Conrad Algarve

Writing this review after staying in February / off season. Traveled with family, including 14 year old son. Given the time of year, and potential for suboptimal weather, finding a hotel with an indoor pool that was family friendly was important. While the Conrad Hilton does include an indoor pool, it is treated as an after thought. At times there were not enough loungers for the number of families at the pool, the area was dark and dingy, and the 'hot' tub was not hot at all. We tend to hike during the day, and look forward to relaxing by a pool in the late afternoon. This was not it. We had 2 days of sun, and the hotel did not prepare the outdoor pool area. A full day after the rain, the pool loungers were still puddled with water. On the positive side, the Hilton team members we interacted with were amazing. Everyone was kind, accommodating, knowledgeable, and helpful. Breakfast options were plentiful and fresh. The rooms are large, modern, were a comfortable size for 3 of us, and cleaned/tidied twice daily. Our car was often waiting for us at the front before we even called for it. Overall enjoyed our stay, but would have really hit the mark had the facilities been better for families. May be a different experience during high season.

Wonderful stay in the Algarve. What stands out is the hospitality of the Portuguese, they are authentic people, warm, friendly and personable. From the time of check-in, we were greeted by Iara who not only gave us a room upgrade (Diamond member), she was very warm and easy to talk to, explained to us the benefits of a Diamond member, and showed us what was available in the Resort. This place is magnificent, they have a Spa that has a sauna, steam room, plunge pool (I believe at 11 degrees Celsius) and a somewhat larger warm pool with jacuzzi jets. There is an outside pool in the Spa which we did not use since it was a bit chilly, as well as the main hotel pool which is much larger and not part of the Spa. We ate dinner once at the restaurant which specializes in Portuguese cuisine, we had the Cataplana which was delicious, we concluded it was THE best meal we had in the Algarve, portions are generous and the price is reasonable. The service at the restaurant was top notch, we were greeted with smiles, offered suggestions and even were able to elect an item from the lunch menu, which was still available. The staff in the Conrad are carefully selected, you feel you're in a special place no matter who you interact with. We brought our own car and we parked in the lower level just below the reception area, parking was complimentary. Even though we had been in the Algarve before, this was the first time we stayed in this area, less than 10 min away from Garrao beach, which has several km of a wooden walkway that goes alongside the beach, you can't actually see the ocean but you're hiking right next to it. This is a magnificent area, we're glad we were able to go in the shoulder season, it wasn't crowded, although a bit chilly at times, it was the ideal time to have the beach and the area almost to yourself. Try the hotel restaurant at least once, it will be memorable as it was for us, and engage in conversation with the Portuguese employees, it does make a difference in the whole experience. We would love to be back another time.

We stayed at the Conrad for 5 nights over New Year and had the most amazing stay. The staff are welcoming and efficient and nothing is too much bother. The rooms are stunning and facilities first class. We had such a lovely time and cannot wait to return. Thank you so much.

We had looked at several YouTube videos on Conrad Algarve and it certainly looked like 5-star hotel. We booked through my Capital One Venture X account and received a great 7 night winter season deal. This hotel is absolutely fantastic! The hotel grounds, restaurants, lounge areas. Indoor and outdoor infinity pools were top notch. The hotel staff were the best! I can’t say enough great things about our hotel experience. We highly recommend a stay at this grand hotel.

This is a very nice hotel with tasteful decor and large open spaces. The rooms are spacious and beautifully presented with coffee making facilities and a mini bar. Our room had a lovely terrace overlooking the garden. There is a large swimming pool suitable for keen swimmers wishing to swim laps and also those who prefer a more relaxing dip! The only negative was the limited options available on the menu - perhaps because it was not peak season. Overall a very good hotel and would recommend.
