This place is brilliant for families. Very attentive service and they go out of their way to be of help to you. The food is delicious and reasonably priced relative to restaurants in Placencia. And the villas are huge! Very relaxing time here, thanks very much!

My husband and I were looking for another place to visit after going to Ambergris a few years ago. This place really hit the bill! Very responsive staff, beautiful meals on the beach, and such a lovely villa! Excellent bed, kitchen, and a balcony full of hammock, table, and visiting iguanas... not to mention glorious infinity pools (two of them!) and glorious cocktails. Nikita, the concierge, helped me book two dive trips and her earnest and enthusiastic energy drew what turned out to be one of the best dives of my life .... Thank you, Nikita!

We first visited this property in 2022 and had such a wonderful time that I wondered if it would live up to the memories that I had. Happy to say that this time was even better! We convinced our daughter and family to join us for their first trip to Belize and stayed for 7 & 9 days total, all at Chabil Mar. I had MANY questions leading up to our stay and I appreciated the quick responses. The food was VERY good-we had breakfast every morning as well as dinner 4 of the nights. It was so nice with the very young children to just say "dinner by the pool please" and have the full service! We organized 2 different excursions and both were perfect for our family. But really the majority of the time we just enjoyed the property! Again, with very young children, it was great to have 2 different pools, beach, and dock to head out to. Our rooms were ocean front and just beautiful - loved sitting on the deck to look out over the water. But what really sets this place apart is the people who helped us in every way possible - serving, organizing, maintenance, cleaning, etc. Everyone was excellent. Special Shout Out to Lacho who brought us 4 coconuts so we could "taste the difference". Really made my granddaughters day. We hope to return and bring even more family with us!

Chabil Mar is a wonderful place to stay in Placencia with the loveliest staff. I didn't realize this, but the villas are all privately owned, and the staff manage the units for the owners. Just a fun fact. Our experience there was second to none. The staff was sooooo accommodating and helpful at every turn. We were traveling with family friends and one of the kids got sick. The staff was super attentive and arranged for him to see a doctor and get antibiotics. They checked in on the family regularly. The property is also gorgeous. There are two pools that are good sized. Perfect for our 10yo to have a blast for hours. And the beach is right there. The food was also quite good. The hotel is also a short distance to the main part of Placencia which was super convenient. We walked on afternoon (about 20 mins) and then opted to rent a golf cart from the hotel for a day so we could go back and forth. There's also a nice coffee shop close by the hotel that has lots of drinks and snacks. Our villa was a 2-bedroom, 2 bathroom unit with a full kitchen and washer/driver. It was fantastic. We are a family of 4 and there was more than enough room for all of us. Plus, there was a hammock on our balcony where we could just lounge and enjoy the sounds of Belize. I would HIGHLY recommend this resort to anyone visiting Placencia!

Went with my husband and adult daughter. We stayed in a two bedroom/2 bath villa with a nice kitchen/living room. There was also a covered deck with table/chairs and a hammock. Perfect for getting out of the sun, but still enjoying the outside. The villa was very clean and well appointed. The beds were very comfortable. The grounds were very well maintained as were the two pools. Loved that they had complimentary bikes that we could ride into town. There were also complimentary kayaks and paddle boards. The resort also has a complimentary shuttle that goes into town and will take you to/from the airport. We didn't eat at the resort, so I can't comment on the food. We were close enough to Placencia that we took the shuttle in every night for dinner (the driver, whose name I forget) was so nice and accommodating. Would very much recommend them.
