With a flawless design and a spectacular setting, Alila Villas Uluwatu marries Balinese culture with modern design. Perched atop a magnificent plateau abutting limestone cliffs, the ocean below bellows with the sound of crashing waves and creates a melodic echo with every crest. There are 84 sustainably-designed villas concealing interiors that are contemporary and uncluttered, with overtones of traditional Balinese textures including rattan and stone. The multi-room villas, each with its own pool, radiate with luxury and boast such appointments as private bars, outdoor dining nooks, private cabanas, and stylish baths with both indoor and outdoor showers. There is also 24-hour butler service, which adds an effortless element to your stay.

The villa is beautiful. It is secluded and peaceful. The staffs are very friendly and responsive to our needs. We were welcome with snack and drink. The room is spacious and full of amenities including sunscreen and insect repellent. Housekeeping is twice a day.

I enjoyed my stay overall as most personnel is very kind and friendly. Architecture is stunning. I loved the villa design and set up. However the main pool was too warm to swim and enjoy (31 degrees!). Also the property lacks in management and the following can be improved: 1. Too many external non hotel guests at the breakfast, breakfast area is too busy 2. Breakfast service is very slow 3. Breakfast quality is good except all pastries and baked items like pancakes and waffles. Poor quality compared to other Bali resorts like Raffles and como shambhala. 4. Disappointing check in and check out. I wasn’t given a clear run down of all perks under my virtuoso booking. I had to reconfirm the guaranteed 5pm checkout and request to apply the resort credit. This leaves a bad after taste. At other luxury resorts they are very transparent and honest about all perks upfront, and then even try to go extra mile and eg offer check out at 10pm if available. 5. If Alila wants to remain a strong brand it should improve its level of service and management, and ensure best practices. So far my impression of management and therefore their brand is rather sloppy.

From the moment we arrived the property felt completely surreal, like an episode of black mirror almost too beautiful to comprehend. We spent 4 blissful nights here and every day waking up here was exfoliation for the soul. The staff, the food, the amenities, the monkeys… just amazing, thank you so much for an amazing trip.

We had an incredible experience creating fond memories to last. The service was outstanding throughout the resort. Wonderful bespoke dinner cutting Balinese kitchen with matching mocktails, great cooking class incl. visit to the local markets in the morning. Lovely spa. Well appointed villas with pool and great view. Will definitely come back!

“The Alila Uluwatu is a truly gorgeous property with breathtaking views. It was the perfect end to our honeymoon. I strongly recommend the hotel for a private getaway for couples although there were some families present at the time we were there. Definitely a very pricey hotel. The saying ""if you have to ask then you probably can't afford it"" I think fits well. However with views and luxury behind them I figure one shouldn't complain. Really miss waking up to seeing my private pool, cabana and the blue skies and seas of the Indian ocean sprawled out before me. Service couldn't be flawed either. Smiles everywhere accompanied by genuine interest to make sure all was well with meals, spa, rooms etc."
