The service was the worst I have ever had very slow did not care. The rooms are ran down AC did not work doors broken had no hanger to hang clothes up took three days to finally get hangers and blow dryer AC never was fixed. This place should not be in business. I have been coming to Mexico for over 40 years this was the worst mistake of all my years coming to Mexico.

Food 3/5: Steak was undercooked, breakfast order was wrong, and a dinner mix-up caused a long wait. No effort to remedy issues. Desserts were mediocre, but the crème brûlée at Ambar was great. Hospitality 1.5/5: Friendly staff, but housekeeping was unresponsive despite multiple calls. Outdoor couch seats were never replaced, and the hot tub took multiple requests to fill—with ice-cold water. Spa 1/5: Wrong reservation, service time cut short, and discount not honored. Hot tub was cold, and staff was dismissive of concerns. Room service 5/5: Staff was great, especially Dave, who provided exceptional service. Drinks 4/5: Drinks were good, but often left sitting at the bar before being served, even when it wasn’t busy. Overall 14.5/25: For a luxury resort, basic services were difficult to get, and staff often dismissed requests rather than accommodating them.

DO NOT book this report if you have mobility issues with stairs and/or walking more than a kilometer from the lobby/spa to the other end where the pool and the beach are. Yes, there are golf carts to take you, but they can be few and far between, or not at all. As many other reviewers have already mentioned, this resort, while beautifully nestled in nature, is lacking basic room air conditioning, plumbing and hot water. We did not have any room air conditioning for our entire stay. We called 4 times for AC service, but on the last day, we were told as we checked out that there was a "broken pipe", so it could not be fixed. Why did no one tell us this before, or offer to move us to a room that had AC?? Other guests complained about no hot water, so we were reluctant to move to a room that had even more issues. We considered sleeping outside, but there are several animals such as "coatis" like a racoon with a long tail that hunt for food around the patios, and can have rabies. Our bathroom sink leaked so badly, it made the bathroom floor very slippery and dangerous. Towels were not always replaced everyday. The staff is great, some are even excellent, and the food is very good. Everything is a la carte except for breakfast where there is a buffet and a la carte. The beach is beautiful, but it has some seaweed, and there are far too few shade umbrellas for everyone. We did not have one for our entire stay. There were only 9 umbrellas for the whole beach. The pool area has even less umbrellas. Our room was large and had a beautiful patio with loungers and a plunge pool that was a relief from the sun in the late afternoon. However, we had to call several times to get our plunge pool filled, and the only thing keeping it filled was a rag stuffed in the drain. The resort also has "quirks" and inconsistencies, such as only ONE bathrobe, ONE chair at the dining table outside, and several electrical outlets that just don't work, and were never fixed. The bed was very firm, bordering on hard. TV and NetFlix is in Spanish. Housekeeping took our partially-filled bottles of shampoo and body wash, but did not replace them. There was no Kleenex. I know, not a deal-breaker, just so many inconsistencies! Shoutout to Eduardo and Jenny, the best servers who always served us with a smile and kept our drinks filled! Thank you!! While the Blue Diamond is a nice three-star resort, and we enjoyed our stay (except for the very hot room), there are just too many drawbacks and inconsistencies to warrant a return trip. We would never fly Sunwing again, but that's a story for another time!

Second trip to this resort. Very quiet, private and low key resort. We are not aware of another property like this, it feels nothing like other all inclusives, and we have been to plenty. The resort lay out has intent and purpose, to make you feel part of nature. Moving around the resort, you can feel like it yours, its simply amazing that you are not always around other people. The beach , pool and resturants brings people together, but nothing is crowded, and it is all al la carte. We enjoy great food, two week stay and we enjoyed every meal. Drinks are top shelf, we are cocktail people not so much mai tai orientated, but bar service is as sophisticated as the chefs. Take the cocktail class with Gustavo and Aldo, and Leopold - so much fun. The waiters - they make you feel welcome and treat you to high end service that elevates the food and the mood, Thanks to Rael (or Raul - sorry our notes are blurry from the Royale's and French 75's), Bernabae, and your compatriot whom I have lost his name - we enjoyed your service and conversations. To the Management - you have a diamond in your hands, please keep it polished. More bikes, its a huge part of the charm feeling like you are staying in your own private paradise. Air conditioning and housekeeing need some tune up to keep this a top notch destination. Our thanks to the Manager who made his own transport available to get to the airport on time when the private transport we booked flaked. We will back.

First of all the employees are outstanding,Leopoldo at the bar, Fabian for room services and Roman at the Ambar ! Those guys need a raise, they did the best job ever! The rooms are clean and kept well, yes the resort needs a little TLC after hurricanes, but all weeks long ,I saw men at works doing Reno's and everything. The food is great, but not spicy enough for what I love about Mexican food ,but hey again it is an all inclusive and they have to keep the Gringo's Happy (no I'm not from the states,I'm Canadian)The beach was beautiful and well kept (again take a walk and see how other Beach are kept you'll know what I mean)If you are looking for just a place too get drunk and have Beach party's,don't Go there please that's not the place! What we loved about it it's the secluded part, Mangroves, wild animals, tree's and wildlife and relaxation. But on the other hand if we Buy from air Canada just know that the pictures they are selling is about 20 years old, there is no pier or anything, long gone buy the constant hurricanes and weather,( Wich kind a makes sense looking at the beautiful Gulf of Mexico!)And we are thinking about going back next year! With love Room 414!
