Couples Negril

We stayed at Couples Resort Negril for the second time this September. We were here last year and had such a good time that we had to come back. Couples is a great resort if you are looking to relax, enjoy mature vibes, and have a romantic vacation. Food was just ok to me. I didn't like that the same thing was served for breakfast every single day. I would have loved to see a variety of foods being changed out everyday or every other day. The drinks are always good! The Smile Jamaica is my go-to here! Soooo good! Entertainment was great! We were able to see the live local band, the drum show, and the fire show. (These are the same entertainers that we saw last year as well.) We did the glass bottom boat tour, snorkeling, and went off the resort to the Dolphin Cove. The staff was very friendly and helpful during these excursions. Along with this, servers come through the pool and beach areas to take drink/food orders which made a beach/pool day so much more relaxing. The pool was a bit dirty though; however the beach was 10/10! The water was warm and super clear. Along with this, we loved how each lounge chair comes with a cushion that is also a floaty. It made relaxing in the water that much more enjoyable with the ease of not having to pack or purchase a floaty. The rooms were very clean but old. The rooms could use a facelift, but our view was beautiful and room service kept our rooms spotless during our stay. Customer service is everything here! Everyone greets you with a smile and is very accommodating. The staff even set up the first football game of the season in the game room - which I thought was extremely thoughtful. My husband was very thrilled about that. My husband surprised me with a candlelight dinner (that was supposed to be on the beach, but it rained) that was super intimate and BEAUTIFUL. Mario took very good care of us during our private dinner. He was amazing! All in all, Couples is a great resort. The overall vibe is low-key and mature. We stayed for a total of four nights and it was a good time. Before coming to Couples Resort for four days, we stayed at Sandals Negril for three days. I have left a review there if you are comparing the two.

This is an interim review, but I am convinced that the staff here have to be amongst the best, kindest and most generous with their efforts in all of Jamaica. Hands down best service I’ve received at a resort or hotel. Not one person has been less than excellent so far. As an example, upon learning of my dietary preference Shadane in the Cassava Terrance liaised with Guest Services and Chef Renée so they could be accommodated wherever I choose to eat. Chef Renée has been making me the most delicious vegetarian food and has even been kind enough to take requests.

Our stay at Couples Negril was lovely. Being my husband and I's second time staying an all exclusive resort (the first being at Couples San Souci), it was better than we both could have imagined. We decided on Couples Negril from the recommendation by our travel agent Ruth Demuth with Trip Guy Travel Agency. She was absolutely lovely from start to finish ensuring all of our travel needs were met. She booked us with Club Mobay for departure and arrival at the Montego Bay airport. This is absolute *must* for us. The ease of the process of going through customs and baggage claim with a Club Mobay representative is well worth the cost in our opinion as it can be extremely overwhelming. Ruth also booked a private airport transfer with Reggae Tours to travel to our resort comfortably. We used Reggae Tours for our transfer to and from Couples San Souci and just as the first time, they were polite, professional, and very informative through our drive - we felt very safe. Upon arrival to Couples Negril, we were greeted by a few staff members. They were very nice and gave us a glass of sparkling wine to enjoy while we waited for a rainstorm to pass so we could be escorted to our room. Our room was centrally located on the ground level of Block 6 - which Ruth also requested for us for beautiful views of the ocean sunsets and the convenience of being steps away from the beach as well as all of the restaurants and amenities the resort had to offer. This resort is much easier to walk through compared to San Souci. We would rate the breakfast buffet (which was the only option if you wanted to sit down to dine) was just okay to us personally. There were lot of options to choose from - we just wished there were more traditional Jamaican specials to be offered off of a menu. The other dining options throughout the day varied as we went during Jamaica's slow season and the resort limited the restaurant availability through the week. This was a little inconvenient but nonetheless, we never went hungry a single day during our stay. Our favorite restaurant was the Asian inspired Lychee restaurant for dinner! The beach was BY FAR our favorite aspect of this resort. The grounds were kept neat every day and the water is absolutely breathtaking. The only downside was being approached by vendors most of the day, but by declining politely (if we weren't interested in buying anything), they were typically very nice and moved on. The watersports staff were awesome! We only opted for night snorkeling during our stay but we were so glad we did because it was a really cool and unique experience. We definitely let sand gravity take hold of us this trip and embraced the relaxing sounds and sights Jamaica has to offer. I would definitely recommend this resort to any couple looking to do the same!

First time visitors. Everything was Amazing from the pool to the beach. Food was plentiful and delicious. Specialty drinks were fun to try. Couples Massage was spot on. Everyone at Water sports was helpful and fun. We will be back.

Couples Negril is a FANTASTIC place to vacation with your spouse/loved one. The tropical scenery is Breathtaking, the beach is Amazing and the seawater is warm and refreshing. The staff are Wonderful, the meals are Delicious, the rooms are spacious, and super clean, and ALL the amenities are Amazing! There are various activities to choose from, or you can just relax, rest up, and enjoy the resort. Couples Negril has it's own "unique Vibe" that keeps us coming back!
