Little St Simons Island is a charming island off the coast of Georgia where the owners have made every effort to return it to its natural ecology. Days are filled with trips led by naturalists who focus on the environment, wildlife, especially birds and tortoises. Quarters are very charming and comfortable. The food is plentiful and excellent.

Little St. Simon’s Lodge is a special place for people who want to experience an immersive nature trip. The island can only be reached by private ferry boat. Multiple daily activities led by very knowledgeable resident naturalists keep you busy. Three meals a day served family style provide you the opportunity to meet your fellow island guests. Some of the most beautiful sunsets imaginable and trip to miles long deserted beach where you can bike on the sand were highlights. The accommodations were rustic but comfortable. Food could use a little upgrade but generally ok. We plan to return!

A unique experience in nature - comfortable lodging, good food, excellent naturalist guides to introduce us to the special environments of this special island. A real freedom from television, though wi-fi was a welcome feature. A bit like an isolated (though mosquito-rich) Eden.

We loved it here! We had our big summer family vacation here, and it was perfect. We had 16 people from 1 to 70, and it was good for all of us. The setting was beautiful and packed with wildlife: fish, rabbits, snakes, frogs, birds (roseatte spoonbills, painted buntings, and flamingos most notable), deer, armadillos, and raccoons. There was a variety of activities: birding outings, a swimming pool, bikes, beach outings, fishing, and kayaking, all made very smooth and easy with the knowledge and helpful naturalist. Every meal was delicious and made and served by wonderful staff. I hope to be back. Oh, and packing was so easy. They had sunscreen, towels, bug spray, rain gear, beach toys, beach chairs, umbrellas, fishing gear, and most anything you would usually have to lug to a beach vacation.

A terrific experience for the whole family. The naturalists at LSSI share lead many different excursions and readily share their wealth of knowledge and experience with the guests. The lodge provides bikes to enable exploration of its numerous bike paths. The blind at Norm's pond overlooks an active heron rookery. No need to bring bug spray because the lodge provides both bug spray and sun screen. The pool is warm and comfortable. No TV, however, the naturalists provide an evening lecture. WiFi is available. Bring your binoculars, bathing suit, and an open mind. With luck you may even see an Armadillo!
