Returned to El Dorado Palms via TUI after such a good holiday last year. Grounds and rooms still spotlessly clean and majority of staff really friendly. One of the first differences to last year was the price of Premium room - they were so expensive compared to what we paid last year. Waited to see what our allocated room was like and it was great (Block 37). Liked the jacuzzi bath being in the main room, bed really comfy. Decent minibar (including crisps!!). Only down side was the mattress, bedding and towels not as good quality as premium and was a bit further out from lobby area but no complaints and saved us a fortune! Food generally good. Loved the breakfast and lunch choices. Evening dinner variable. Disappointing there’s limited choices when a big event on. An improvement was seating in bars at night. Much more comfortable than before but not enough. Also might be worth the bartenders removing cushions when raining or have towels nearby when people have been sat in wet beachwear. Not nice in evening wear to sit on wet cushions! Don’t expect the traditional Caribbean beach. This is, to me, what really lets this resort down. Stones in the sand and lots of seaweed. Cloudy dull water. Photos make it look better than it is. Also uncomfortable sun loungers. Lovely photo opportunities around the resort. Buggy’s transfer between Palms and Seaside but only seem to drop off at lobby this year. Had a lovely spa experience but had to go to the reception to get the better price. Extortionate otherwise!! Hydrotherapy experience and couples massage about £185 GBP. This year it was much busier due to redirected guests from Jamaica. Felt understaffed at times but the staff that were there worked hard to keep up. If you’re with TUI, the reps weren’t the best. Last year we saw them at the pool area regularly but this year you had to go to the office. Not that forthcoming with trip advice or helping to upgrade flight home. Also paying for Klay Talay if TUI guests is an insult! ‘members’ get priority for restaurants as it is let alone now charging if not a member. And who knows how to be a member???! All in all a great holiday but partly because of the price being discounted due to going from a different airport. Not worthy of the original price quoted. Would say it’s 4 maybe 4+ stars but definitely not 5. Lastly I have to give a big shout out to ‘Sexy’ Luis at the pool - he’s a credit to you. Fun and friendly and can hold his audience!! Also his dance partner!! She’s fab at aqua fit! Must also mention Jose Luis who was our housekeeper. Kept our room lovely and clean. And not forgetting Petunia!!!

This resort is beautiful, from the pools to the rooms. The staff were kind, hardworking and the place was exceptional clean. The food at the restaurants weren’t the best BUT the beach BBQ and room service was incredible. Highly recommend.

The Entertainment Staff took our vacation to a whole different level of awesome! Especially Luis (sexy Luis), Maria, Jose, and Ximena! They are phenomenal!!! Food is very good! And the grounds are the prettiest that I have ever seen. Each path is like walking through a rain forest. Absolutely gorgeous! I will be back!

Wow what an uncredible time! We stayed 8 days and there was 12 of us and we all had an amazing time! From the clean rooms to the delicious food and drinks and beautiful views...all amazing! The property is beautiful and you have access to the Suites too (foam party is a must!). Staff was all so wonderful too but LUIS with activities really made our week special! He is such a great asset and really helped us have the best time. And we also loved Petunia the raccoon of course;) I cant wait ro come back! Thank you!

I had previously reviewed this hotel back in 2017 and it was not favourable due to the numerous issues we had and misrepresentation sold by Tui at the time. I had stated that I would never return however following an amazing holiday at their sister resort Casitas in 2021 and decision to become a member I thought I would give it another try. So pleased I did as our experience this time has been perfect. Room we stayed in a Beachfront ground floor villa which was exactly what I expected. I know a lot say they are dated but they have everything I needed and location was perfect. In 2017 we stayed in the Premium building which I really did not like or enjoy. Or beachfront room was spotlessly clean. On arriving we had a slight issue with jacuzzi bath however it was fixed as soon as I reported it. Daily cleaning was sometimes a bit lacking but nothing in anyway impacted on our holiday. We had full use of the resort and our butlers Victor, Carlos and Moises ensured we had dinner reservations each evening and checked daily to see if we needed anything that day. Food back in 2017 we had no issues around food as it was excellent and again this time was outstanding. We had one bad experience at the Mexican restaurant and chose that evening just to leave our food and go elsewhere to eat. I would however put that down to it just being a bad night for them as we had eaten there a few days previously and it had been excellent. My favourite restaurant by far this visit was Kabb the vegan restaurant. I am not vegan and normally would avoid vegan restaurants but honestly every single dish was excellent and I would recommend you try everything on their menu. I could not fault any of the meals we had throughout our stay personal favourites were Kabb, Klay Talay and Mia Casa. We also enjoyed A Gala Dinner and Beachfront moonlight dinner both also excellent. Drinks we had no complaints in fact I would say the Sauvignon blanc was a bit too easy to drink in a good way! One disappointment was the drinks menus on the app are not up to date and they no longer stock a lot of the components to be able to make any of the cocktails listed on their app. However the staff will always make you something similar or try their best. We did do the More Inclusive trip to Maroma beach which was enjoyable as we added on the wave runners. Beach and buffet at Maroma beach were excellent. We also have the cenotes and horse ranch booked for this Saturday. The resort was busy but we never had an issue finding a Bali bed or lounger through out our two week stay and some days we didn’t go until early afternoon and always got one. I had just lost both parents a few weeks prior to my travel and was contemplating cancelling however I’m so pleased I did not it was just what I needed. Perfectly relaxing and staff could not honestly do enough for you. We had booked private transport with Tui however after standing around at airport for an hour with the Tui staff the handed me a sheet of paper stating they were unable to provide transport and make your own way to the hotel. After an 11 hour flight then an hour waiting for bags and getting through passport control to hang around another hour to then have a piece of paper handed to you was not acceptable. This in no way anything to do with the Hotel or impacted on my stay at the hotel but do want to just pre warn Tui guests do not book your private transport with them.
