Viceroy Bali

The best hotel I've ever stayed in, really is a luxury 5 star hotel. The room was amazing, big and spacious with everything you need. The espresso machine was definitely a great addition. The space outside along with the size of the heated pool were also great. The views into the valley were breathtaking. The hotel has 2 restaurants and a bar, all of which are 5 star to match the hotel. The degustation menu at Aperitif was outstanding and well worth the money, each course was better than the last. Breakfast in Cascades was brilliant with the Balinese take on eggs Benedict super tasty and unique. The massage from the spa was also one of the best I've ever had, definitely worth trying out. The free shuttle to Ubud is very useful as Ubud is a great little centre to walk around and explore for a few hours. The service from all the workers was amazing and they really do treat you like family. This is an amazing hotel and worth every penny!

First of all I have to congratulate the staff working at night on the day of my arrival. When away from home traveling I always worry to secure my life saving medications , and what happens to my is the worse nightmare that it can happen when you are due to take your prescribed medications and find they are not there with you, specially when your are far away from your Doctor and country! yes is a moment of panic when you are ready to enjoy a beautiful place what am I going to do specially at night time! well I immediate called at the front desk and a nice person answer with a very nice tone of voice and listened my very serious problem she and her team starting making many calls at the town pharmacy and contacted the pharmacist and stated they have my medications in his pharmacy ! The Viceroy team brought me to the pharmacy which kept open until my arrival. Kudos to this Viceroy team!

The fact that this isn’t rated the number 1 hotel in Ubud is absolutely insane to me. I don’t even know where to begin. First, Bali is the most magical place in the world and The Viceroy might be the most magical of all the resorts and that’s not just counting Ubud. The funny thing is I went in with somewhat low expectations, not for The Viceroy, but for Ubud in general. I’m usually a beach guy. The jungle didn’t interest me that much. Oh man was I wrong. Ubud is so incredibly peaceful and even tho you’re in the jungle you actually have cooler weather because of the elevation. I stayed in one of the new Deluxe Pool Villas (52). I would absolutely request that Villa again. The view and the rain shower were delightful. The food is next level. Like unbelievable. They have two restaurants - Cascades and Aperitif. Cascades is their causal pool side restaurant open for all meals. Mix of Asian and international foods. So amazing. That is also what they use for room service and you can pretty much order the entire menu to the room. Coconut rice pudding at breakfast is a must try. Maybe the best “house” hotel restaurant I’ve eaten at. Aperitif is their out of control fine dining multi course fixed menu restaurant - like a French Laundry. They have two menus. I went twice because there was no way I couldn’t try both. I don’t even know if the pics below will do it justice it was that insane. Patrick the GM is the nicest guy. I had the pleasure of speaking with him a few times throughout my stay. He was always making sure I enjoyed my experience and was taken care of. Lastly all the staff are incredible. This nicest people in the world - just like the rest of Bali. I had the most amazing massage from Lisa at the spa. But the icing on the cake and what made this a life changing experience was meeting Made Gamma. Made Gamma is their best tour guide. I did 2 days with him - the KINTAMANI VOLCANO TOUR and the BEDUGUL AND TANAH LOT TOUR (pics below). The tours were absolutely breathtaking but it was Made Gamma that took them to another level. I spent so much time interacting with him on a personal level - he is my brother for life. Oh and I still came believe how responsible the pricing was for all the above. If you’re planning to visit Bali - The Viceroy NEEDS to be at the top of your list.

Our stay at the Viceroy Bali exceeded all expectations. The staff provided incredible personalized service and the attention to detail was impeccable. The property is an impressive and luxurious oasis in a beautiful setting with world-class cuisine.

We arrived at the Viceroy after a long day of travel and could not have been greeted better by the lovely staff members. We loved that we were checked in so quickly and able to get to our suite immediately. We loathe check ins that take longer than necessary and the Viceroy did not disappoint us. One thing we would have done differently would be to simply take a helicopter from the airport directly to the Viceroy. We only learned about this option after arriving. The trek from the airport to the Viceroy is long and winding - and the traffic is horrible, even in the off season. Don't trust Google maps - it told us the trip would only take about 90 minutes and it ended up taking more than double that. We took a Grab car, which was fine - but the helicopter option would have saved us so much time and been so much more convenient. I advise future travelers to consider this option. The resort is simply amazing! We loved our pool villa. Ask them when you check in to heat the pool - it makes a very comfortable swim after a long day of exploring. The view is postcard perfect. We took so many pictures from the resort. The room itself was so luxurious and we loved the bed. It seemed much larger than a normal King. We loved that the pool was private - suits optional. The staff at the Viceroy really set it apart. Everyone was so kind and helpful and gracious. We didn't encounter one person who wasn't friendly. The breakfast each morning was a real treat. We enjoyed the daily smoothie and the fresh fruit and fruit drinks. The gym was well equipped and with a view to die for. We used it everday and never ran into another person using it. This is the first resort gym I've seen with a racquetball court! We especially enjoyed the free cocktail and canapé hour at the bar held every Thursday afternoon. It was nice to meet the resort manager and experience such a fun experience with other guests. We booked a private day tour through the Resort and are so happy we did so. Our local guide was extremely knowledgeable and happy to show us all over. We did the monkey forest, the rice terraces and a waterfall. Overall this was an excellent resort - by far one of the very best we've stayed at. We would not hesitate to return.
