For context I stayed 5 days at Secrets St. Lucia and one day at Zoetry due to flight cancellation. I absolutely recommend AGAINST staying at Zoetry. You have better choices on the Island and for the price, you can find something much better. Read all the other recent reviews and you'll see some commonalities. This is a small boutique hotel with inconsistent (some old, some new) rooms, staff training, facilities, and food. If the only purpose of your trip is sit by the pool, get spa treatments and eat and drink, this may be for you (I still think you have better options), otherwise consider other places like Secrets (another Hyatt property). Check-in process - My room was not ready and I had to wait until 4:20 to get into my room. The front desk staff were not welcoming or engaging. There was an error ($1400 extra) in my room charge when they ran the credit card and I happened to catch it that night and got it corrected (which was an ordeal in of itself). They were more interested in selling me on future trips to new locations (Aruba, Athens) than anything else. Staff - In general they were not pleasant. Not rude, per se, just appeared to not enjoy their job and that showed on how they interacted with us. It may be a training issue, not sure, but as guests, we deserve better. Food - Was as expected in an all-inclusive. Not bad, but not great. Pools - Surprisingly loud with the music playing well into the night. Hard to sleep with the rooms close to the pool. In the morning, I wanted to grab a lounge chair near the lower pool. I asked the pool attendant for two towels to place on my chairs and he would not give me any and indicated I had to wait until he placed them on the lounge. Again, a continuation of a non-accommodating attitude of staff. Rooms - I think some of the rooms are updated based on the pictures on their website. My room was not and the bathroom specifically was outdated and in poor condition. Not dirty, just old and not up to standards of any hotel, much less a luxury hotel. Rooms do not have standard US 110 plugs. Which is fine. They have adaptors. The issue is that they knew I was from the US and they didn't anticipate this need. I had to come back to the front desk and ask for an adaptor. Again, not a big deal at normal hotels, but you expect that luxury hotels would anticipate this common need. Location / activities - Nothing to really do, but to sit around the pool, unless you wanted spa treatments all day. Beach - The website photos are VERY misleading with pictures of the beach. There is no beach access on the property. You can go across the bay and sit on a public beach. Facilities/ Gym - The gym facility was dated. They had ample equipment, in my opinion for the size of the property, but it looked more like an old apartment building gym that was cobbled together overtime.

I don’t even know where to start! All inclusive is an understatement! You get one cup of coffee or any drink and then you are on your own and have to get your own or flag a rude wait staff down and feel like you’re being an inconvenience to them. Service is very very slow all over and you have to ask at least 3 times for anything. Many of the staff are rude, you have to pull teeth to get a pool towel! They have a pool police! We will not be returning. Also the buildings need updated and the grounds had garbage all over.. somebody needs to go around and do grounds pick up.

The hotel is beautifully designed to fit on a challenging site, steeply sloped and curving around the side of the bay. Rooms face the bay, most having views of the water. There are several restaurants, serving a range of food from high-end to snacks, all of which is very good. There is a range of activities arranged throughout each day, some free including yoga and Pilates from the excellent instructor Markeem, and some chargeable, and there is entertainment most evenings. Most of the staff are very friendly and helpful, often ready to discuss their experiences and share their thoughts. Check-in is smooth and welcoming. You can stay onsite eating and drinking until it’s time for your transfer back to the airport. Rooms are clean and comfortable. Beds are good and the bathroom well equipped. The balcony is spacious. Our view (room 1022) was beautiful. The beach on the other side of the bay is lovely, with a great boat trip over and with staff who really care for you under the direction of Shadrack, and you can canoe, sail or paddleboard while just snorkelling is worthwhile. The main pool is nice. All the bars and restaurants are happy to make whatever cocktail you wish without sticking to the limited menu. We would recommend the Cove restaurant for lunch, with exceptional fish and meat skewers. Hurricane Hole is good for breakfast, with the traditional saltfish and plantains dish which is only available here. The 1461 restaurant also does good breakfast and its evening meals are very good quality. However, restaurant service at Hurricane Hole and 1461 is very poor. It seems the processes are broken, with nobody in overall control of delivering hot food in a timely manner. For example, the kitchen at Hurricane Hole has no way of alerting waiting staff to plates being ready to serve, meaning they sit on the counter for ages getting cold before being delivered. At breakfast at 1461, you are shown to a table and given a menu. Then another member of staff asks if you want tea or coffee, and goes off again. When finally it is delivered they will ask if you also want milk and sugar and then bring it. Finally, a third staff member comes to take your food order. This all takes rather a long time (there is a limited buffet too). We don’t expect German levels of efficiency but we should expect to get coffee within a few minutes of sitting down and hot food shortly afterwards. Hurricane Hole is even slower – it took 1 hour to receive the breakfast we ordered and it wasn’t hugely busy at the time. Complaining or circumventing the process (I went to get the coffee jug myself) results in strong comments. The Cove, in comparison, is completely different. There, the staff are quick, efficient and always friendly. I would particularly pick out chef Naima and waitress Winesha. I asked one if she had worked elsewhere and she said she had. I think this may be the key. The staff in the other restaurants may not know what “good” is because they’ve not been exposed to it and their management don’t show them, so they wander about, clean the tables and tidy the sideboards without noticing that customers are not getting served. So yes, this is a wonderful hotel. Idyllic. I would strongly recommend it. Just choose your restaurant carefully and try not to get too frustrated if it takes an hour to get your breakfast.

The location is beautiful, and the hotel has so much potential. The room was spacious, and the plunge pool was glorious, but the fridge, freezer, phone, and safe in our room did not work, which was a lot to deal with on our arrival. We wasted two days of our stay making the room operational--that is really something that staff should keep a better eye on between room occupancies. We had to carry all of our valuables on us for more than two days, despite setting appointments with security (which they ignored) several times. That really diminished our experience. And we wasted so much time waiting for them in our room. Listed amenities, like resort coupons and a room butler, were also just disappointing to the point that the resort should just not offer them. The coupons were downright useless and impossible to redeem. All of the staff were light on details when it came to answering any question, and they were all clearly unhappy to be asked anything of. We did not feel pampered or even welcome for our stay. Our extra activities (which we paid for) were also cancelled without any notice. And we spent so much time wandering around trying to find things. Even for the ferry to the beach, we were directed (by the hotel staff) to the ones you have to pay for, instead of the complimentary resort one. Communication was just so poor and tedious, and occasionally malicious. We did not know what to expect one day to the next. Light on details was the theme of the trip. We were also served whatever drinks they felt like giving us, instead of the ones we ordered. They were very misleading about that, perhaps deliberately so. I stayed at the Windjammer in St. Lucia years ago, and it was a fabulous time, despite their lower star rating. So I had high hopes for this vacation, considering the cost and claimed quality, but those were dashed. The resort needs to be downgraded to a 3, I have no idea how they are rated 5 stars. The service is so unfriendly and unaccommodating. There is also really no beach there to speak of, the one you shuttle to is a barrage of noise and salesmen, not relaxing at all. St. Lucia is a beautiful place, so save your money and stay somewhere else! The staff at the spa were quite nice.

Lovely Island but the resort lacks service. No ambiance in the sleeping rooms. Food was terrible overall; we had a few delicious items but over 5 days we lost weight. Staff overall was terrible/rude/dismissive however call out to: Oliva in the Cove 5 star Joshua mini bar guy 5 star Keanua at the pool 5 star Tatiana at Chek in 5 star Rosemary in housekeeping 5 star. Every other employee we encounter gets a 2 to 3 star.
