The desire to create a unique place where people from the various corners of the world come to relax is found at the Hotel Areias do Seixo. Here, a magical yet familiar environment welcomes guests. The hotel is the perfect blend of ingredients that compose originality and comfort. Following a sustainability policy, the hotel uses geothermal energy to heat and cool the floors, but in every room, there are also fans of fresh air. The rooms are divided in four categories: Gold, Family, Land, and Love, each of which are made to transmit a different type of sensations and memories to guests. Its common features include fireplace, jacuzzi and a unique view of the sea and the dunes.

We loved it. We loved the location and the hotel itself is just incredible. A blend of modern architecture with really good and friendly service that made us feel very welcome. Food was also amazing and very fresh. We also tried the SPA and the massages that were great. Overall great overall consistency across multiple touch points. A benchmark for other hotels.

We arrived on Saturday, ready for a week in paradise. By Sunday, the villa had transformed into a live set for Attack of the Flies—200+ swarming the kitchen, living room, floors, sofas, and even the bedrooms. Nothing says “relaxing getaway” like playing fly assassin at 1 am and still waking up to find your room crawling with survivors. We get it: sometimes nature has other plans. What we don’t get is how the hotel staff’s solution was to hand us some spray cans and a shrug. Their “excuse”? Fertilized crops nearby. When we pointed out that the hotel itself was blissfully fly-free, they admitted it gets regular treatments. Villas, however, are apparently left to fend for themselves. They even let it slip that this particular villa is known to have fly problems. So why no effort to help? They flat-out refused to visit the villa or offer anything beyond, “Here’s some spray. Good luck.” Here’s the kicker: it wasn’t the flies that made us leave early—it was the lack of service. A good hotel or reputable villa rental company steps in when guests need help. Here, the staff showed zero interest in ensuring we felt comfortable. The villa was left entirely to us, including cleaning up after a problem we didn’t create, and still had to pack up and go because being completely ignored isn’t what we signed up for. To add insult to injury, when we politely informed the owner, their response was to assume we left the villa in chaos. They even suggested the mess was our fault, making wild claims about food stains and dirty dishes in rooms we never used for eating. Sure, blame your paying guests instead of acknowledging the real problem. This wasn’t just disappointing - it was infuriating. This could have been paradise, but bad management turned it into anything but. A stunning villa with terrible management is worse than no villa at all. Service matters—and here, there wasn’t any.

Firstly the decor for the entire hotel is absolutely stunning - it’s so unique and definitely pays a tribute to their sustainability. We also went to their bbq night which was beautiful by the sunset and great food. However, there are a few bits which stop it from getting 5 stars. I understand why they don’t have aircon, and fans are provided in the rooms, however in a heat wave the fans just don’t do anything and it was super uncomfortable at times trying to sleep. You can get bar food outside by the pool which we did on 2 separate days. However, each day we got a completely different quantity of food despite ordering the same thing twice - the bar man argued with me when I raised this saying it was wrong. We also had quite a stressful check in, didn’t really match the vibe of the place itself when we arrived. Other than a couple of small gripes this is still a stunning hotel.

This place is pure magic. It DELIGHTS every one of your senses. The lobby, the room, the grounds are all like a rustic oasis. The elevated indooor/outdoor jacuzzi tub in the room is decadent. Breakfast is delicious. The Spa so relaxing (my husband had the best massage ever.) Yoga in the yurt with a fire going and tea ready for you is the most zen way to start the day. The complimentary bikes allowed us to explore nearby areas which was fun! (though we couldn't wait to get back. :) And to top all of this off, the staff went above and beyond, especially Maria at the front desk. You will have trouble leaving this place!

We Attended our daughter’s wedding here on a 3 day stay. The hotel itself grabs your attention with its Sheek minimalism as the area is very traditional with small villages and red tiled roofs. The staff were fantastic and couldn’t be more helpful. Outside very rustic with organic kitchen garden and wild rugged paths down to the sea. The wedding party took over the hotel for two nights and then we resumed to normal guest arrangements on the last day. The food was beautifuly prepared and the fact that you see it growing even in the dining room which was an open plan greenhouse structure added to the experience. Would highly recommend a visit here.
