We went last year same for a convention. The food and service have definitely improved. Wonderful people and great location. Plenty of food choices and great bars! “One eye cat” was my favourite bar! Great golf options nearby. Rooms have all the amenities you need!

We had a great time overall but left questioning the value. As a thorough vacation researcher I appreciate reviews that break it down. Traveled January with husband, 2 yr old and 4 year old..... Food: Our biggest complaint. While the presentation is beautiful the taste is just average. At the end of the trip we couldn't really name more than 1 dish that was wow! Noodle and Thread was our fav the Italian place, beef ribs was the wow dish. Asian was ok, and didn't make it to Navigator for dinner but had it for lunch. Buffet was also lacking in variety and taste. Also annoying was you didn't self serve which is great for cleanliness but frustrating to wait in line for every station, workers talking to each other, giving you too much or too little. Room service was also ok, the waiters delivering were awesome and always quoted 45 min or less. Just felt for this price of resort food should be wow. Service: very friendly staff but pool service is slow. Dinner waiters usually very attentive only had 1 night being ignored. Other workers passing always say hello and place a hand on their heart. Beach: my vacation must have is turquoise waters. The beach was beautiful!! Soft white sand and bright blue waters. There was some seaweed washed on shore but minimal and no smell. The water has lots of tiny pieces in it so not many people swimming in it but it's pretty to look at! ** tip if you walk north on the beach next door Secrets resort has super cute photo props...parrot wing swing, an over the water hut swing and a hammock. Pool/ Waterpark: pools are not heated so they are a bit brisk. Ocean water is same temp. My kids were unphased and spent a lot of time in there. Hotel has lots of toys and floats for kids so that was an awesome perk. They have a cold hot tub and a huge hot one. We did a cabana one day but did pool chairs rest of the time. They have thick cushion pads and wicker so they were really comfy and my kids could nap. Waterpark was really disappointing. We went to the toddler pool area and they have these blasting water jet sprayers all over the slide so trying to go down it will waterboard you. Both kids were crying after 5 min. Transportation: we booked thru hotel Transekeur and very happy with them. they had car seats, drinks and very friendly drivers that were also prompt. Hope that helps! Great time but just not worth the price in my opinion.

This resort is fabulous. The entertainment team kept me busy day and evening,Amaurys, Daniel and Manuel exceptional. Manuel, the mixologist taught me so much. The restaurants are all different, I didn’t even get to all of them. I will definitely be back

Overall - Nice modern hotel with friendly staff. Food - well presented but bland taste across the board. Drinks - mediocre brands, wasn’t clear what the benefit for club membership alcohol was. Problems - birthday cake with dairy despite numerous mentions and emails about lactose intolerance. Bed sheet was dirty upon arrival. Bland food and drinks.

One of the best, if not the best, all inclusive resort we have stayed. Beautiful beach and pools. Excellent quality and variety of restaurants and good quality of liquors available as part of all inclusive package. The only restaurant not covered by the all inclusive package was the Blind Butcher, which had a cool ambiance and show with excellent quality of food, drinks and wines available. The service of employees at all levels was super respectful and enthusiastic. Rooms and all facilities are modern and everything looks new and well taken care of. There is a sports bar that opens until 2:00 am, so there is always something to do there. Definitively, a resort we will visit again.

I enjoyed two nights/three days at the Zilara over Thanksgiving and found it to be the perfect mix of fun and relaxation. The rooms are modern and spacious (although the term "suite" is used loosely), with huge bathrooms, a well-thought-out closet and large balcony. The mini-bar offerings were kind of sad (M&Ms, tiny cans of beer and a couple of Cokes). Some of the decor in the room and throughout the resort looks like reclaimed plastic-- great idea, but so-so execution.
The buffet was full of delicious, unexpected delights and thankfully, not self-service. The French/Tahitian Brando's is worth the wait and don't miss the ceviche. The steakhouse Waves offers al fresco dining and my steak was perfect. The spa is out of this world. They have a large thermal circuit which is well worth the extra charge. A therapist manages your circuit and walks you from experience to experience. As a result, I did everything, and in the order it was intended. The public spaces are wonderfully designed and easy to navigate.
There are activities throughout the day, much like a cruise. It was fun to watch people doing cross-fit in the pool while I sipped my mimosa. Speaking of which, the pool service was attentive, which I didn't expect at an all-inclusive. Overall, drink quality was better than expected -- premium, but not top-shelf. Upgrading to the Club level is worth if if you want top-shelf liquor, as well as exclusive restaurants and pool. Unfortunately, the service did not extend to the beach, where it was impossible to get a drink and it looked like a gang of spring breakers had just departed after a kegger. Overall, great for people who want to relax without kids around, but also want the option to "do things" -- who like to drink and eat and not have to worry about the bill.
