Secrets Cap Cana Resort & Spa

The staff goes the extra mile to ensure all guests are fully cared for. When the weather didn't cooperate, they contacted guests to apologize and see if they could do anything. This extra attention and care for the guests was wonderful! Will definitely be going back!

I’ll start off by saying that it should be more of a 3.5 out of 5 rating but the people is what made us decide to give it a 4. Just got back and while everything is fresh in our memories, I’ll do my best to give an honest and fair review. The place is very pretty, but no where near a 5 star rating. It’s a decent size property and never did we feel like there was too many people in one area so that was nice. The buildings were nicely decorated, especially the lobby area. The room was nicely appointed and had everything one can want in it, from dual shower heads to fully stocked mini bar to nespresso coffee. Bed was incredibly comfortable and their pillow menu helped make our sleep that much better. We opted to get preferred club and happy we did. Is it worth the upgrade price, probably not but at end of day it’s worth having. The check in process is better, the butler service is a nice touch, the “private” area for beach and pool areas were all nice. However, I will say that nothing stopped anyone from heading to these areas to take advantage of those areas. It would have been nice to have felt little more exclusive. Another benefit of preferred is Rosewood restaurant. It had much better food quality than the other locations outside of Bordeaux, the French restaurant. Now, I say that with the caveat that none of the food at these locations is exceptional, but compared to other restaurants on property, they had the best by far. Sticking with that, the “food” at the other locations was so terrible it wasn’t worth eating. It was our biggest gripe with another secrets in Playa Mujeres Mexico and reason we left after couple hours there last year. There is no taste and when there was some taste/flavor, it was terrible. We felt terrible leaving food on plates to be tossed out but it was inedible. Also need to point out that the fly situation at oceana and sister restaurant was so overwhelming we had to leave. So even when we tried to enjoy we couldn’t The beach area was nice and they kept it clean. Sand was soft and water was pretty and clear. We enjoyed our time there. The spa was good size and had some nice amenities but once again, it’s not a 5 star spa or 5 star amenities. With that being said, we did enjoy our time there even though prices were little high for what you got. Lastly and more importantly, the reason this location gets a higher rating than it probably should deserve is because of the amazing staff that it employs. As with most all inclusive locations, the staff works incredibly hard to ensure that you enjoy your time and have whatever it is that you need. Now we don’t like when the staff keeps putting the review card in front of you to give them a good review because their service already speaks for itself so it does take away from your enjoyment. Outside of that, we had a great time getting to know the staff and we’re very happy with them overall. There are some names worth mentioning, Franky making some phenomenal crepes, Rigoberto and his staff at Rosewood, Fernando and our sommelier at Bordeaux, the lady’s at the cafe, our photographer that we had for our photoshoot, Jackson down on the beach who was with us all day for our Bali bed, junior and lady who’s name began with M who were our masseurs, all my tocayos Jose!!! But it’s unfair to not name everyone bc everyone was helpful and ensured we enjoyed our time. With all that being said, we will not be giving another Secrets our business. Part of the enjoyment of visiting a place is enjoying the food it offers. This is the second time this has failed so badly we can’t imagine going through it again. If they fixed this issue, Cap Cana would be worth visiting.

Amazing food and staff is beyond incredible! special shout out to Guido at Barefoot Grill for the BEST cheeseburgers we’ve ever had! Beyoncé for her high energy, Mini Mi who was always happy and Anuery for always taking care of my husband at breakfast while I slept! I unfortunately cannot remember their names but all of the bartenders at Preferred were incredible, Mr Coors appreciates you all!!!

Beautiful resort and accommodation. Very clean and the pool service was 10/10. The beach is super well maintained and so picturesque. Jeison was amazing as our personal concierge. The one thing we were bummed about was the food experience- very underwhelming and nothing in particular to be excited about! Food overall was 2/10.

I really enjoyed this resort. We had a fantastic trip with wonderful staff. The bar staff were interactive and highly entertaining. I would absolutely come back and recommend to anyone. I never felt frustrated waiting for help and absolutely felt we were being catered to at an all inclusive 10/10 would recommend!!
