About the Hotel

Once a nondescript public library building, overlooking the Prinsengracht (Prince’s Canal), Andaz Amsterdam has been transformed into a fantastical dream-world by Dutch architect and renowned designer Marcel Wanders. Traditional Dutch art and culture meshes with the present at every turn. Sit in the oversized tulip chairs, read the history of Amsterdam on the wallpaper, stroll through the romantic secretive garden, and take pictures in our Instagram-worthy Observatorium - where the history of Dutch seafaring is retold through light-fixture constellations and Old World maps.

Highly recommend, Wonderful beautiful stay and location

Staff absolutely fabulous, highly recommend. I was a the last stop on my trip with family and wonderful stay. We were upgraded to a bigger room and added breakfast. Breakfast was perfect, fresh fruit and amazing choices. Apple pie and croissants were the best. Wait staff always attentive.

Fabulous experience during ADE weekend!

I stayed at Andaz Amsterdam during the ADE weekend, and it couldn’t have been better! The hotel had such a fun, vibrant energy, and the staff still made everything feel smooth and welcoming. The room was stylish and comfortable, with a great view of the garden inside. The decor of the room was very beautiful. The location was spot-on for exploring and getting to all the ADE events! I’ll definitely stay here again!

Great Service and a Great Location

The location is great -- it's on the outer of the canal rings, the same side of the canal as the Anne Frank House, about a 7 - 10 minute walk. Right by the little 9 streets area. Rijksmuseum and Dam Square are both ~15 minutes by foot. Service was excellent - we were offered beverages at check-in, and were able to check in about mid-day after arriving from our red-eye flight. A small mini-bar in the room includes still and sparkling water, juice, a couple of Heinekens and a small bag of popcorn, it's all complimentary and it's refilled daily. Rooms are quite unique -- there was a vanity with sink in the open next to the bed, a separate room for the toilet (with custom wallpaper in the Delft style that included tidbits about Amsterdam history), and a large shower that exits immediately into the room (so no privacy getting in and out of the shower, if that's a concern). We loved the quirky decor throughout the hotel -- the designer is known as "the Lady Gaga of design", and there was everything from clogs that looked like faces, to statues of a whispering Prince everywhere, to an AI-generated mural in the lounge. There is a complimentary gin tasting in the lounge most evenings -- we never made it to that but did have dinner in the lounge our first night. The food was very good (we had bitterballen, ceviche, and bread with mustard and truffle mayonnaise), and the botanical-inspired cocktails even better. We would not hesitate to stay here the next time we are in Amsterdam.

Great location! First time in Amsterdam and location was amazing. Very centralized to all the major tourist spots- Anne Frank/ Rijksmeuseum/ Shopping etc. Right on the canal overlooking the water. Cocktail bar downstairs with unique drinks as well.
