Once a nondescript public library building, overlooking the Prinsengracht (Prince’s Canal), Andaz Amsterdam has been transformed into a fantastical dream-world by Dutch architect and renowned designer Marcel Wanders. Traditional Dutch art and culture meshes with the present at every turn. Sit in the oversized tulip chairs, read the history of Amsterdam on the wallpaper, stroll through the romantic secretive garden, and take pictures in our Instagram-worthy Observatorium - where the history of Dutch seafaring is retold through light-fixture constellations and Old World maps.

Staff was extremely friendly and helpful at check-in. The room was very beautiful and spacious. The rainfall shower was nice after long days. Would definitely stay here again and recommend to friends and family. It is a little walk to the nearest metro but nothing that isn't manageable.

I stayed one week and everything went fine: the room was spacious and very clean, all kind of services were available, the person who managed my check-in found a solution to the situation I had in really professional way. Also the staff at the breakfast was really good, special attention by the maître d’.

A fun stay in the heart of 9 Streets. A great location, for sure. The room and hotel have cool unique art, and check in was fast. We were offered beverages at check in and check out, which was a nice touch. They also invited us to the free happy hour at the bar. There’s a bunch of funky art all over and everyone we saw was very kind and helpful. Breakfast offered a lot of food, and it all looked amazing, but was a bit lacking in flavor. (Except the cheese. Eat all The Dutch cheese!) For the 30 euro price I expected warm French toast. Both mornings the breakfast order arrived cold, even though it was freshly ordered. If you get an atrium room be aware that you can hear some bar noise from the room until about midnight when they turn the music off, and the lights in the atrium never go off. Probably better to get a different view room. Still a really great experience in Amsterdam and I will for sure be back!
