Reviews for Zoetry Agua Punta Cana

A lovely resort, but...

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 23 hours ago

At these prices it should be almost perfect. Instead, we were without hot water two different days (fixed when reported,) mold was growing in the tub at the end of our stay, water pressure was very low, we had to press to get a broken plumbing fixture fixed, and room cleaning didn't get done until almost 3PM one day despite requests for earlier service. Having said all that, it's a beautiful resort, the grounds and pools are gorgeous, the ambiance was wonderful, very relaxing, which is what we wanted. The staff are all very friendly, welcoming and helpful.

Wonderful Experience

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 1 day ago

My wife and I enjoyed Agua for 4 nights in a swim-up room. Room was large, but needed a better in-room sitting option (upholstered chair or small couch). Great bed and shower. Food was good and sometimes great. We were pleased to find high quality nightly entertainment - very talented folks. Often smaller/boutique size hotels/resorts lack something to do after dinner - not Zoetry Aqua. And a big shout out to Jordi at the lobby bar. Horseback riding was super fun. Free massage very nice, and we went for longer treatments another day. Oddly, the giant spa pool was warm and not hot. Bugs not an issue until the last day when the wind died down. Beach was clean within the property boundaries, but lots of plastic waste beyond. Would not hesitate recommending this property or visiting again.

Mosquitoes ruined and otherwise lovely vacation spot.

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 1 day ago

The review has to begin with the fact that the mosquitoes are unbearable. The resort is lovely. The rooms are beautiful. The service is good if somewhat slow. The staff is friendly. The food is decent, probably diner quality anywhere in the United States, but certainly not fine dining. The included wines are drinkable, but they do try to upsell you for some fairly expensive alternatives. Beginning with the first night we were bitten many many times despite using the citronella repellent lotion provided by the resort. Purchasing “Off “in the store was slightly better but only kept the mosquitoes away for about an hour. Each day added many mosquito bites, mostly to our arms and legs and produced intolerable itching, which got worse the longer we stayed. The mosquito situation at this resort makes it impossible for us to either go back or recommend it to anyone else.

Excellent Resort

We visited the Zoetry Agua again after 14 year old hiatus.......first and foremost we like to give kudos to the following Zoetry Agua staff....our butler Jose, Team Piragua...Maria, Natali, Yohamna, Eduardo, Monvel, and Chef Fenando. We wanted a quiet and small resort again after visiting the Secrets Akumal in October.....and it was what we wanted. We met people from all over the world....Czechs, Norwegians, Canadians, and Russians to name a few. The Ocean was warm for swimming....and walking the beach was a regular routine. The staff were friendly, the food was great in their restaurants ...Olena, Indigo, Amaya, and especially the Piragua! Our room overlooking the ocean was ecellente. If you go....remember to bring a bug spray that works for no..see..ums! The ride from the Punta Cana Airport is about 50-55 minutes....and as your approach the Zoetry Agua.....bumpy roads and resort construction. We happily paid propina's.... everywhere.....but we noticed about half the guests didn't. We attended the various daily activities highlighted in the daily Sundial....on the WhatsApp....and they were many. We joined the Zoetry Agua discussions group....but it is poorly run....not like the Secret's Akumal Group....so it was difficult to converse with anyone about their previous reviews. We spent nine days there....and had a marvelous time.

Wonderful but not going back

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 2 days ago

Everything at this resort is top notch. The servers on the beach especially Wilca were all wonderful. The water sports guy, Jason is adorable and a lovely soul, all the bartenders were great ….Jeordie at the lobby bar is incredible. Just ask Ana he will whip you up something special. Seeing Leidy at Indigo every morning was always a great way to start the day. Fernando at Indigo is so wonderful and makes great watermelon mimosas. Oliver never gets an order wrong. Both great servers. The food was amazing and the chef made us a couple of wonderful special meals. We were a big group. 8/10 people. The were very proactive of making a plan with us earlier in the day. Wiris was our butler and very helpful…. But he only was with us for a week as he had a few days off. Oliver with the luggage’s was very efficient and helpful Although my vacation was wonderful….. I will never go back to this resort. Everyone in our group got tons of bug bites. The resort sprays and stuff. Weird that other resorts I have stayed at in DR have never had this issue. I must have over 200 bug bites. If you go, bring the strongest bug stuff you can and benedryl for the itch… it is bad.

This place is paradise. I have traveled to beaches the world over and this place is it! The cuisine is artful (I had never had breakfasts like these - they are terrific). The sand is fine-grained. The buildings are thatched-roof with native materials. The staff harvests coconuts from the trees daily. The ocean is emerald green near shore, crystal blue at a distance, and royal blue on the horizon. The rooms are oversized, with exquisite fixtures and slate facilities. The sitting porch provides an uncluttered view of the ocean. They speak English here, and the serving staff is relentless. As you relax in a wooden lounge on the beach, fresh bottled water appears. Later, when you awake, a frozen drink is sitting next to you. This place is not crowded and is intended to provide the isolation you deserve!

Zoetry is Pure Poetry.

Everything you HOPE for in an all-inclusive is presented exquisitely. Not a single buffet in sight. All meals are freshly prepared, even our special order paella. The seafood was so fresh I could have sworn I saw a staff member emerge from the ocean with my catch. From the moment you arrive, you know you are entering a private and exclusive resort - so much so, there's no name on the gate. An open entryway, extremely hospitable staff and very inviting accommodations. They have clearly thought of every possible detail - even on rainy days. Just don't fool yourself into thinking a quick trip will suffice.
