We recently returned from a one-week vacation at Grand Velas Riviera Nayarit as a family of seven (five adults and two children aged 8 and 10). It was truly an unforgettable experience! The resort is incredibly family-friendly, with something for everyone to enjoy. The sandy, swimmable beach offered great waves for boogie boarding, and the dining options were exceptional. Every meal was a treat, with the buffet and specialty restaurants exceeding our expectations. The staff’s dedication to creating a welcoming and enjoyable atmosphere is what truly sets this resort apart. We’d like to give special thanks to: • Karina, for her sunglasses cleaning service at the pool - such a thoughtful touch! • Carlos, who made beach volleyball and boogie boarding so much fun. • Jorge, our wonderful pool concierge, who ensured we had everything we needed. • Perla, our vacation concierge, for making our stay seamless and stress-free. • Elmira, for leading enjoyable stretching sessions and water volleyball games. • Emiliano, for bringing energy and enthusiasm to beach volleyball. • Esmeralda, who worked tirelessly at the omelet station in the buffet every day. We are grateful to the entire team for their hard work and hospitality. Thank you for making our trip so special. We can’t wait to return!

Ruth (our concierge), Francisco (the world’s most attentive waiter and Spanish teacher) and Carlos (our beach activity guy) made our trip an absolutely wonderful experience. Ruth set us up for spectacular dinners and calming spa treatments. Francisco never let me go thirsty, got me trying new ceviches, and encouraged my slow Spanish. Carlos had us feeling confident in the ocean and our nieces and nephews had a blast. We couldn’t have asked for a better trip, with better people. Thank you, Ruth, Francisco y Carlos!!!!

Grand Velas Oct. 12 - 17. 2024 NV/RN Luxury and Beyond Once again a yearly return to luxury and beyond. Check in is so easy on lovely couches in the lobby. A welcome drink , cool towel and a mini shoulder and head massage. Let the pampering begin. Bell men bring us to our lovely suite with an amazing view. The room is familiar to us, a parlour suite with 2 bathrooms and a lovely balcony. Bedroom separate from living area. The unit has 2 televisions, a mini bar with refrigerator, restocked daily. Wine stocked daily and mezcal or whatever you wish. Coffee, pod type machine, and all bathroom amenities one could need. Shampoo, conditioner, body wash, razor and shaving cream, bamboo handled toothbrushes, toothpaste, mouthwash, shower caps and sewing kits, slippers, along with use of robes and a beach bag for your stay. One could just stay in room and be pampered beyond belief. Room service is 24/7, quick, efficient and friendly and comes hot as expected. Enjoy it on your balcony or on the table in the room. Azul the beach side restaurant was under construction/maintenance so they set up the buffet in an area down by pool. Great idea and surely met its guests needs. Sadly, Piaf, the French restaurant was also having unexpected maintenance issues with air conditioning so we did miss that, but we were pampered 100% so no complaints whatsoever. The pools extending to an infinity pool over the ocean as usual were just sparkling and calling out to us to enjoy. We did and the water was fine. The swim up bar was a lovely treat and drink specials of the day or surprise drinks were the norm. We spent most of our days lounging by the pools, overlooking the ocean. There is an adults only pool area separate completely but there were so few children we did not need to use it. The waiters by the pool were amazing, as they were always anticipating our needs, moving umbrellas for shade, so on, again just total pampering. No need to even think. Food was excellent by pool as always. They have a great kids club, even enticing to me. They also do some great outdoor shows in the daytime for the kiddies and nighttime shows and music for everyone. There is also Koi bar/lounge for drinks, karaoke and more. Twice a day the maids came to clean and refresh the room and then at night for turndown service. It really is a treat here as they go all out with turn down service. It is one of the resorts where we actually take advantage of it as it is done so beautifully. Our private concierge was fantastic. Checking on us, putting in the extra effort and details, Jose or Chepe is our favorite and he knows his stuff. Just another facet of pampering. Our dinner meals were enjoyed in Sen Lin the Japanese restaurant. Creative plates and plating make for a unique experience even if it is not our favorite style of food. Lucca, the Italian Restaurant, has the most amazing mushroom soup I have ever had in my life. Many other great foods including delicious salmon, tenderloin, Pastas with homemade pasta. Everything just great. Frida, the Mexican gourmet restaurant, a true example of the countries offerings. Dishes to tease you senses and show you some of Mexico's unknown foods, not all is tacos, not that there is anything wrong with them and they have those too. How about fig salad with epazote, sour cream and avocado. mmm. Aguachile with shrimp amazing. Grilled octopus. Guacamole made tableside such a nice authentic touch. We always have great meals, variety and drinks to tantalize our senses as well. We enjoyed one day doing the water ( hydrotherapy) circuit followed by massages. The spa is amazing. The hydrotherapy a true treat and so good for your skin, body and mind. The massages are top notch and surely a treat we all deserve. Be sure to check out the spa on your next visit it is well worth it. What more can I tell you our stay was an incredible experience as expected. Everyone should be able to experience Grand Velas and its top quality vacation and pampering at least once. We are so grateful to experience it once a year as a treat to ourselves. As they say as you enter Grand Velas, The magic starts here"! It really does, escape reality. We will be returning for sure. The only negative is: we had to leave!

I stayed at Grand Velas Riviera Nayarit for two nights and only have wonderful things to say about the property. The staff is absolutely fantastic -- always friendly, well-trained, quick, and ready to help with anything. Everyone gets a "personal concierge" who was a real time-saver for dinner reservations, spa appointments, and general questions. The spa is clean and the treatments I had (massage, facial, and hydrotherapy circuit) were wonderful, but the hydrotherapy pool area is showing its age just a bit. Because this is the oldest Grand Velas property, I was expecting it to feel a bit run down, but it did not show its age at all. The gym is especially modern.
My suite was "resort view" but I could clearly see the ocean beyond the pool without having to crane my neck or unpack the binoculars. It is most definitely a family-friendly resort, but the adults-only areas are separate and quite relaxing. Pool and beach service are top-notch. Food quality was very good, especially the Mexican restaurant and pool/beach options. The breakfast buffet could be a bit more exciting, but I'm not a fan of buffets... if you just want an omelet, opt for room service, which is lovely. I highly recommend this resort, especially for families, but couples and singles will also love it. It's worth the price and it is a real 5-star luxury property.

Just wanted to let your staff know that after 6 nights at the Grand Velas we didn't want to leave. The staff was very attentive and the food in all three restaurants was delicious. Our room was very contemporary with a Mexican feel. We were able to lie in bed and see the ocean. I would highly recommend it and have already.
