Wonderful escape into retirement

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 1 day ago

My wife and I recently spent 10 days in an Imperial Suite to celebrate my retirement. This was the most relaxing vacation we have ever had. The arranged airport transfer was quick and easy. About a 45 minute drive. Upon arrival, the resort is beautiful and extremely clean. We did not see any litter or garbage at any time during our stay. The grounds staff need to be applauded for how well the resort is kept. The suite was amazing as was the large terrace with plunge pool. We loved the extra perks that came with the room. Breakfast on the terrace (floating heart in the pool with our drinks) dinner on the beach, bartender for an hour on the terrace and the best perk of all was the aqua therapy included each day. We utilized the spa for massage and the aqua therapy that came with the suite. I went to the aqua therapy 7 times and could literally feel the stress being taken away. The food was good, with Le Petit being our favourite and Gusto the second. We were surprised at the Market Kitchen with the vast options for breakfast/lunch and the quality of the food. Feeling like a snack… head to the food truck for a fresh made to order pizza or try the fish and chips. Love that they track any allergies or dislikes you have so you don’t have to raise them every time at each restaurant. The bars were all nice, especially the Golden Bar in the lobby. We sampled many beverages and enjoyed the quality of the liquor brands. The beach did not disappoint. Golden sand and a private area for the Excellence club. The waves were big and the beach was great for long walks. The entertainment in the theatre was okay but nothing special. Dinner on the beach was nice but need to find a way to deal with the tiny bugs that kept growing in numbers on our table and trying to get into our drinks. Special netting? Some kind of spray? What started as something special evolved into something that we just wanted to get up and leave as soon as we could. Someone needs to be creative and find a way to make this as special as it could be and not a disappointment. We were really looking forward to a romantic evening dinner on the beach. The exceptional: Limbo bar - David (trainee) went out of his way with a request for a drink and searched other bars for the ingredient. What a great attitude. Golden bar - Francis was always attentive, great attitude and is very good at what he does. Finest lounge - Jordano who was also our private bartender on our terrace as a perk of the suite. Always smiling and friendly. Great at mixing drinks (Jordano speciale!!) Unique Club Bar - Antonio and his Coco Loco’s and my Don Julio Gold margaritas. Also Elizabeth was truly welcoming to us. The Spa - Jissel and Nerfaly were truly outstanding at helping me get rid of my stress and transition into retirement . Can’t say enough about how good they were. Mini bar and snacks - I do not recall the young man’s name. We had a never ending supply and it was much appreciated. The Beach - Argenis (my family)! He was first class in looking after us, making sure we were looked after with drinks and always had a beachfront spot with towels already set up and ‘Emily’ (the book he placed on the towels to let us know it was ours). Johan who looked after us when Argenis had days off. Both gentlemen really made us feel welcomed. Argenis even called our room the day we were leaving to say goodbye as he had been off the previous few days and we had not seen him. That is above and beyond and what can set a resort apart. Concierge - Beatriz and Rosa. Wonderful ladies that were on top of any questions/requests that we had. There were a couple of hiccups during our stay and Rosa went above and beyond to ensure we were happy. Having the ability to reach them at any time was truly appreciated. Both were always friendly and welcoming. The bad (areas for improvement): - Pre arrival communication, I sent several emails with questions that were never responded to. The way our trip was set up, we had 2 back to back stays of 5 days each (originally the suite was not available for 10 days and we modified it when 5 more days became free) that the booking agent kept as seperate reservations. I asked if he could merge them into 1 booking and was told no. He said they were linked together and all would be fine. I sent 3 emails in advance to ensure we could stay in the same room for 10 days and not have to switch at the end of the first booking. Upon arrival there was confusion that we had a second booking. The night before the end of the first booking I get a call telling me our luggage would be picked up in the morning and transportation to the airport. Not a good feeling when we have 5 more days. The person on the phone was zero help when I said we had 5 more days. More confusion and panic set in and I had to have our concierge look into for us. The return of any one of my three initial emails would have ensured this didn’t happen. Someone should be in touch pre arrival for any guests in the Imperial Suite’s to welcome them and ask in advance if there are any special requests or questions. Would we come back? Definitely! Make a few improvements and it would be an annual trip.

Best Vacation Ever!

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 2 days ago

We have gone on cruises, but decided that we wanted to try an all inclusive. We were pleasantly surprised in basically every single aspect. The restaurants were all amazing. We loved every type of food we had. The service was excellent. All of the workers were very friendly. The gym was big and super nice. It was never overcrowded or super busy. The beach was really nice, and the weather was perfect. A little rainy and windy one day but we still hung out at the beach and swam. We walked down the beach and found gift shops and massages. We did a couple excursions and had a blast. We would love to come back again or try another one of their resorts!

Disappointing Vegan Experience – Not What We Expected from an All-Inclusive Resort

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 3 days ago

My wife and I recently stayed at Finest Punta Cana, and unfortunately, we were left deeply disappointed by the way the resort handled our strict vegan diet. From the outset, we were introduced to the Food & Beverage Supervisor, which seemed odd but we assumed it was for good reason. We explained our dietary needs, but upon dining at Duke's, we discovered that the "Whole Food Plant-Based Menu" was misleading and contained dairy in almost every dish. This confusion continued throughout our stay, as every restaurant we visited had similar issues – menus labeled as "plant-based" but in reality, loaded with dairy and animal products. We attempted to communicate with the staff, but they were either confused by the term "vegan" or offered vegetarian dishes that weren’t suitable. It quickly became clear that vegan options were not prioritized or well understood. After escalating the issue to the supervisor, she kindly coordinated with the chefs, but the solution was far from ideal. We had to follow a strict schedule of where and when we could eat, which defeated the purpose of an all-inclusive experience. We were also restricted from ordering snacks or eating outside of these pre-arranged meals. The real concern, though, was the potential health risk. My wife has a severe dairy allergy, and despite our clear communication, we were served dishes with dairy multiple times. The lack of understanding of basic dietary needs, combined with a general sense of confusion among the staff, made our stay stressful and unsafe at times. While the supervisor’s efforts to help us were appreciated, this should not have been our responsibility as guests. It is simply unacceptable for a resort advertising "plant-based" options to misrepresent the offerings and not adequately train staff on dietary restrictions. Additionally, the overall service was disappointing, with staff often seeming inconvenienced by our requests, and we overheard staff making derogatory comments about us. For the price we paid for an all-inclusive stay, we expected much more. The experience was far from what we were led to believe, and we feel that the resort's handling of vegan and allergy-friendly dining is a serious liability. We will not be returning to this resort and strongly encourage management to address these issues to avoid putting future guests with dietary restrictions in the same position.

Best resort so far!!!!!

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 4 days ago

We had a BLAST while we were here!!! The resort was clean, the food was delicious and the service was awesome!!! Anything we needed was available to us. So great to just be able to walk into any restaurant! My husband and I aren’t huge fans of the buffet and over the 9 days we only ate there twice! It was delicious when we did but we loved that we didn’t have to!! The pizza from the food truck was also soooo good!! I want to make sure I thank a few of the staff for making the trip so memorable: Javier- entertainment crew (full of energy and always keeping us busy!) Antonio, Oxuan and Elizabeth - unique bar (this crew kept us hydrated and fed at the pool!!) Wilkin - Japanese restaurant (so much fun at the show table!!!) Eduardo - great service at Dommo breakfast! Jose - legends Jose- room service Edward - transfer service! I would recommend this resort to anyone and hope they enjoy it as much as we did!!!

Not great for wedding event

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 5 days ago

Nice for leisure travel, just not events such as a wedding like I was there for. Food was subpar - nothing was even remotely hot. Housekeeping not consistent. If you are in the room, they ask if you want service and then do the bare minimum. Only received turndown service one night during my stay.
