People were very friendly and the beach and pool were great. There was no hot water in my room and food was just ok. The room was very clean as were the restaurants.

The resort is very nice and located within a secured village off of the main road. After about an hour drive from the Cancun airport, we were welcomed with a cold drink and a cold towel, seamlessly into the resort and ultimately our room. There was virtually no check-in process, which was fantastic after a long travel day. Some food was offered and then they suggested we go relax in our room and come visit the concierge when we were ready. Ultimately, we were not ready until the next day, and that was fine with all. There was zero pressure from the staff to do anything. It was immediately evident how caring the staff was going to be. We had the Preferred Club King Swim-out room. The room is spacious and comfortable with all the amenities you could need, including a well-stocked minibar. Our pool was clean, comfortable, and mostly private. Most of our stay, we didn't have any neighbors in the adjacent pools. The room temperature is preset at 16C (61F), but our room never got very cold. In fact, I don't think it ever got below 22C (72F), which is much warmer than we liked for our comfort. We had maintenance come look at it, and they did do something which seemed to make it blow more air, just not colder air. Most people will be comfortable at these temperatures, but if you run hot at night, you may want to consider a different room if yours has this same issue. For us, we really liked our room location, so we opted to sweat it out (pun intended). Other than that, the room was comfortable with only minor issues common in almost all hotels, such as a worn-down couch cushion, etc. The bathroom is amazing! The shower is large and has an immense amount of water pressure, as does the shower wand. All fixtures work very well. While this isn't the most elaborate resort you can book in the area, it is also not the most modest. If you cannot get your value out of this all-inclusive, it's your own fault for not partaking in all the food, drink, and amenities they offer. We were celebrating our 20y Anniversary, and so not only did we get a free bottle of wine in the room, but we also got a Champagne Breakfast served bedside and a complimentary Hydrotherapy session at the spa, which was amazing! The entire resort was kept spotless at all times, despite some ignorant guests leaving their trash blowing in the wind. At one point, I joked the staff was like the old Bugs Bunny cartoon, where robot maids would come out of the walls the instant a crumb fell on the floor...IYKYK. Seriously though, you would be hard-pressed to find any bit of anything out of place anywhere on the resort grounds. They have a lot of pride in their work. We have zero complaints about any noise. We experienced nothing of consequence whatsoever. Service was exceptional throughout. Literally every single employee was kind, helpful, and sincerely generous. This goes for concierge, bellhop, front desk, housekeeping, room service, all waitstaff, maintenance crews, entertainers, etc, etc. Just incredible people all around. Now for one of the more important matters to discuss....food. Let me start by saying that we did not require any reservations I assume because we were not there in peak season (our trip was May/June), so we never had to wait for anything, but that may change with different times of the year. All of the dinner-only restaurants serve amazingly delicious foods but note they are not all open every night. You can check this in real time on the available Hyatt app. Portofino and Gohan were especially incredible. We made multiple trips to each. The buffet at the World Cafe is very good and offers tons of variety for breakfast and lunch. Although, the choices do get repetitive on a day-to-day basis. You can always find something you like though. Buffet food kept very fresh, too. There are multiple places to pick up snacks throughout the day, including desserts and gelato. These get a bit repetitive, too, but this is more of a grab-and-go offering. The beach and pool grills offer some delicious small foods to tide you over between meals. The offer nachos, pizza, wings, nuggets, quesadillas, among other things to keep the hunger at bay during your day by the water. There is 24 hour room service, which came in handy for us 3-4 times during our week's stay. Very good choices all day and all night. You should never be hungry. Desires is a bar that offers standard common drinks. If you want to put a few down, this is the place to do it. There are always sports on the TV and they had karaoke more than once during our stay, which was mildly entertaining to watch. The small bar at Coco Cafe is manned by an excellent mixologist who can make you any number of fancier drinks. think Martini Bar but at a food counter. Beautiful and tasty drinks here. The most fun drinks are to be had at the beach and swim-up bars, though. Cocktails of the day (regular and virgin) are a good way to sample different drinks. If you like tropical frozen drinks, this is the place to be. If you like beer, try an iceberg. If you like margaritas, try it with a Tajin rim. Just a couple of our faves, but you really can't go wrong here.
