Dreams Adventura is one of the smaller resorts that we have stayed at. If you do not upgrade to the “premium” side, you have access to one pool, a buffet restaurant that’s above average, and a few à la carte restaurants that are decent. What really makes the resort is the people, and at this resort the people who really took the time to get to know my family, and to make the experience exceptional, were the entertainment team. In particular, the director Bernice is one of the most lovely people we’ve ever come across. It’s not surprising perhaps that she has a lovely team of entertainment staff who also made our trip great. A special shout out to Edwin Perla and Itzayana. These folks went above and beyond with fun activities and great conversation. Some tips about staying at this resort: the drinks are generally not great with the exception of at the cocktail bar in the main lobby that opens for a few hours per day. Next - the area just outside of the resort is lovely to water around. There is a dolphin enclosure a 10 min walk away that you can wander through at no additional cost. This is worth doing . Lastly, stay away from the ultimate vacation club. It’s the biggest rip off. Don’t waste your time at their presentations.

Had the best massage at Dreams Adventures with Guadalupe. Her pressure was just right and she checked in with me to make sure I felt good. It was more than I expected with hot towel on my back, heated neck pillow and warm slippers at the end. Scalp massage was perfect. Please request Guadelupe, you won’t be disappointed!

We just returned from the most wonderful family vacation. We travel a lot with our kids but Dreams was our first time taking them to an all inclusive. We have a 10 year old girl and an 8 year old boy. From day one the entertainment staff welcomed us and made our kids feel so special. Our kids participated in all the fun activities day after day. Things they normally wouldn’t do. We formed such a special relationship with the entertainment staff, it’s as if we had known them forever. It was the first time our daughter cried leaving a vacation because she didn’t want to leave the new friends she made in the staff. I don’t know if any other trip will beat this. Thank you from the bottom of our hearts for going above and beyond to make our trip so wonderful. Left with new memories and new friends.

Understand that this review is written from a perspective of having previously visited four other Dreams Resorts (2x Dominican Republic and 2x Mexico). Therefore comparison cannot be avoided. The resort is a long distance from Cancun airport so beware, if like us, you have travelled on a long distance flight, waited ages for baggage reclaim and transfer transport. The Preferred Club provided very few additional facilities (e.g. no adults only pool or separate bar area) and exclusivity wasn't policed . Restaurants had limited opening days causing crowding and long wait times in those that were open. Restaurant service was pleasant but inefficient, perhaps due to poor training (e.g. starters would appear after the main course). With the exception of Portofino the ambiance of the restaurants left a lot to be desired. Night time entertainment was very poor and delivered either on a patio by the Oceana restaurant or in a totally unfit theatre devoid of atmosphere. Likewise the Sports Bar was basic and uninviting. The hotel lobby area was very small and provided the only space to relax. This didn't extend to comfortable seating and due to open ended construction resulted in a 'wind tunnel' effect. On a more positive note the main hotel building fabric was very good and our room size one of the best we've ever stayed in with all the facilities expected. As stated at the start, not the best Dreams we've stayed at so sadly won't be returning.
