Hilton, by name alone, presents a mixed experience. The resort boasts a stunning beach that remains clean and warm throughout the day, along with a variety of pools and an enjoyable aqua park for children. The dining experience at the French restaurant, Moustache, is commendable, earning a solid rating of 9 out of 10. However, the trip, which was a wedding anniversary celebration meticulously planned over six months, was marred by several issues. Despite paying extra for an upgrade to the enclave rooms, upon arrival after a long journey, the check-in process revealed that our room was not prepared, and the anticipated surprise elements were absent. While other guests received celebratory decorations, our room lacked any acknowledgment of our special occasion. The initial room was damp and unwelcoming, necessitating a change that delayed the surprise. Additionally, the main restaurant served undercooked meat and fish, leading to illness among friends, while the Italian restaurant offered a limited menu that discouraged further visits. Although the grill restaurant was satisfactory, it too had a restricted selection. The French restaurant, despite having the best food, suffered from slow and inconsistent service, particularly challenging for families with children. Overall, the hotel's potential is overshadowed by operational inefficiencies, and it is advisable to refrain from upgrading to the Enclave unless it is part of the original package.

Great stay at the Hilton La Romana this early December. Gorgeous grounds filled with beautiful native plantings. Rooms were comfortable and clean. Nice rain shower with wand and good water pressure. Food was not the best ,as is usually the case with these types of all inclusives but was tolerable. There are about 10 restaurants to choose from, with reservations needed only for the Japanese hibatchi seating. The sommelier, Yestran, helped us with some amazing wine choices. All staff was super polite and helpful, especially the entertainment team who kept our week full of activities- Juliana, Marie, Freddie,-all great! Morning yoga with Kevin was a beautiful way to start the day, on a grassy, shady knoll. Unfortunately, the pool/beachside culture to secure good spots was alive and well- you needed to be down by 7:15 in the AM to claim a good spot. At registration, we were told that if you leave a towel or any personal belongings unattended for more than an hour, they would be removed and taken to lost and found for pick up, but this was never enforced. Enclave upgrade was not too expensive and worth it. You get better restaurant choices, access to a comfy , air conditioned lounge with snacks , top shelf alcohol choices, and access to the Enclave pool which has shade umbrellas unlike the regular infinity pool. There is also a sectioned off beach area for Enclave upgrade guests which has a large shady pergola as well. Beach water is awesome, clear, calm waters with no sargassum, but many areas of the ocean floor are rocky so one must be careful. All in all, it was a beautiful week! Love this resort and will definitely return.

Stayed here for 2 weeks in November. Enclave : Not worth the upgrade, you need to set your alarm for 5:30am if you want sun loungers around the enclave pool. Otherwise, you have no chance of getting one. 24-hour room service is a joke you have to pay €10 every time you order, which should be in with your enclave price. They should bring back coloured wrist bands. Otherwise, you get detained on the beach by a security guard (Stanley) speaks no English and doesn't believe your enclave so had to wait for another security guard to inform him we were enclave which was done in front of other guests which was embarrassing. The beach on the enclave side is really rocky and not nice at all. Everything nice and beautiful is on the family side, the beach and the sea beautiful. Restaurants. Again, everything good is on the family side. But the food was lovely. Sakura 10/10 The Moustache 10/10 The Grill 8/10 (Family Side) The Azzuri 8/10 Noore 4/10 Bars. Nightclub is closed as it is being refurbished but we wasn't told, Sports bar closed as it was being refurbished, again was not told on booking and the casino, well, it's a room with a handful of slot machines and 2 Tables. Housekeeping. Could not fault (Nuro) she was incredible in keeping our room spotless. Rooms were very big and spacious. Enclave Pool. Music was terrible if you call it that it sounded like a constant Nokia ringtone. Best music was around the 2 adult infinity pools, which is better it was just very busy. Hilton is just a name and would not return.

Great holiday. Ecspecialy the staff at the adults only enclave Pool. Many thanks to Olga , junior and all if their colleagues. Big clean and modern rooms . Great choice and variaty of food in all the restaurants. Tip for management: once a week a show or party for adults only part of hotel.

We normally stay at Sandals resorts and find them hard to compete with, but this resort was even better in some ways. My parents have mobility issues and they kindly lent us wheelchairs for the length of our stay. The water in the pools is warmer than any other pool I have been to in the Caribean. The water at the beach is also warm and so calm. I have never seen so many people swimming in the ocean, but if you like to walk the beach, this may not be the place for you. It is not very long and when you get off of the Hilton Beach area there is a lot of broken glass in the sand. Be sure to wear water shoes if you do walk the beach. Yannis at the breakfast buffet gave the best service with a smile. Enrique at Le Moustache on the family side was another waiter who was so pleasant and made our experience more enjoyable. Armondo at Noor was another of our favorite waiters. He was so sweet and suggested things for us to eat that turned out to be delicious! We loved the fact that our rooms were cleaned early in the morning, because my Dad is 86 years old and loves to take an afternoon nap. We had an amazing vacation and can't wait to go back!!
