Pestana Amsterdam Riverside

It’s a great hotel. We were greeted by very friendly and helpful staff who took our bags. We were given complimentary water and sweets. We checked in later on that day and the rooms were fantastic. The spa,gym,pool,breakfast and all the other fantastic services were unreal. I would definitely recommend this hotel. James Carey (15)

A cozy hotel with friendly staff and good breakfast. Stayed here twice and both times have been excellent. Comfortable beds and pillows. AC is a bit loud though and it can be cold during winter time if you turn it off. The staff will of course bring you extra blankets if needed. The hotel is located near the tram which gets you into town quite fast.

The hotel is set in a beautiful historic building along the riverside of Amsterdam. The rooms are well provisioned and thought out nicely. Staff seemed attentive, helpful and knowledgeable. I can’t speak to the food as we didn’t eat in the restaurant. During our stay we were informed the restaurant only served bar food so we made arrangements to eat elsewhere. We did have some drinks in the bar which was enjoyed. My slight disappointment with this hotel comes in 2 areas, the location, although fairly central in the grand scale of a city, it is certainly not what I would describe as ‘city centre’. Trams to the local attractions are frequent and easily accessible but if you are looking to be in heart of the action this is not the hotel for you. The bed was hard and pillows uncomfortable, along with poor quality duvet and strange slippy under sheet. I was disappointed that for the duration of our 4 night stay our room was not cleaned and bed was not changed. This was not for lack of trying by hotel staff but they did not come to the room for cleaning until between 4.30-5.30pm which was always at the time we were showering and changing to head out again for the evening. It seems a really inconvenient time to clean the guest’s rooms, especially given this is not a ‘budget hotel’. The hotel is very beautiful, and I’m disappointed I cannot recommend it more highly.

Great hotel in a historical building in Amsterdam. It takes a nice walk to get to the center and famous museums and that is a plus here, being in a more quiet area of the city, very easy to reach also with a taxi and, most of all, the hotel is fronting the Amstel river. Modern inside with internal designer touch. Very good breakfast. Room are definitely comfortable and super clean with all the amenities you expect for the level of the hotel. Bed is amazingly big and comfy with huge pillows. This is the right address for a stay in this beautiful city.

Excellent hotel. Friendly staff, lovely big rooms with huge comfy bed. Breakfast was lovely, so many choices, especially for me being gluten and dairy free. Bar was a lively relaxing space with excellent cocktails. Thoroughly enjoyed our stay at the Pestana Tram stop was just round the corner so no problem being a bit further out of the centre
