For our first family trip to Mexico we were keen to mix some culture and the opportunity to relax - the usual recipe for a holiday! The team at Dreams were excellent, our booking allowed us access to their 'preferred' package and this was apparent from the moment we arrived. Their suite for guests was cool and comfortable, the amenities clear. Our rooms, interconnecting with a small pool was ideal for our family needs. The restaurants were mainly really good, with the exception of El Patio which was a big let down as we'd hoped to truly explore Mexican cuisine on site. World Cafe, as the only buffet option, was really well run. The no 'booking' system works (which I found better than having a 'slot' system, which can lead to disappointment) If there's a wait, it doesn't matter, 30 mins at an all inclusive isn't a hardship, right? A la carte and good service. Supper on the beach was delightful and this is where the food (wonderful BBQ and more) hit the holiday note just right. Big nod to Roberto, Preferred pool concierge, a delightful chap. Extremely hard working with an exceptional eye for detail. Likewise Emilio, nothing was too much trouble - very grateful for his help! Overall, great team. Clean, tidy and good value for money. Considerations - We were there at the non-peak time, this led to the evening entertainment schedule being limited and in the lobby (bar one evening which was done on the beach - this was great) We appreciate that with low occupancy this is rightly adapted, but a nice cocktail bar with softer lighting / more seating for a drink in the evening would have been great. 'Desires' club was an option, but not quite the vibe for a reflection on another day being spoilt in a beautiful setting... It did get a little noisy with people singing and talking loudly at around 01:00 coming back from the club - not a killjoy as they're also on hols, but a slight pest. They had 3 weddings (congrats!) whilst we were there. This did put pressure on the dining options with one closed to general use for 4 days as a consequence. Not the end of the world, but it'd have been great to have been advised upon arrival so we could have made alternate plans. Due to circumstances clearly beyond the control of the hotel, this coastline (and more locations beyond this) has been impacted by the seaweed problem. The team did a great job clearing this but it's impossible to fully overcome it. This severely restricted the use of the lagoon for swimming (for us). Once again, this is not a hotel fault at all, sadly an instance that is impacting many hard working hotels.

We have just returned from Dreams Riviera Maya and it was not what we hoped for. We were preferred club which meant you had access to a second pool area. Not much other than that to write home about. Our room was very average and the bathroom very run down. We needed maintenance to try and get some pressure working in the very old shower. The beach area was a brown seaweed soup which nobody swam in. The natural pool was a swamp. The whole time we were there the buffet for dinner was only open 4 times. The first time at an all inclusive where the buffet is shut! But the Oceana restaurant was very nice and a great view for dinner. Only one lift operated for the whole 2 week stay. Only one slide was working…and to top it off we all got diarrhoea and vomitting. It cost me $25 for 2 packets of crisps and some sweets one afternoon at the gift shop- hugely inflated prices. The staff were really good and so was the spa. All of the staff were very polite. It was hard to watch when other guests were being rude. I think Hyatt need to invest in the hotel as it could be brilliant. Fix the broken things, tidy it up, clean up the beach area, upgrade the bathrooms in the room. Open the buffet properly. The highlight of each day was barefoot grill, Mario made the best Tacos and the fresh toppings were delicious. Wishing Dreams luck that Hyatt will give them the TLC they need to make the place better.

My family enjoyed the trip for the most part, and we really enjoyed how close everything was and the convenience of having so much on the resort. Unfortunately, though, the resort itself wasn't quite what was advertised, so I wanted to share some honest feedback. The beach wasn't really swimmable—it was pretty murky, and no one in our family saw anyone swimming in it the entire time we were there. There also wasn't any family entertainment or shows during the entire week. My family expected to see a fireshow or magician but all they had was a DJ playing music at night, the entire week. The game room for the teens didn't have air conditioning, and only one of the gaming screens was working. The water slides were another disappointment. Only one was operational, and even that one had such low pressure that you had to pull yourself along to make it down. Another major issue was the elevators. There was only one working elevator for guests for the entire week, and it was consistently slow and often held up. We ended up opting to take the stairs a number of times just to avoid waiting for the elevator. The rooms themselves were gorgeous, but unfortunately there was a mild, musty/mildewy smell throughout our stay that was difficult to ignore. Overall, it was a decent experience, and my family was still able to enjoy ourselves, but unfortunately I don't think we would return to this resort. I appreciate you checking in and hope this feedback is helpful.

This was our 16th time at the resort. We absolutely love everything about the resort, it feels like home. We are returning February 2027.

The resort is in a nice location with places to visit nearby off the resort. As always in the summer there was seaweed but they have a wall surrounding the beach area so there is some but not the smell that usually accompanies. The rooms were very reasonably priced. The resort is small, but has all the amenities of any other Dreams we’ve been to. The staff or friendly and efficient. The resort is a nice place for a large family vacation, as we all stayed in the same areas while doing activities. We would see each other at breakfast and throughout the visit, but still have a little privacy when we wanted it. The pools seem to be very busy, and with so many people in a smaller area, it was hard to maintain them and keep clean. Our family was pleased with the experience at this resort.
