Hotel nicely presented on first impressions but very "tired and dated" and requires maintenance. It was clean and staff very helpful and keen to please. Food average and quality of drinks poor. Service was overall very good. Very disappointed by the volume of Sargassum seaweed in May. The sea was out of bounds for the whole holiday and the smell overpowering at times; which sadly affected our overall experience. An option to upgrade to the "preferred option" was offered on arrival at an extra daily charge per room. This allowed access to the second pool and other extras. When paying for all inclusive you do not expect to have to pay again for a better experience! The staff in the hotel were great but the hotel is sadly not what I would expect from a 5 star hotel and lacks finesse.

We went here for my brothers wedding. Word of advice, never again. Do not go here. You will feel duped and like you wasted your money. Improvement is needed across the board. It was the worst all inclusive experience we have ever had. The amenities were out-dated(I.e. pools were way below what you’d be accustomed to at a normal all inclusive) and maintenance had been put on the back burner. Toilet seat literally just sitting off to the side at bathroom by the pool, we had water leaking from the ceiling in our room, shower head had to be rigged to work. Activities were non existent. The ones they did have were halfway done and the staff didn’t even act happy to be there. Also, had several occasions where the wait staff at restaurants was rude. The food, well expectations are always lowered at an all inclusive but this was just flat terrible. Buffet was horrible and unsanitary. Breads were stale and other items not kept at a cool enough temperature. The Italian restaurant tasted like they used spaghetti o’s sauce for their “red” sauce. The bars drinks tasted like fake sugar and were not good. The beach isn’t something that they could control but literally couldn’t even sit by it as it smelled so bad. The water looked like pond water and not your crystal clear blues. We felt horrible for my brother and his wife. Just an all system failure across the board. We were ready to leave. We have never felt robbed of our money as much as we did here. I even sent an email while we were there 5 hours into our stay and never heard back.

Service is top notch. Everyone is so friendly. Literally everyone that worked at the resort was pleasant and said hello. Our last night we ate at Gohan, which is wonderful, and they surprised us with a special dessert as a thank you for our stay.

Our stay at Dreams Aventura Riviera Maya was excellent, and the service throughout the resort was outstanding. However, be cautious of the sales representatives in the lobby offering a “free” trip to the Tulum ruins in exchange for attending a 90-minute presentation. The presentation is actually a sales pitch for vacation packages, lasted much longer than promised, and involved high-pressure tactics. The final representative we spoke with was rude, sarcastic, and unpleasant. My advice: If you don’t want to spend half of a day in a sales presentation, politely decline and enjoy your vacation instead.
