From the rooms to the gardens and pool, everything was beyond expectations. The staff were lovely and accommodating. Everyone went out of their way to make our stay more enjoyable. I was pleasantly surprised by the delicious food as well. I selected this resort because it is adults only and on the smaller side- I was trying to avoid college spring breakers. It was perfect- relaxing and peaceful. When we wanted more excitement, e we could go into the city or to the sister property. I will definitely return to Casa Velas!

Staying at Casa Velas as an athlete was an absolute dream. From the moment I arrived, the staff made sure I had everything I needed to stay on track with my fitness and nutrition goals—without sacrificing any of the luxury. The gym, while boutique-sized, was pristine and well-equipped with everything from free weights and machines to cardio equipment. I was able to stick to my strength and conditioning routines easily. Plus, the peaceful vibe of the resort made it perfect for recovery—whether that meant stretching by the koi pond or doing some yoga in the garden. The food was a huge plus. Every meal at their gourmet restaurant could be tailored to my dietary needs—clean proteins, fresh veggies, and even post-workout smoothies on request. I never felt like I was missing out just because I was training. Also, having access to their sister property's beach club added that bonus cardio via beach runs and ocean swims. The balance of focus and relaxation was perfect. 10/10 would return for a training escape.

I am not normally compelled to write reviews, but Casa Velas is a magical place that deserves high praise. We hosted our wedding at the property last weekend and could not have been happier with how everything turned out. The level of service and hospitality is unmatched at any hotel I’ve ever been to and the property (both Casa Velas and the associated beach club Tau) is absolutely gorgeous, spotless, and serene. I don’t take it lightly when I say they truly made my wife and I feel like family. The wedding weekend at Casa Velas exceeded our expectations and this was echoed by our friends and family who also stayed on property with us. I am probably forgetting someone (and all the employees are so friendly and amazing) but want to provide specific shout outs to the bellmen Edie and Armando; Miguel the front desk manager; Jesus and Oswaldo at Emiliano; Gerardo at the pool bar; Erick, Rigo, Antonio, Enrique, and Beny (the BEST bartender of all time) at Tau; and of course our wedding planner Andrea who made the whole weekend seamless! Could not recommend enough for a wedding or just a normal stay. We cannot wait to come back!

This trip was such an unbelievable disappointment, and I have debated writing this negative review, but have finally decided that people need to know how we feel about the $6000 plus we spent for a “luxury” week at Casa Velas this April 2-9. I would genuinely hate for anyone to make this mistake like we did. We were looking forward to this trip and had booked a room with a plunge pool. The first thing I noticed was the pool was filthy and never cleaned the whole time we were there. The room was old and tired, and the furniture had seen better days. One very specific thing was this is Mexico and nothing is handicapped friendly. I am not in need of those facilities, but because to many this is important to be aware of. There are steps even in the room which are a serious falling hazard. With regard to the room , housekeeping was very inconsistent and never turned the bed down. If they did show up they removed a small pillow. The bed was encumbered with a heavy duvet which was inappropriate for a hot, humid climate like Mexico. The bathroom had only one sink, the shower did not have hot water, and the toilet was one of those very old low models. Everything was tired. The food was bland and the only “seasoning” used was salt. The food was drenched in sodium which tastes terrible and is extremely unhealthy. The bread was usually okay, but the server only offered it one time, and never came back. I felt that tipping was the main motivation in dining, and every meal they would bring you a check with a space to add a tip. Tipping is for exceptional service and we never experienced that. The food was a major fail. One night another cold dinner. A lady came over to take my plate..ask what was wrong..I told her it was cold. She never offered to bring me another dinner. She took my plate and we never saw her again. Additionally there was a wedding, and these people consumed a lot of what resources there were..they were loud, and poorly mannered. They would eat with one hand and scroll their phone with the other. Do not ever come here with a wedding going on. Those people were the majority of the guests. Once they finally left the place was quite empty. As I said I cannot recommend Casa Velas although the grounds are lovely. The staff is reactive, not proactive as they should be. The GM gave us some kind of certificate for two free nights if we booked two with them. To me that was a gimmick. It felt like the time share routine. In closing I got ill and am still recovering from the Montezuma revenge. I never left the property, but did eat their food. Obviously I would not recommend doing that. I had a nightmare that we had to go back and stay there again. I think that says it all. Reconsider travel and where you stay.

We think this was our 12th visit to Casa Velas, our first was in 2010. The property is so beautiful with approximately 80 rooms. The staff at this resort are amazing! The pool bar staff are wonderful, Juan, Ramon, Ulises and Gerardo all can make a great Aperol Spritz. The lobby bar was handled by Freddy, and always knew our drinks. At Emiliano, food was excellent and great service provided by Avalos, Alfredo, Fatima, Roscio, Jesus, Jerry and of course Daniel! At Tau we were always greeted with the smiling faces of Enrique, Erick, Carlos, Antonio and Benny! Can’t wait to return, hopefully in November.

We just returned form a week of pampering at Casa Velas. The room was fabulous, the food was excellent, and the service staff incredible. The beach club was very private and well maintained. If you are looking for an adults-only place to unwind and be taken care of, this is it. We'll be back.

We stayed at this resort in January and Casa Velas is truly luxurious. We had a suite overlooking the golf course with a private Jacuzzi on the balcony. The staff is friendly and helpful, the restaurants are gourmet and the beach is close. We highly recommend Casa Velas Boutique Hotel as a quiet getaway just minutes from the the airport and downtown.
