Mii amo

I really enjoyed the bodywork I had at MiiAmo, and the setting is beautiful. The food was amazing. What I found lacking was any sort of land acknowledgement of the people who lived in this area before and their spiritual traditions. It seemed overly focused on what the guests would predict, but not introducing them to any sort of history of the people who inhabited the location - their customs, art, traditions and spirituality. I really think that would have enhanced my experience.

Mii Amo is in an absolutely beautiful setting. The staff are extremely friendly, warm and welcoming. My room was super comfortable and extremely clean. They have excellent spa therapists, and the massages were the best. The food was excellent, and the staff was great.

One of the best spas I’ve experienced with wide range of unique services. The rooms and property and serene and comfortable. Food is phenomenal with lots of healthy options focusing on nourishment. Staff greets you by name. You feel cocooned in the energy of the canyon. I did not want to leave!

Will update post stay; wish I could cancel but past the window. For what they charge the service I have received so far is appalling. First, I had to place 3 phone calls to get a confirmation email ("we have problems sending emails to gmail"). Then, I was supposed to receive a call to go over and schedule services...2 weeks later no call. It didn't stop them from filling out my schedule 2x/day overpriced services that I had absolutely no interest in, but had the nerve to open the email with "I’m pleased to share the first draft of your personalized itinerary, thoughtfully crafted to align with the intentions and preferences you shared." After a call to cancel all these services and book ones I might actually have interest in, I receive a cancelation email for 1/4 services I cancel. I was also promised an email with the fitness classes and descriptions. No such email! Maybe the gmail issues persist (such a niche email service...). So I'm two weeks out, I have nothing booked, I don't know about the fitness classes so I can't book services around those, and I don't have any confirm for things I cancelled like a $340 CBD massage they thoughtfully had me scheduled during dinner the night I arrive. At $1200/day I cannot believe this is the service level offered.

I have been fortunate to stay at a number of luxury spas and resorts around the world, but I have never had my expectations consistently exceeded across all levels of the experience as I did at Mii amo. This was my first visit to Mii amo (at the end of December 2024 and stretching into January 2025), and I traveled solo seeking a healing experience amidst the beautiful Sedona landscape with its renowned energy vortexes. From the moment I arrived and was greeted by name by Capri and Dav and presented with a beautiful necklace featuring juniper berries to provide protection and positivity, I felt as though I was about to embark on a very special journey. Indeed it was in all respects. I cannot say enough positive things about the extraordinary team members at Mii amo. All of them get to know the guests and greet you by your first name whenever you see them. Every team member I encountered was warm, authentic, gracious, helpful, and paid attention to every detail. They made me feel like I was at home or with family. I loved the intimate atmosphere (a relatively small property with just 23 casitas, the serene interior design with thoughtful touches to provide guests with a quiet and contemplative respite (including fireplaces in each casita and private outdoor patios), and the magnificent food offerings in the Hummingbird restaurant (including the food and beverage team's willingness to modify dishes or prepare something off the menu if available to accommodate any specific preferences or dietary restrictions). Beyond the incredible team, food and beverage, and the serene atmosphere, every single traditional spa treatment, healing treatment / energy work session, and daily activity I participated in during my Mii amo journey was led by a true expert -- all of whom displayed genuine kindness, empathy, and encouragement. I arrived at Mii amo seeking healing from a number of challenging life events I was navigating, and I left feeling like a new person -- lighter, more present, more relaxed, and happier than I have ever been in my life. It was a truly transformative journey, and I do believe the energy of the land surrounding Mii amo is special and was a contributor to my healing experience there too. I am planning my return visit and intend to return at least annually. I am enthusiastically recommending Mii amo to anyone who will listen! It is far superior to other acclaimed spas and wellness resorts in my opinion.
