Hospitality done right

This villa conveyed a strong spirit and history of the place elegantly. The food, housekeeping, service were excellent and luxurious. My stay was memorable and definitely raised my bar for 5 star hotels.

5* service from the moment we entered! Special thanks to Audrey and Aurelie who gave the most amazing massages. This experience was the epitome of relaxation with top tier service. Audrey made sure the experience was exceptional from start to finish and made sure everything was perfect for our birthday celebratory visit. Thanks again and we will be a seeing you soon.

Provence at its Best

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 1 month ago

I absolutely loved this beautiful hotel! The entire staff was amazing! Rachel was so patient with me with all my reservations and answered all my questions. Really, everyone from the front desk, restaurant servers, landscaper, housekeeping were phenomenal . Housekeeping steamed my clothes for me to perfection and turn down service was so amazing. It was my birthday and they left me special treats and a handwritten birthday note. They truly all went beyond the call of duty. I can’t wait to return!

Great hotel - only one flaw otherwise perfect

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 2 months ago

This is a very good hotel with only really one flaw (see below). It is a charming old French mansion just 10 minutes or so walk from the centre of Provence. We found the service to be excellent from everyone we encountered. Everyone was warm and helpful. In particular, would like to mention the young lady who checked us in and the concierge who gave us a couple of good recommendations. The room we were in was extremely comfortable and very grand. Liked the way it was furnished. The setting is probably the hotel's selling point - it is a beautiful location and sitting at the pool area is very relaxing. The pool itself is great, as is the nearby jacuzzi. Breakfast is very good mainly for the setting on the balcony. The wine served by the poor could be better (avoid the rose - yuk! - white wine is better) but it's a minor point. There is only one thing really that lets it down - the restaurant. We only ate there one night so it may have been having an off day, but all the three course were bland and tasteless. For instance, I had beef stew and mash and it was pretty terrible - I can do a much better stew than that and I don't cook much. Not sure what was going on with the squashed mash. Even the amuse bouches were tasteless. If you eat in town though (be sure to speak to the excellent concierge as I don't think Aix has any excellent restaurants - our favourite was Le Chastel), then it is a wonderful experience staying at this hotel and seeing Aix.
