I'm here for 8 nights. The service and location are impeccable. The room isn't overly elegant but it's very comfortable and I'm enjoying my stay very much. The bed is great and provides a wonderful night's sleep. There is an overhead shower head but the pressure isn't great and the water temp could be hotter. Still, overall I've had a very enjoyable stay. I was able to get a competitive rate through Expedia and would absolutely return if I were able to again obtain a preferred rate. To recap the service and location are top notch. There are more elegant hotels but Sofitel definitely holds its own in the comfort department. My compliments to the staff for their good work.

From start to finish this was an amazing hotel hotel with impeccable service! We were greeted warmly and there was a gorgeous cart of tulips in the courtyard. Sofie (Sophia?) checked us in and greeted us with a glass of champagne and infused waters for the kids. We had adjoining rooms and were able to check in early to one of the rooms. Rooms are a great size with nice sized bathrooms. Breakfast at Bridges was fantastic with lots of options. Hotel is in a great location, walking distance to many points of interest. What stands out the most is the wonderful staff and great customer service. From Niels/Nils, the concierge to Val at the bar to all of the front desk! We had a 4:30am departure and they were kind enough to make us up a breakfast bag with some croissants yogurt, fruits, and juices! The hotel is under renovation, we can’t wait to go back and check out the updated rooms !

Stayed for six nights while visiting family and friends in the Netherlands. Hotel is a peaceful and tranquil setting in what can be a busy city. Staff, service , food, and location are all excellent. I’ve stayed at many hotels in Amsterdam over 25 years and this is at the top of the list. A pleasure to have been a guest.

We have stayed at The Sofitel, Legend, The Grand a number of times over the past years and have always been delighted with the standard of service and level of comfort within the hotel. The extremely warm welcome upon arrival was highlighted further, with an upgrade to a Suite with a Butler. Everything was perfect. The room was warm, spacious and cosy and had all the amenities we could have wished for, including fresh milk brought to our room for our tea and a wonderful view of the canal. We had dinner in Bridges and very much enjoyed the dining experience. Things have evolved with the menu and the restaurant since our previous visit, but it is still very good, made even more pleasant with the professional, yet warm and friendly service. We look forward to our next visit to Amsterdam and another opportunity to stay at Sofitel, The Grand.

The Sofitel Grand was an ok property. Upon check, I asked about an upgrade, if available, (per your website), they said they gave me an upgrade to a canal view. A very small dark room. Not at all what I expected, a true disappointment!
