Just returned yesteray. Spent several hours looking at reviews prior to booking so I put value in good honest reviews so... First, the resort is small. Thats neither good nor bad just be aware. Getting there is a little sketchy as there is ongoing costruction on the main road entering but shuttles manage fine. First, lets start with the positives. The staff at the preferred level was absolutely first class. Very helpful, cheerful and willing to assist. Shout out to Emilio, Gustavo and Romeo up front especially. All three were great so if you go, find them. They will make your visit special. The preferred lounge is very nice too. Staff alwys cheerful and its a nice place to cool off and have a drink, Second, the spa is world class. Take advantage of the hydrotherepy and the 50 min relaxation massage was incredible. Highly recommend the experience. Third, Portofino and the Mexican restaurant were both really good. Unfortunately the other restaurant didnt open so we had limited choices but we enjoyed these. Challanges: Hotel AC has a tough time keeping up with the summer temps. Plan on having your rooms stay above 21 deg C. Avoid falling into the timeshare trap. The offer to show you the other 5 star property down the street with a free breakfast and two massages is time share. If you can say "no" its not a terrible way to spend 5 hours but dont believe the 90 min presentation time frame. Lobby area is busy. Its really the only place people hang out in the evenings. No bad, just different. Preferred pool service is slow. Understaffed. The 2 ladies at the pool do thier best but they need help. We expected more for the preferred level. Overall, based on years of travel in Riviera Maya I would say its a strong 3 star resort. Resort is dated and you can see that they have been trying to get it up to accceptable standards however the staff makes the difference. Only reason we would consider returning is because of the staff. Now its your choice.

I rarely leave negative reviews, but I feel obligated to warn others about my experience at Dreams Aventuras Riviera Maya. We paid approximately $4,200 for what was advertised as a relaxing luxury resort, but it turned out to be one of the most disappointing vacations we've had. When we arrived, our room was unacceptable. There were what appeared to be fecal stains on the bed sheets, and we found bugs on the pillows. This immediately raised serious concerns about the cleanliness of the room. The food throughout the resort was also extremely disappointing. Much of it tasted stale, lacked freshness, and was nowhere near the quality you would expect from a resort in this price range. Customer service only made matters worse. The staff was generally unhelpful when we raised our concerns, and management showed little interest in resolving the issues. To make things even worse, there was active construction taking place throughout the resort. The constant noise completely ruined the peaceful atmosphere we expected based on the resort's advertising and promotional photos. Had we known construction was ongoing, we would never have booked this property. The experience became so bad that we made the difficult decision to check out early and book another resort at our own expense just to salvage the remainder of our vacation. Despite leaving because the resort was not as represented and because of the multiple issues we encountered, management still charged us a two-night penalty. For a resort at this price point, I expected clean accommodations, quality food, transparency about major construction, and management willing to make things right. Unfortunately, we received none of those. Based on our experience, I cannot recommend Dreams Aventuras Riviera Maya and would strongly encourage anyone considering staying here to do thorough research before booking.

Fernando (front desk), Emilio (concierge), and Ricardo ( pool concierge) were the absolute most outstanding employees during our stay in July. We were meet by Fernando upon arrival, and check in was extremely fast. Emilio came to tell us our room was ready, escorting us to the room, arranging for our luggage to be delivered. Our room was amazing, 7th floor, stunning views from the balcony, and exceptionally clean. Emilio checked on us, along with Fernando, thru out our stay, helping answer any questions we had, and making excellent recommendations for dinners. Ricardo, (pool concierge) was Amazing! He had our Bali bed ready every day, complete with extra pillows ( I have a bad back), and our ice bucket ready with waters. He checked on us numerous times per day to see if all our needs were met, and if there was anything they could do. We only stayed by the preferred pool, but with service like this, why would you go anywhere else! These 3 stood out in making our vacation a very memorable trip, and while mother nature threw seaweed at the beaches, the resort did a very good job at keeping the lagoon section clear for people still swimming in the ocean, and many people were sitting on the beach. I would highly recommend this resort as a lovely place to come relax, walk into town, shopping, and just a over all super place to stay. We will be back!
