The Boutique is the way to go. Awesome staff and quite and peaceful property. Do not stay at the main hotel if you do want more quite and no kids experience. Fishing in los cabos is a must do. Bring your catch to chef Milton and he will surprise you with an excellent meal. At the pool mesroes David and Jesus will treat you like family. And the best concierge in the business Jair will make sure everything is setup for you. Even on his day off he will text you. Great team and great resort. We will return in the future. Thank you grand velas for a great time

Our 20th anniversary trip to Grand Velas boutique Hotel was nothing short of magical! I've visited many all inclusive resorts but this was the first that was a 5 star experience! We stayed in the grand class suite and it was magnificent. The food was better than most restaurants I've ever visited and the all inclusive alcohol offering was not to be believed! Top shelf everything!!!! The entire resort was pristine and beautiful and relaxing as could be. More excitement could be found at the sister property Grand Velas just a 2 minute golf cart ride or walk away. However, to us, what stood out the most was the service. The entire staff could not do enough. Every single employee was perfect. This is literally the very first review I've ever taken the time to write, good or bad, but i could not let the memory of this trip fade without giving this beautiful property the 5 star review it so deserves.

This was the most perfect vacation of our lives and I’ll never forget this experience as long as I live. My husband and I have saved for several years so that we could enjoy a truly luxurious all inclusive resort for an extended stay. I insisted on 10 full days and even though initially, my husband felt it was too long, he finally gave in. Arriving here, we were immediately met with Velas’ staff with smiles, fresh towels to wipe away the grime of a long day of traveling, and all our bags whisked away. Next, we were introduced to our personal Concierge Brandon who explained the hotel, amenities, restaurants, information about excursions into neighboring towns and then gave us one of their many signature cocktails. Champagne, infused blueberries, and then topped with a gold powder that made us feel like we were truly in another world. We sipped our drinks looking over the buganvilia plants on a balcony above the ocean and we weren’t even 20 minutes into our vacation. Grand Velas is located roughly 20 minutes between Los Cabos in one direction and the town of San Jose in the other. We spent time in both and each were a great time but for very different reasons. Los Cabos is more bustling, lots of tourist attractions and excursions, souvenir shops, bars and nightlife. San Jose is a much more sleepy town vibe. Lots of art and boutiques, quant restaurants, a charming plaza lit up with lamps, flags and a church with giant bells that you can hear throughout the whole town. Grand Velas Boutique is the next door sister resort to Grand Velas. The boutique is adults only but gives you full access to both resorts which is good because not only are there more pools and bars but all the 5 star restaurants of which there are several. Each better than any we’ve had in our lives. Steak and seafood, Asian fusion, classic Italian and home to the only Michelin rated restaurant in the entire state of Baja, Cocina de Autor. We had an 8 course meal, accompanied by 8 separate wine pairings and we left knowing we had just experienced a delicious meal but also artistry. Since we were booked so long, they offered us both a complimentary water treatment in their spa which I will simply say was on another level which left us feeling rejuvenated for the exhausting job of more pampering and relaxation. By day 7 the head chefs, Milton and Omar, found us and said they were worried we might be getting bored with the menu options due to the extended stay. He was wrong by the way but we were still offered anything we could want. We told them to surprise us and were treated to an incredible lobster dish followed the next day by an even more incredible meal. The entire staff made us feel so special and really cared about making sure we had a great time. Speaking of the staff, I’d be remiss to not highlight some individuals who really stand out to us. Our concierge Brandon was always available for anything we needed and always had a smile on his face. Lucero at the pool restaurant was incredible, friendly and so good at her job. Our evening bartender Israel, who made me several of his own creations that were all wonderful. Ask for his marzipan coffee cocktail. Daniel, a waiter at the pool, always making us laugh. Monica, who manages the entire wait staff and amenities department came to us to personally check to ensure we were having a good time and finally, Grand Velas’ most memorable and lovely team member, Marta. I can’t say enough good things about her. She quickly felt more like a friend than an employee. You can tell she genuinely cares about her job and it is reflected by everything she does. One day, I asked for chicken wings, I was told none of the restaurants make them. Two days later I was surprised by the pool with a plate of wings that Marta had personally arranged in secret. It’s impossible not to be happy around her. She just shines. I can’t recommend this incredible place enough. Thank you to everyone there. We will be back there as soon as possible.

I just spent 6 nights here with my husband for our 10-year anniversary. We had a great time! Pros: - The resort was incredibly beautiful and very clean. We had a jacuzzi tub on our balcony and it was sparkling clean. We were right next to the elevators and very rarely heard any noise. The beds were comfortable and the shades kept the room dark, and the a/c worked great - never had an issue with the room being too warm. This is a brand new hotel and it shows. - No fighting for chairs by the pool, each day we were able to sit wherever we wanted and they helped move the umbrellas for us as the sunlight shifted. - 6 restaurant choices for dinner, in addition to room service, which we never utilized. - We loved being able to walk over to the larger resort, and a golf cart was always ready to go if we wanted a ride. - Breakfast each day was fantastic. We loved Hector and his "Hector-style" chilaquiles. We tried the breakfast next door at grand Velas and it was not as good. - Our personal concierge, Ana, was very responsive and helpful. - Bar 51 had great lattes and the little desserts in the cloches were SO yummy. Bar 51 was also great for a drink after dinner and I wish we'd spent more time there! - We loved the tequila and wine tastings! We learned a lot about tequila from Miguel and he seemed to really like his job. Cons: - We came here for the food and it was underwhelming. Especially at Loto. The scallops were undercooked (still translucent), and the steak was well-done. Our waiter there also only spoke to my husband which was odd. - Cocina de Autor was... interesting. We've done a lot of fine dining and this place was a fun experience but none of the food was mind blowing, it was just a lot of average bites. The extra two courses for the additional $ were the best ones, but even that was just ok. The wines were good, we didn't upgrade the wine pairing and weren't disappointed. - The drinks at the pool were awful. Super watery and overly sweet. Maybe they don't want people to get too drunk at the pool, if that was the goal, it worked! The drinks everywhere else were great. - We usually do a spa day on vacation but the prices at the spa here were insane. $350 for a basic 50-minute facial, which with tip would be over $400. Overall, we had a great time and enjoyed an extremely relaxing vacation. I'm glad we came here, but I don't think we'd come back. This was a splurge for us, and I'm not quite sure it delivered for how expensive it was.

Grand Velas Boutique excided my expectations greatly. From the personalized check in process to the beautiful appointed suite I had and the very attentive service, it's a place I would highly recommend. Whales were swimming in front of my room when I arrived, which was great to see. The restaurant was also excellent with very good traditional Mexican food
