Great Family Experience at Aurora!

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 10 hours ago

just got back yesterday from staying a week at Aurora. I cant really say much negative about this so you should definitely go if you are on the fence. we went with my 5 yr old, and my mother and my husband. we stayed at Merrywing Suites. We enjoyed going back and forth between the 2 sides. I thought that Merrywing has the best pool and Rendevous has the best beach but really you cant go wrong either side. Its easy to go back and forth as the shuttles come all day. Free breakfast was good, we ate at Rendevous side a few mornings and it was more choices but busier - the merrywing breakfast was less busy and plus we usually liked to go to merrywing pool so it works for us. we did not eat a ton of dinners at the hotel - its best to go out (Sharkeys, Straw Hat, Blanchards, OceanEcho were all fabulous). We had 1 dinner meal at the hotel and it was meh service but i inform mgmt and they appologized. I would have liked to try Tokyo Bay but my mom and kid aren't really into that type of food and the kids menu was not really anything my kid will like. my kid loved the water park, it was great and also he loved playing mini golf. the adventure center (tennis, pickleball, water park, etc) was all pretty new and in great condition. we played some tennis and even got to play with the pro June for a little bit and he was awesome- he played a little with me when they were about to close and it was sooo fun and great workout. I didnt do the tennis clinic since it was for beginners but tons of activities everyday you can do - we didnt do any of them but they looked like they would be good (clinics and gym classes). the service at the pools/beaches were great and its easy to get food or drinks, especially at Merry wing Pool- the folks are very attentive. I cant remember their names but the ladies that work at this pool were top notch! So easy to get drinks and fast. Jermaine was an amazing asset to this place - my son LOVED him. He said he was his "favorite person at the hotel" - All the staff made sure to talk to my son and they remembered his name and ask him about his time at the hotel. Jermaine went the extra mile to fix his toy boat with Glue - because it broke while were there. Cabs are easy to get and the concierge and front desk helped us get all the good reservations we wanted. The rooms are huge and nice and cant really complain about the rooms at all. They have free water all over the place and free sunscreen. If you need to go souvenir shopping take a cab to IRIE Life - They have great souvenirs. Not many shops. Good grocery store close buy is BestBuy- they also have beer and wine. There's also 1 Super nice bartender at Merrywing Lobby Bar ( I forgot his name but he's from Dominican). We got to talk with him and he was very nice. The staff really is wonderful. Thanks Aurora for a great time!

You can do better

This hotel is really over-rated, cheap and at best a 3 star experience at a 5 star price. Perhaps coasting on the reputation of the CuisinArt for a little too long. Not worth the money. Not worth the hassle. Nice beach though. Anguilla has so many charms unfortunately this hotel is not one of them I highly recommend going tu a different place.

We loved every second of our stay at Aurora. Justin Time, Takiesha and Jay were so hospitable and welcoming. We will definitely be back. The waterpark was a huge hit for our kids (8 and 10). The views were stunning. The service was phenomenal!

Amazing Family Vacation

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 2 weeks ago

I recently travelled to Aurora for 4 nights with my wife & 2 young daughters (age 4 and 10 months) and was blown away by the treatment of the ENTIRE staff to my daughters. Everyone from check-in, to the wait staff, to the shuttle driver (JUSTIN TIME) was just quite amazing. The Aurora staff treats every as if they are family and it really shows. What we loved most about this resort is the quiet laid back vibe, no fighting for pool, beach or water park chairs and able to walk into any of the restaurants at any given time without a reservation made my families experience so much better. Travelling with young kids being bound to reservations is quite difficult. The Restaurants - for dinners we dined at Breezes on their Sunday night special, Tokyo Bay (Hibachi), and had Olivia room service to our patio. All the restaurants were very good but were most pleasantly surprised by the quality of the Hibachi. The quality of the food was high end and we were thrilled. We also dined at Chefs Table for buffet style breakfast and have never seen my daughters eat so much. The Staff - again I cannot say this enough everyone treated our daughters like little princesses even calling them such throughout the entire stay. Special shout out to JUST-IN TIME the shuttle driver who took us back and forth between the Rendezvous side and Merrywig side multiple times throughout the day. He even pulled over the shuttle and took a great photo of us on the golf course. Also Dave at D Richards makes the best Rum punch I have ever had (special family recipe he mentioned!) He also set us up at a wonderful table for drinks behind 18 green for one of the most scenic views of the resort. That was for sure one of the highlights! The water park is extremely clean and well put together with lots of games and stuff for kids. The splash pad is just the perfect layout. One thing I would point out is a recommendation to stay on the Rendezvous side vs the Merrywig side. Nothing wrong with the Merrywig side but the Rendezvous side is more updated with more restaurant choices. We found ourselves shuttling over quite frequently which isn't a problem as shuttle service is very quick and prompt for pickup. It was quite sad leaving this resort, but we will for sure return someday!

Fabulous resort— even better staff

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 2 weeks ago

Huge fan of this resort. Sure, Four Seasons is beautiful but the privacy that we experienced (and the service) at Aurora far exceeded my expectations. Should you go to Aurora, ask for Justin Time. He will make your stay there 10x better and he comes just in time ;) For example— he was able to book a massage at a time that no one else in our group could, he booked reservations at restaurants, and he has the most friendly disposition— so he is a true breath of fresh air. This was a much needed trip and I returned home very relaxed and at peace.
