Our stay at Secrets Punta Cana had some highlights, but overall, it didn’t quite live up to expectations—especially considering we spent around $6,000 (including flights) for five days. First, a big thank you to our concierge, Alexander. He was phenomenal—knowledgeable, attentive, and consistently went the extra mile to make sure we were taken care of. His service stood out in the best way. That said, there were quite a few disappointments. Some of the resort buildings could’ve used a fresh coat of paint—they looked worn and detracted from the otherwise tropical aesthetic. Also, the decorative water features throughout the property were dirty and murky, which really took away from the ambiance. A little more upkeep and better filtration would go a long way. The check-in experience was frustrating. The staff member who helped us tried to pressure us into upgrading our room, even though we had researched and budgeted for the one we selected a year in advance. After we firmly declined, he turned to a woman behind him and told her in Spanish that we said no—as if we wouldn’t understand. That felt disrespectful and unnecessary. A major issue was the persistent pressure from staff to book spa services. It felt like we were being hunted down every day—on the beach, around the pool, even while trying to relax. The man handing out towels would rush over to help us find chairs, but only in hopes of a tip. I would’ve preferred if he simply asked whether we needed assistance. We eventually started avoiding both him and the spa staff just to get some peace and quiet. Many of the resort’s restaurants are open-air, which would be fine if there were better solutions in place to handle flies and other pests. It was hard to enjoy a meal while constantly swatting insects away. The gift shop experience wasn’t great either. A woman named Darehmat was especially unfriendly and curt, which added to the overall sense that guest experience wasn’t always a priority. I understand that tipping is an important part of the local economy, and I respect that—but when the pressure becomes overwhelming, it takes away from the relaxation we were there to enjoy. All in all, the resort had its good moments—thanks largely to Alexander—but for the amount we paid, the experience was subpar and not something I’d return for.

My wife and I decided to go to Secrets Cap Cana based on a recommendation from our travel agent. After booking, we started checking out reviews on Trip Advisor and the Cap Cana Facebook page. The reviews from both sites exited us even more for our trip. Arriving on April 13th and departing on April 18th, the stay was the best all inclusive resort that we have stayed at in our travels. The staff was amazing and attentive. We were not preferred, but felt as if we were treated as if. Our Concierge Gerado was wonderful, he made our evening reservations for us, made sure our room was stocked with plenty of water, and went above and beyond by surprising my wife and I with setting up our room on our last night with a bottle of champagne, chocolate covered strawberries, and rose peddles. We have been to the Punta Cana area 5 times to 5 different resorts, this will be the one we return to.

The best inclusive we have visited. The staff were amazing all the way through. The campus was just the right size to easily get everywhere quickly. The resort was 94% full and it did not feel crowded nor did we ever have to wait long for a seat at lunch or dinner We will definitely go back. When we do we highly recommend the swim out rooms near the beach. You can still receive service for drinks from the staff. Bring a Yeti on your trip to keep your beverages extra cold 🥶

Me and my husband went last week for our honeymoon and loved it. Everyone was so pleasant and made sure we had everything we needed. Gerardo was our concierge and he was amazing. He answered all of our questions. Ely who was part of the entertainment department made sure we had fun everyday and everything we needed. he became one of our friends not just a worker. We looked for him everyday. I really recommend this place!! it was beautiful.
