What a slice of paradise this place is! We stayed as a family in the 2 bedroom Vice Regal Villa and it was just stunning and so luxurious. The kids aged 10 and 15 loved having their own pool and room upstairs, and also the gym and squash courts. The gym was one of the best we have seen in Bali! The food here - incredible and if you like fine dining make sure you try the Degustation Dinner at Apertif. Our other favourite place was the Pinstripe cocktail bar, the kids would play on the pool table while we tried some of the amazing cocktails and wines. Pool area is stunning and the staff here just so friendly and helpful. Spa was beautiful and so was the massage. Such beautiful views into the valley from the resort too - we really can't recommend this hotel enough if you are after something luxurious and peaceful!

I absolutely must apologise that its taken me far too long to write this review, you see, I haven’t been writing reviews for quite some time this past few years, BUT - wow - this is a review that I HAD to write! This hotel is by far right up there in my top hotels anywhere in the world, and believe me - we have stayed in some of the world’s leading and best! I cannot name members of staff personally for fear I would miss someone out, because there was not one single member of staff, from the gentlemen who came to clean the room, the concierge, the front desk staff, the restaurant staff, chefs, mixologists, sommelier, gardener, spa staff etc who I couldn’t rate FIRST CLASS. And the property itself - wow! And I could stay in that infinity pool all day, soaking up the sights and sounds of Ubud’s jungle. I still have to pinch myself that this incredible experience really did happen! It was as though the staff were exclusively at our beck and call - we would message for a buggy and in under a minute there it was - it was as though all the staff were waiting on our call, no matter what the call was for. I will never forget how magical this experience was and I have absolutely zero hesitation in recommending it. When you leave a property with tears in your eyes you know it’s amazing. Sadly NOTHING seems to measure up after this experience! Don’t think twice - BOOK!

My wife and I stayed 4 nights in a Deluxe Terrace Villa at the Viceroy Bali. This was truly one of the best hotels we've stayed in. Everything was exceptional. The room was large with an oversized king bed, a couch / sitting area, large shower, outdoor private pool and sunbathing area. Everything was spotless and in perfect condition. The outdoor pool area was private with a great view overlooking the river canyon. The food in the restaurants was wonderful and they even had social hours with complimentary drinks and food. The service was exceptional, all the employees knew our names and went out of they way to make our stay special. We also booked a Rice Terrace walk in Ubud that was away from touristy areas and quite scenic. They provided transportation from the cruise port and afterwards to the airport in a comfortable car and wonderful safe driver. Our stay at the Viceroy was a highlight of our trip to Asia.

We spent four night here, as part of our honeymoon trip in Bali. The hotel exudes luxury, from A to Z, from check-in to check-out. Perfectly well-kept, clean, spacious rooms with the option of pool heating which is a nice touch. Overall, one of the best rooms we've ever stayed in. The hotel grounds including the infinity pool, breakfast area, cascades area were all open air, with stunning views of the Ubud Jungle. The hotel staff all provided 5* experience from reception, to buggy drivers, to restaurant staff to housekeeping. Special shout out to 1. Eric who worked as a bar mixologist at the Pinstripes bar - he really got the time to get to know us, and provided great advice and education around cocktails. 2. Wayan who worked at the pool. He really took the time to get to know us, provided advice with regards to the Ubud area, and was generally such a kind soul. Dining: 1. Aperitif - one the best fine dining experiences we've ever had. In all honesty, apart from the stellar environment and service, the food was just spectacular. 2. Cascades - excellent dining option, with again, a spectacular cuisine offering 3. Pinstripe bar - really nice option to spend your late afternoon/evening playing billiard and enjoying cocktails prepared by the very knowledgable staff. Kudos points: 1. Complimentary social hour cocktails was a really nice touch 2. The hotel contains one of the best/most functional gyms I've ever seen, with it's own indoor squash court, and beautiful views of the Ubud jungle. The only note for improvement, without wanting to name people: It is clear that some hotel staff do become cheeky and try to promote tourist activities out of the hotel either through themselves or ''friends'' who can provide tours. This was not received very well by ourselves, although I empathise with the need to potentially make an extra income.

In previous reviews on this site, I refer to a top 3 list of hotels we have stayed in, during a period of 15 years living and working overseas from the UK, and 40 years of travelling the globe. But we have a new winner at No 1 in Viceroy Bali. We are in awe of this place. Hosted in one of the top newly built villas with private heated pool and an amazing view of the Valley of the Kings with its wild monkeys. There is so much to mention about the Viceroy. The Accommodation and Private Pool was fantastic. The pool was very private and not overlooked and heated. The room a Deluxe premium suite was very comfortable with a sofa and TV as well as a daily socked mini bar. The bed was amazing and shower really good. Cascades and Aperitif Restaurants were excellent with Cascades having a well varied menu which we dined in for lunch and dinner for 10 days. We also had a fantastic degustation meal in Aperitif, with the food and service impeccable. The Service and Staff were incredible. Tutik, Chaas, Agung, Tari, Jero, Ayuni, Subrata, Amel, Dewa and, Santi (too many others to mention) looked after us like we were family. Everyone was so kind and polite, thank you to you all including Patrick. The Excursions and Activities consisted of an on-site Cookery Lesson with Nalendra and Dirga where we picked the veg from the garden and then cooked a 4-course meal in the kitchen area where the breakfast buffet is served. Great skills from both Chefs. We also had an excursion with Chaas to visit the Volcano, Temple, Coffee plantation and stopped at a restaurant for some babi guling. In the Spa we had a 60 Minute massage which was excellent, and we got to choose our oils. The Shuttle service every 2 hours to and from Ubud is a godsend and we used this a few times. The hotel Wi-Fi was very strong, and we were connected wherever we went on the resort. The Communication with the staff via WhatsApp was really useful especially when requesting a pickup from the shuttle or something for the Villa. The Villa Condition was superb and ours was fairly newly built. A lot of thought had gone into the layout and configuration and hats off to the owners. Before I retired, I was a Project Director in Hotel construction, which I did all over the world, and I could find not 1 fault in the workmanship of our Villa. A lot of nice touches such as a nightly turndown service, a spice gift after our cooking lesson, Candles from the Spa after our massage and nightly gifts in our room as well as a personalised gift on our departure make such a difference. Was it Value for money? Absolutely! You can’t really put a price on an experience and what an experience it was. Amazing. Thank you Viceroy we will never forget you.
