"An oasis of tranquility in the middle of nature. The place is perfect to disconnect from daily stress and connect with yourself. The harmony of the environment, the sound of birds and the gentle breeze create a relaxing and rejuvenating atmosphere. Ideal for meditating, reading or simply enjoying the silence. A place that will make you feel at peace and in harmony with the world." We love the peace that comes from reconnecting with nature and with ourselves. Remembering the flavors of my land in the food, the warm atmosphere of the people who give us their smile every time they serve us like queens in paradise

What agreat trip we had this past week at Tres Rios. We played volleyball for 5 days and were lucky enough to play against the staff. I wanted to thank the great staff of activities and entertainment as they were exceptionally great host. They are Alexis, Jesus, Isaac, Aiman, Andy, Mireille, Alexander Fer. Thank you again!!!

This is our fourth visit to Tres Rios. It is not nearly as welcoming, well run or impressive as it once was, And in some places, it appeared shabby or tattered. I recognize that it is undergoing renovations and construction although I was completely unaware of this until my arrival. Had I known I would never have booked. The rooms that have been renovated are now in a minimalist style and when they say minimalist, they mean it. There was virtually no furniture in our room. The kitchen units have been removed, there was nowhere to sit. The lighting was awkward to use and had fixtures just hanging at face height, illuminating nothing. There wasn’t even a dresser or drawers so we laid out our clothes on a built-in couch that was useless anyway. Also, there was no phone service so when when there was an issue, you had to walk to the front desk. We did have an issue in our bathroom and after three visits to reception it was never rectified. The final insult is the fact that as a member of Sunset resorts, but not a member of La Herencia we were unable to make dinner reservations. You just had to show up and hope that they had availability. I find that offensive, it makes you feel like a second class citizen. The only reason I didn’t rate this at one star was because mist of the staff, the chambermaids and servers are eager to assis. Francisco at Portobello is an example, was a wonderful waiter. I don’t think I will return to again if at all, and would certainly never recommend Tres Rios

There were a handful of amazing employees we dealt with during our 7 night stay at Tres Rios. Cesar, lobby bartender-he was engaging, service first attitude, FAB chocolate martini and a really nice guy. Alma of the recreation staff-fun, sweet and wanting the guests to enjoy their stay! Hostess, waitstaff and all food service staff we encountered were friendly and kind. The employees at this property allowed us to tolerate our stay. Theses people should be rewarded for their outstanding service despite the propert having so many issues. I have no doubt this property could be amazing but first they need to rebrand as they are currently not a”Kimpton” property. They are remodeling and under construction. Both of the rooms we were in lacked furnishings. The first was missing anything on the walls and some furniture. The 2nd room was closer to ready for inhabitants, however one bathroom door knob was broken and left me locked in the bathroom twice. The 2nd time this occurred was after it was “fixed”. There was a leak just inside the entry door of the one bedroom suite when we returned from our last day at the beach. It had been fixed prior, but there was clearly a problem that had not been addressed.

My wife and I took the four-night package in August and really got our money's worth! The service from the entire staff was phenomenal. The nature activities, including biking and kayaking through the terrain and rivers, are not to be missed. The beach was beautiful. The complimentary wind surfing boat ride was very special. The quality and quantity of food available was amazing and I am a NYC food snob! And the top shelf liquor was always available! I could go on... Visit this property!!
