My favorite resort in Puerto Vallarta
This is the place I'd return to if I had the good fortune that in-laws wanted to take my family on another sunny vacation. Gorgeous setting, lovely beach, excellent restaurants, beautiful rooms, and wonderful service. Special gratitude to Carlos, our beach volleyball captain; Fernando, our biking guide; Emmy, our fitness instructor; Rosario and Gardenia, our spa providers; and Luis, our concierge--thanking you for making this a memorable stay.

Brandon was such a star. My boys loved him. They played soccer and basketball together. They also loved the water aerobics. The resort was wonderful and the people were so kind and lovely. Everyone was fantastic.

The Grand Velas is our favorite place to vacation. We have been there 6 times now, and we will be going back. It starts as soon as one arrives with a favorite of a a neck massage from Leticia. My wife loves it. The rooms are nice and clean and with a great view of the ocean. The place is a 20 minute ride from the airport which is ideal. As we take mostly relaxation holidays, this place is nice and quiet. The pool concierges, Gustave and Edwardo are very friendly and welcoming and took the time to know us. The pool side service is exceptional. Francisco and Nino took care of us and it was most appreciated, even when Nino starts telling jokes. We always had a pre-dinner drink at the Koi bar and the staff were very accomidating. Breakfasts at Azul was a great start to the day. Special thanks to Fidel and the gang in there. The restaurnts were top notch. Hard to pick a favorite. Thanks to Alain in Piaf for remembering us from our previous trip. All in all this place is a grat place to spend a vaction.

I stayed at Grand Velas Riviera Nayarit for two nights and only have wonderful things to say about the property. The staff is absolutely fantastic -- always friendly, well-trained, quick, and ready to help with anything. Everyone gets a "personal concierge" who was a real time-saver for dinner reservations, spa appointments, and general questions. The spa is clean and the treatments I had (massage, facial, and hydrotherapy circuit) were wonderful, but the hydrotherapy pool area is showing its age just a bit. Because this is the oldest Grand Velas property, I was expecting it to feel a bit run down, but it did not show its age at all. The gym is especially modern.
My suite was "resort view" but I could clearly see the ocean beyond the pool without having to crane my neck or unpack the binoculars. It is most definitely a family-friendly resort, but the adults-only areas are separate and quite relaxing. Pool and beach service are top-notch. Food quality was very good, especially the Mexican restaurant and pool/beach options. The breakfast buffet could be a bit more exciting, but I'm not a fan of buffets... if you just want an omelet, opt for room service, which is lovely. I highly recommend this resort, especially for families, but couples and singles will also love it. It's worth the price and it is a real 5-star luxury property.

Just wanted to let your staff know that after 6 nights at the Grand Velas we didn't want to leave. The staff was very attentive and the food in all three restaurants was delicious. Our room was very contemporary with a Mexican feel. We were able to lie in bed and see the ocean. I would highly recommend it and have already.
