Alamos Mexico and the Hacienda

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 6 days ago

This resort is about the nicest we have been to in all of our travels. Clean, very nice staff, beautiful rooms, in a great little colonial town. If traveling to Mexico this will become your number one destination. We flew in with a light plane and were picked up at the airport. Short ride through town to the Hacienda. Great friendly safe town that you can walk in without any hassel. Not a lot of T-Shirt shops or people trying to sell you stuff. Would rate this stay a 10 out of 10.

An Absolute Jewel Like No Other

The Hacienda de Los Santos is a fabulous resort/hotel in every way. I just visited this week for the third time and like the other two could not be more impressed with the facility, the people and the food. It’s without a doubt the highlight of my travel in the year! Do yourself a favor, visit and enjoy the incredible experience Jim and Nancy Swickard have put together since they started renovating the 17th century Hacienda 40 years ago. You will never regret it!

A True Mexican Sonoran Resort

Resorts don’t get much more accommodating than this one. Set in a seventeenth century colonial town the resort blends into the style of the architecture surrounding it. With 32 unique styled guest rooms, all are adorned with antique pieces from the region. Sit back and enjoy the ambience. 4 pools, a theater, a 1600’s replica church, a tequila bar with 500 flavors, a gourmet restaurant, all spread over a few acres of gorgeous grounds.

This was easily the most wonderful hotel experience we have had! The location, rooms, gardens, facilities and food were all fabulous! All staff were very friendly and welcoming. We’ll be definitely going back to this amazing historical little town and gorgeous Hacienda.

Excellent Adventure!

I can't say enough good things about the Hacienda. We flew in with a group of small planes for the Club de Pilotos de Mexico winter gathering. There is a landing strip 10 minutes from the hacienda. The staff was without exception welcoming, friendly, efficient and accommodating. The property is spotless, beautiful and fun to explore. The room was cozy and comfortable with a comfortable bed and enormous bathroom. If you want, you can have the staff make a fire for you in your room. Every room has an outdoor sitting area. The building we were in had it's own courtyard with a small pool (unheated), with chaises and towels. It was peaceful and beautiful. Every meal was delicious and generous, as were the drinks. I requested a vegetarian menu and had my choice of lovingly prepared dishes. At dinner, white tablecloths and candles were de riguer, as was live music. There is a theatre on property where you could request to see any movie you can find on Netflix. The hacienda had arranged some tours for our group and provided transportation in comfortable vans. The village seemed safe to walk around in. This had to be one of the best vacations we had ever had. Highly recommended!
