Pestana Amsterdam Riverside

Lovely hotel - beautiful building inside and out, friendly and helpful staff, great location, yummy breakfast. Just a few minutes walk along the river into the city centre. Our junior suite was luxurious without being ridiculously expensive. We will book here again if we come back to Amsterdam.

This hotel is amazing, staff are very friendly and accommodating, honestly can’t fault it, lots of nice restaurants nearby if you fancy something different to what the hotel restaurant can offer The hotel also offers a gym, swimming/spa and sauna and steam room Would definitely stay again

Hugely disappointing stay for so many reasons. Main one housekeeping. Room was not properly cleaned on first day,. Dirty glasses and cups left. Second day room wasnt cleaned at all. Never stayed in a 5 star hotel with such a small bathroom. it was barely large enough to fit in the shower cubicle toilet and wash basin. Bearing in mind we had a studio. Our room wasnt in the main hotel but in a separate building so if you want to the gym you had to go outside to get back to your room. Also the separate building we were in had no facilities they were all in the main hotel. No food is available in the hotel at lunchtime. Its meant to be a 5 star hotel! Check in was not customer friendly. Focus was getting me to sign a declaration agreeing to fines the hotel could impose on me. They related to smoking and I dont smoke anyway. Their target market seems to be Viking Cruises not guests expecting a 5 star experience. The hotel is called riverside yet our room overlooked a building site. Dont stay here find yourself a better hotel in Amsterdam

Hello, terrible start to our holiday/ birthday in Amsterdam! The hotel so far has been atrocious. I have booked it for my girlfriend’s birthday and have been let down so far by your standards. I have stayed in Pestana hotels in Portugal before and have had amazing experiences but this hasn’t lived up to it so far. The hotel itself was lovely to start, however we were told that our key cards along with everyone else’s will not be working for today due to a technical system error. So every time we want to gain access to our room we need to go to the main desk to be let back in. This wouldn’t be much of a problem if the actual room was inside of the hotel where the lobby is but we were given a hotel room in another block away from the hotel itself which is dated and grubby. We weren’t told this when booking, if I had I wouldn’t have bothered. I have paid a fair amount for this weekend and have been completely let down so far.

We stayed for 3 nights and absolutely loved this hotel. The staff were friendly and attentive. Our room was beautiful and the bed was very comfortable. Pillow menu available to suit everyone’s preferences. Location is good - in a nice quiet area. We didn’t have breakfast so can’t comment on that, but we had a wonderful stay and hope to come back again soon.
