach or the adult pool. We found that the Preferred Club upgrade wasn't really worth the money.
