Beautiful Vacation Destination

We had a wonderful time celebrating my daughter's wedding. Obispo Sebastian at Blue Dorado Ismael at Hideaway Beach Bar, Mr. Wonderful, Tony, Delores and others at The Grotto were amazing and all made our stay more memorable and enjoyable!

Exceeded expectations!

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 1 day ago

We just got back after 6 days at Dreams Royal Beach and I have to say our expectations were exceeded. We went as part of a larger family trip and had never been to DR before (we had previously done all-inclusive's in Mexico and Jamaica). The resort ground are beautiful and the staff is so friendly. We prefer to spend our time on the beach and I have to say that the preferred section there was great as we never had trouble getting beach chairs and the water was nice/warm and not much seaweed. Our personal butler, Jose was GREAT!! he always checked in with us each day asking how everything was going and he was able to take care of a couple of extra requests we had. If we go back I hope we get him again as our butler. The swimming pools were also nice but we didn't spend much time there (except for a trip to the water park and the slides which was a lot of fun for all age groups). We stayed in the 'old' preferred section (buildings 4 & 5) so the rooms were not as "modern" updated as the newer section that was built more recently, but it was literally only a couple of minutes walk to the beach. Restaurants were fine (our expectations were not high) and we had our best meal at Hibachi. One word of caution, if you are a preferred guest and decide to have your breakfast or lunch at the Seaside Grill -- please be prepared to at least 1hr or more for the food to arrive after you order it. The restaurant was never very crowded but it always took forever so we also went to the buffet were you can get in/out very quickly.

A relaxing Vacation

The grounds of this resort are spectacular and the staff couldn't be more helpful. The food is just okay-but this was offset by the beauty of the resort and the enthusiasm of the staff. A great place to go with young kids. We especially appreciated the welcome and continued attention from Mayker and Eliza- they are a great representation of the resort!

Wonderful Stay at Dreams Royal Beach – A Few Areas for Improvement, But Still Amazing!

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 1 day ago

We had the most incredible holiday at Dreams Royal Beach! From start to finish, it was a fantastic experience, and we were lucky enough to stay in room 4330, which was perfectly located. As preferred guests, we had a 5-minute walk to the beach and were right in the middle of the poolside entertainment and nightly shows—ideal for us! The entertainment team deserves a special mention—they were outstanding! Fun, friendly, and always encouraging guests to get involved in activities like beach volleyball. They made sure no one was left out and really brought energy to the resort. Our favorites were Happy Boy, Jonathan, and Mr. Wonderful. The evening shows were also great, with the Queen tribute show being a standout—one of the best we’ve ever seen! The resort felt incredibly safe, and we appreciated how seriously the security team took their jobs. The staff would often check on us when we got hassled on the beach, which made us feel cared for. The staff were also super polite, especially at the buggy service and when we spoke Spanish to them. They really appreciated it, and we enjoyed picking up some new phrases while we were there! Although we didn’t have our son with us, we were really impressed by the Kids Club activities. The movie nights and other activities looked like so much fun, and we’d definitely consider bringing him back in the future. As preferred guests, we did feel that the benefits weren’t as valuable as expected. The quieter section of the beach wasn’t to our taste, so we ended up enjoying the non-preferred area more, especially since the waiter service there was better. I also felt there was some pressure from the concierge service to stay connected via WhatsApp daily, which was a bit much when I was hoping to switch off. While Mayker was polite and did arrange coffee and mimosas for us, the coffee wasn’t great, and the whole experience could’ve been more thoughtfully handled (we were woken up early on a day we wanted to sleep in). The resort itself is beautiful, and the program had something for everyone—whether it was the gym, the great restaurants, or the fantastic staff. Portofino was definitely our favorite restaurant—we went back 4-5 times! It had the best red wine, amazing service, and delicious food. The World Café buffet was another highlight, with Freddy providing top-notch service and a variety of food options that we could always rely on. The Mexican restaurant was great too, even though there were long wait times. Thankfully, the bar nearby made the wait more enjoyable! That said, we didn’t have the best experience at the Seaside Grill. Slow service and an incomplete meal made for a frustrating evening. We had the longest wait there, and when our food finally arrived, it wasn’t what we expected. The steak was tough, and service wasn’t as friendly as other places. We’d suggest the restaurant improve the service speed and the quality of the food. While the entertainment team was awesome, we did feel the program started to repeat itself after a week. We also would’ve liked a little more variety in the food, as some dishes were too salty and others were a bit bland. But overall, the food experience was positive, especially at Portofino and the buffet! A big thank you to Oscar at the beach bar and Juan M at the night entertainment bar—both made our stay even more special with their excellent service and friendly personalities. A note on excursions: while Smith at Amstar was super helpful in booking our trips, we did feel some of the excursions we booked didn’t live up to the expectations. We’d have appreciated more detailed information about what to expect before booking. Despite this, we still had a fantastic time on the resort and would consider booking excursions again in the future—just with more caution. Overall, Dreams Royal Beach was an unforgettable experience. The entertainment, food, staff, and overall atmosphere made for an incredible vacation. The safety and security of the resort were reassuring, and we always felt welcome and taken care of. We’re already thinking about returning, though with so much of the world to explore, we may not come back right away. But we would love to bring our son next time for all the great activities! Pros: Fantastic entertainment team, especially at beach volleyball and poolside activities Great location, close to the beach, pool, and nightly entertainment Lovely Kids Club activities (movie nights, etc.) Friendly, polite staff Safety was a big priority; we felt well looked after Portofino was a standout for food and service Freddy at the World Café was exceptional—always accommodating and friendly A variety of restaurants with something for everyone Cons: Preferred guest benefits weren’t worth it Some staff (like the pancake makers at World Café) were rude Concierge service could’ve been more helpful in organising excursions Some excursions didn’t meet expectations or were lacking in detail Seaside Grill had slow service, and the meal wasn’t great

Stunning beach, great service, not so great food

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 1 day ago

We were here for a family vacation in February 2025, as preferred guests. Pros: The beach is stunning, beautiful turquoise water, soft sand. The people who work here are very friendly and work very hard. We had a particularly helpful and kind butler named Roberto, who is wonderful. Cons: The food is not good (which is par for the course in my experience in Punta Cana). Breakfast in the preferred section and woodfired pizza was decent, and the family enjoyed the Asian fusion Teppanyaki show. For a family oriented resort, the pool section got very loud at 4 PM with more of a party crowd, maybe those travelling with older teenagers would enjoy. Wait times at restaurants could be extraordinary long, which can just be a pain and eat up time which you would rather spend elsewhere.
