Dirty Linens... Beautiful views

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 1 day ago

The Villas at Stonehaven were initially let down. You first walk into a hot livingroom. There is no air-conditioning in the livingroom, kitchen or upstair hallway. There is only air-conditioning in the bedrooms. The air-conditioning was not working in one of the four bedrooms. Air-conditioner was fixed day 3 of the stay. The home smells musty as it's been sitting empty. When booking, we requested a crib. Initially the crib was missing, but a pack and play was provided when requested. Clearly, this villa hasn't been cleaned between visitors. Called the front office and Troy informed us housekeeping would get to it the next day. One of the beds, had hair on the sheets. When sheets were changed, a dirty pillow case was placed on the bed. A clean pillow case was provided after request. One bathroom, had hair in the sink and dead spiders in the shower. The furniture in the livingroom is worn and hard. The beds are also extremely firm. On the bright side, the kitchen is nicely updated with everything you could need to host. The pool is a good size (approx. 4.5ft deep), with lighting so you can swim at night.  Cons:  Dirty  Outdated/worn furniture  1 TV Air Conditioning only in bedrooms  Creepy photos on the walls Pros: Beautiful views Beautiful grounds Nice Kitchen  Big balconies  Location to beaches and restaurants (visit the Seahorse Inn Restaurant) Suggestion to Management: Throw out all holey and blood stained linen. New sheets would go a long way. Reupholster or replace livingroom furniture. Clean the area rugs or don't have rugs. If the place was clean upon arrival, we would have looked pass all other issues, because it is a nice place to stay.

A MUST STAY!!

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 3 months ago

When searching for stays in Tobago, someone mentioned that I should temper my expectations. That person clearly never stayed at the Stonehaven Villas. Our stay here set a new bar by exceeded all of my expectations. My girlfriend said, "'This was the greatest vacation location of her life." The villas are spacious, the views are immaculate, and having your private infinity pool in your backyard was the icing on the cake. The staff are extremely accommodating, pleasant and attentive. I'd like to thank Karen, Nicole, Wasipha, Chef Parris and the restaurant staff who served delightful food, drinks and conversation. If you are looking for a stay to enjoy the beauty of the island with peace and quiet this is it. Please note, the villa is secluded so having a rental or personal driver to explore the island will be extremely useful.

Comfortable accommodations with stunning views

My husband and I, along with another couple, rented a 2-bedroom villa. It was nicely furnished and very comfortable. The highlight of the place is definitely the infinity pool and stunning views of the ocean from the patio. The staff was friendly and helpful. Upon our arrival, they arranged for a car and driver to take us to the grocery store to get provisions to use in the fully-equipped kitchen. They also helped us arrange excursions, made restaurant suggestions as well as restaurant suggestions. I do have a few observations to share that are not complaints, but rather things that are nice to know before you come. First, only the bedrooms are air conditioned. The common area gets a little toasty in the afternoon, but remains mostly pleasant on the back patio throughout the day. Also related to the bedrooms - the beds are hard as a rock, just a thin mattress on top of planks. We didn't have trouble sleeping on them, but some might. Second, the restaurant is only open Thursday-Sunday. This was a bit of a disappointment for us, as we were there the exact 3 nights they were closed. Third, the area is hilly and if you don't have a car, even places that are close on the map aren't that easy to get to. We found ourselves taking a taxi to each of our dinner restaurants, even though they were fairly close mileage-wise. In conclusion, I would definitely recommend these villas. We had a lovely and relaxing stay.

Amazing hidden gem. Great staff and beautiful property. You don’t want to leave when you get there. Each villa equipped with all you need making you feel like you’re home away from home. Highly recommend when travelling to Tobago. They are now opened for dinner service with wonderful food and cocktails.

The houses are wonderfully positioned so each room has a fabulous view of the ocean and the blending of the inside and outside space works really well. There's an excellent grocery store 10 minutes away by car and plenty to do near the villas to keep children entertained. Villas at Stonehaven is definitely my family's favorite place to go on holiday.
