Beautiful and relaxing getaway for couples

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 6 days ago

This resort is simply WOW for a couple getaway! Completely adults only, and very private/intimate setting. BEACH: The beach is spectacular, with white powdery sand, and turquoise waters. The water is clam, easily swimmable and very relaxing. The beach loungers all have mattresses that you can take out into the water to lounge in the water. Security is amazing, kind, and helpful, and keeps an eye on the vendors that wander through the beach (they are not allowed to come up to the loungers on the beach). The vendors were present, but if you say "No thanks" they move along easily. ROOMS: We had an Atrium suite, and I highly recommend. There is no TV, but wifi is reliable all through the resort. The covered patio is AMAZING, with a sofa and hammock for relaxing. Rooms are a great size and kept very clean. Despite the fact that there are no glass on the windows, privacy is maintained with use of wooden shutters, keeping sound levels down a bit and heat out/AC inside. A great improvement would be to have glass on the windows that face the central atrium area of the block, giving more privacy between the neighbours. The mini-bar is well stocked, and you can choose each evening what you would like them to restock with the next day. Room service for breakfast is available, but just continental. It was nice to have a little snack before heading to the beach early, and then head to buffet/restaurant later! RESTAURANTS: The À la carte restaurants change menus 1x/3 days. Feathers was amazing, book there more than once during your stay! The Asian restaurant was ok, nothing to "write home about". The Palms buffet was really nice, service amazing, beautiful choices and variety every meal. The poolside bars/cantines were really amazing food options, much more high-level options than in most all-inclusives. SERVICE: The service was really amazing. They are in general very kind and helpful, as long as you are also in good spirits! I found some guests rude with wait staff, or overly rambunctious (always super unnecessary), and they did not get smiled at or joked with, so any reviews that mention bad service should be taken with a grain of salt, as they are probably the ones treating the staff terribly to begin with! CHECK-IN/TRANSPORT: The only improvement I would suggest would be the whole transport to the resort and check-in process. The transport was long, due to road conditions and weather, but also because the driver stopped on the way, and seemed to be going slow to meet up with someone on the way. Guests are excited to get to the resort quickly, so this should be improved. We also arrived at check-in time, and the room was not ready. Not a super huge problem since they provided us with unlimited sparkling wine while we waited, and indicated where the food options where, and we were able to walk around to check out which room blocks we were interested in. However, rooms should be ready when the guests arrive, especially when the arrival time is late afternoon. ROOM TIPS: Get an Atrium suite, which seem much more private than beachside suites, and definitely not as noisy as the Gardenview suites. Rooms 2127, 2123, 2124, 2122 and 1116 are very well-positioned and you can even have some partial beach views!

Very nice stay! It was off season so some hours were a bit off, but overall it was a great trip and I cannot wait to visit Jamaica again! Shauna, the swim up bartender, was fantastic! Tamara and Ultimate Chocolate for Blazing Piano was a highlight! Ronaldo and Martin were great as well!

Starting w great: location is gorgeous. Resort is beautiful. Spa is a must visit. Everyone is friendly So so: 1 1/2 bus ride from airport. Can’t do much about that but travelers beware. 2. we went during off season not all dining options open. Fix: be clear and who is open during the time of visit. Also the menus changed a lot. A simple flyer posted in the Libby or email of the menus would be nice Must fix: 1. Water. They say it’s purified but you can smell it. My husband was sick 5/7 days. How to fix - have bottle water. 2. 24 hr room service. It’s a romantic resort. We would have wanted a dinner in the room or lunch on patio. Nice to have: put a dispensary onsight and keep the beach weed guys away. They’re annoying and pushy. We went to another resort to heedoweedo and it was wonderful. Just a thought for the resort. We went August 27 - sept 3

We stayed here on the 1st of July, just before hurricane beryl paid a visit. We arrived after a 3 hour journey from the airport. Went to our room, well that certainly didn’t look like it was in the brochure Went down to the restaurant which was buffet, had jerk pork I could have broke windows with it! Restaurant staff weren’t the most welcoming it has to be said The next morning in the cold light of day it was clear this hotel needs some money spending on it,very tired indeed also I enquired about my so called garden view Should have been advertised tree view,I couldn’t even see the buildings opposite. Unfortunately due to the hurricane we couldn’t get flights home to the uk. Complained to our incompetent travel company TUI who are as much use as a chocolate tea pot We complained and apparently the hotel management engaged with us,no they didn’t! To many things went wrong at this resort,so if you can go elsewhere. Much better out there for the money,I wouldn’t recommend this hotel at all or TUI

Not what we thought..

Food was not what we expected. For the amount of money we worked hard for and saved all year this was a complete let down. The Jamaican beef patties at the outside bar was awesome! Workers not much much enthusiasm to help a first timer out on where to order or if u sit and wait. My husband and I actually left the resort nearly half our stay just to get decent food. Breakfast went straight thru us. Not sure if it was the oil used in the eggs and potatoes but that was a no good. Settled for pastries the rest of our stay. Don’t get me wrong beautiful beach good lunch but dinner definitely not. Also we were celebrating our 5th anniversary and in the 5 years and traveling to different resorts this resort didn’t even acknowledge it. We questioned it at checkout. They offered us a bottle of free champagne to take with us but declined as we only had carry on luggage. 7 days there and delft will not return. We will stick with Mexico or Dominican for future vacations. Beach vendors are quite frequent. Always trying to sell but politely said no thanks. And on repeat.
