About the Hotel

This magnificent grouping of 17th- and 18th-century palaces, set along the prestigious, UNESCO-protected Herengracht in the Golden Bend neighborhood, brings the legendary True Waldorf Service to the heart of Holland’s capital. Authentic contemporary decor and architectural touches define the 93 elegant rooms, lofts, and suites. The King Lofts, located on the highest floor, with the building’s original wooden beams, are particularly enticing. Probably the best hotel in Amsterdam today

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 4 days ago

Immaculate hotel in every way. Amazing vibe and decor, fantastic attentive staff making you feel welcomed! Due to NL Covid restrictions the restaurants were not open, but the in room dining options were great and the food was delicious. Room was beautiful and spacious. Bathroom had both bathtub and separate shower and luxurious Guerlain amenities. Pool access is 24 hours. This is best hotel in Amsterdam and in the top tier of hotels in Europe!

Canal-Side Perfection: The Waldorf Astoria Experience

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 5 days ago

Stayed at the Waldorf Astoria Amsterdam during my recent trip, and I can confidently say it was one of the best hotel experiences I’ve ever had. Everything about this hotel was exceptional, from the moment I arrived to the moment I left. Location The location is perfect, right along the Herengracht canal in the heart of Amsterdam. It’s close to everything you’d want to explore in the city while still feeling peaceful and luxurious. The Room The room was beautiful, spacious, and well-appointed with every detail carefully thought out. They upgraded me upon arrival, which made the experience even more special. The bed was incredibly comfortable, and the views of the canal added a perfect touch of charm. Service The service was flawless—truly 10 out of 10. Every staff member went above and beyond to make my stay perfect. They were attentive, warm, and proactive, ensuring every need was met before I even had to ask. Food and Breakfast The food at the Waldorf was another highlight. Breakfast was exceptional, with a wide variety of delicious options, all impeccably presented and served. Dining here felt like a treat every single time. Everything about the Waldorf Astoria Amsterdam was fantastic. From the amazing location to the outstanding service, this hotel exceeded all my expectations. It’s the perfect place to stay for anyone looking to experience Amsterdam in true luxury.

Masterclass in Hospitality Excellence

This place understands the art of hospitality. The thoughtful touches throughout our stay made it special - from the welcome amenities to the personalized recommendations from the concierge. The rooms are spacious and well-designed, with incredibly comfortable furnishings. The breakfast buffet was extensive and fresh, and the service staff remembered our preferences after just one

Avoid this hotel

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 1 month ago

We paid €1700 per night for a room. They said we could check in early. Our flight landed and we did arrive at the hotel but they said our room was not ready. They had a sort of lounge (no real place to eat or drink post breakfast and pre dinner). At noon we check in and they said our room was not ready. Finally a few minutes after 3 pm which was the official check in time the check in desk merely opened his drawer and gave us the keys with no indication how long our room had been ready. The guide they recommended was not very good. We did ask their sommelier to decant a specific wine for dinner for two hours prior to our reservation which he did not do. Dinner was served over fiver hours and still not complete. I will not stay here again

Best Urban Hotel Experience Ever

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 2 months ago

I can honestly say that this was the best hotel experience I have ever had in an urban setting. My spouse and I stayed here 3 nights, and everything was perfect. The service was beyond excellent - welcoming, friendly and refined, without being snobby. It was our wedding anniversary and were were provided with excellent chocolates and champagne every night upon returning to our room. Our room was fantastic; huge space, comfortable bed, with a beautiful bathroom. It was on the main floor and overlooking the canal. The location was excellent and walking (or biking!) distance to most places in the city. Breakfast was absolutely fantastic, and the servers were as pleasant as the other staff. We are Hilton diamond members, and the breakfast that was included was far superior to any that we have ever had in North America. We were shown around the hotel and explained the historical significance of each of the homes (the hotel is set in a series of connected historic mansions from the Dutch golden age). The hotel makes its own honey from an onsite apiary, and the grounds are small, but beautiful (a little oasis in the heart of Amsterdam). I can't say enough good things about this hotel. This was truly a 5-star experience from start to finish. The hotel is not cheap, and I often feel disappointed after splurging on a high-end place, but this hotel is a destination in and of itself and was well worth the price. I would absolutely stay here again - in fact, I often think of making a detour to Amsterdam just to return to this hotel!
