About the Hotel

The building now known as Hospes Amerigo went through many incarnations before it turned into a sleek, design-centric hotel in the heart of Alicante. It was first the Dominican Convent of Alicante before morphing into an office block and an apartment complex, and its history imbues the hotel with distinction. Bold details, such as geometrically abstract silk wall hangings, complement a neutral color scheme, while the rooftop restaurant and spa complex draws guests day and night. Alicante’s nightlife is sizzling, but it’s hard to resist a post-dinner massage.

Beautiful hotel making our stay in Alicante magical.

From check-in to check out a truly 5 star experience. The staff are so helpful, nothing too much trouble. We ate our evening meal there on our first night with the added pleasure of watching a Flamenco Show. Pure magic and the meal was actually the best we had. Beautiful room, we upgraded and well worth it. Everywhere in the hotel was spotlessly clean. Everything is thought of, my electric toothbrush died on me and unlike any other hotels there was one available in the luxury bathroom amenities supplied. Would never stay in any other hotel in Alicante. The rooftop bar was fabulous, views of castle amazing and big shout for the perfect strawberry daiquiris. Breakfast is superb. All in all, one of the best hotel experiences encountered. Well done...the business model for the hotel has exceeded itself and the staff are a credit to it

Perfect blast of winter sun

We had a fantastic three nights in Alicante, ideally situated in the old town next to the marina, with easy access to everything we wanted. The hotel is beautiful and the staff even more so - everyone we interacted with was helpful and friendly. They were very good at recommending restaurants in the surrounding area; all of which were brilliant; and even arranged the booking. Cava on arrival was a nice touch. The room is a great size with a comfy bed and tv with a good selection of English speaking channels in case it rains. I wish we’d taken the umbrella from the wardrobe with us during our trip! There was a Juliette balcony out onto a back lane, which was bustling during the day. We had a sliding door separating the toilet and dressing area from the sleeping area, which was ideal for privacy while travelling with friend. The only slight negative was the toilet also had a sliding frosted glass door, which didn’t close fully to the wall. Not so great for privacy! Easily worked around though. I’d definitely visit again if in Alicante!

Great place

Beautiful hotel, excellent location, helpfull staff. We had a junior suite, fantastic room, spacious and luxurious. Nice cava bottle as a welcome. Beds are excellent. Breakfast and restaurant are very good. We had a bad experience, after heavy rains the ceiling leaked water on the bed, and it took a bit more effort than expected to settle the problem (it was midnight), but in the end it was solved and the management took our complaint very serious and gave us a discount. For sure when we come back in Alicante we will stay in this hotel again!

AWESOME

We have just returned from this awesome hotel. A lovely Professional welcome upon arrival, lovely scented reception area and a welcome cava. Are luggage was whisked away to our rooms before we were. The rooms are stunning with a little juliet balcony. Our only issue was with the bath/Shower, which has an extremely steep and difficult ledge into the shower, think it would have been easier without a bath ( just a wet room ) . The staff are always helpful friendly and eager to please. Breakfast was superb with lots of choice to suit all tastes. My new favourite hotel and will definitely be returning to this awesome centrally located Gem

Great Stay

Stayed four nights and feel some of the niggles spoken about prior to our break are slightly inaccurate. Stayed in a first floor dreamer room, aircon worked fine for us if you listen to the instructions provided, great room size with minibar and balcony, yes the outside noise is there but you are in a city, close the door and it’s hard to hear anything. Comfy beds with quality bedding led to a great sleep after enjoying the sights! Bathroom ok, we had a bath with a shower, no flooding but water temperature a little hit and miss at times. Used the pool and sun beds on the roof for a couple of hours and enjoyed our time, it’s small and compact but again it’s a roof top not a wide open space! Breakfast is great, have a choice of cold or cooked breakfasts, no complaints and they serve until 11am! Very central and good for exploring, even provided towels and water when we had a few hours at the beach! To all the staff at the hotel from reception to the rooftop bar, thank you!!
