Hotel Quinta Do Lago

The hotel is situated in the Almancil area of the Algarve, within a huge golf course development. Beautiful setting and gardens. Great place for golfers and if golf is not your interest, there are many paths for enjoying walks around the area with a long walk bridge across the sandbar to the Atlantic Ocean. One should ideally have a car to be able to get around easily. Breakfast in the hotel should not be missed as the restaurant had a great view and the food options were amazing. Large rooms with balconies, and you could watch the sunset if your room had a view of the ocean. We did not realise that tea and coffee facilities were available only on request.

We went to the hotel to celebrate our 50th wedding anniversary and could not have celebrated it in a better hotel. The whole experience was excellent. Staff, accommodation and dinning experience was superb. Nothing was to much trouble and we would recommend this hotel to anyone who is looking for somewhere to celebrate a special occasion. Ten out ten.

The hotel opened in 1988 and we first visited in the early 90’s. Probably about our 25th visit last week with two friends. Everything continues to be well maintained, refurbished excellently, spotlessly clean and of a standard rarely found. Rooms are spacious and we have one overlooking the Ria Formosa estuary (a wildlife sanctuary) and the sea. A terrace gets sun most of the day. Breakfast buffet has ever and can be taken inside or out. The pools are immaculate with an all day attendant. Dinner has a full menu with flexibility to our age related requests! The bar is pleasant and very well run. A big wine list with some lovely offerings. Staff in all areas are friendly efficient and attentive as well as many knowing us over many years. Transfers are efficient and a car can be delivered to avoid airport hassle. So, overall, where else could we go? Just a pity Faro airport taking so long to be efficient and bring in electronic passport stations! Waiting in long queues in your 80’s is tedious!!

Quinta Do Lago has excellent management and staff. The views from the roomr are SPECTACLAR - better than Ritz Csrlton Kapalua. The bed and showers are grest with all room accoutrements needed. The breakfast is unendingly broad and the dinner far better than local michelin Gusto. Go to Green Valley and Cheeky Pub for value/quality.

Quinta do Lago Hotel is our new favourite. Most stunning location. The Suite was amazing, beautifully comfortable and clean. All the staff so welcoming. Good delicious. We cannot wait to return. Manager Daniel available to talk with also.
