Antigua is the kind of place where local kids chase soccer balls around plaza fountains and marimba bands hold impromptu concerts in the park. You can experience this quaint lifestyle while staying in a luxury at the Porta Hotel Antigua. The overall stay was pleasant. Every staff member was attentive. Clean room, and bathroom. The beds were comfortable. The resort was beautiful. Would highly recommend staying there, if it’s your first time visiting. The overall stay was pleasant.

After much research, I selected Porta Hotel Antigua for our 2 night stay over New Year's Eve. I was drawn to the location and the price wasn't too crazy for our family of 5 (we needed 2 rooms). We were in the "annex" and not the main building. This location was definitely quieter and there is a convenient underground tunnel connecting the 2 buildings. The location is great, very walkable to most of Antigua's attractions. The staff is lovely. The photos don't do it justice - the rooms are nicer than they look in the photos. I liked the filtered water in the rooms and the very good Guatemalan coffee packets. Our daughters room had a constant smell of sewage - but since the girls didn't comment I didn't mention it to the staff. The buffet breakfast was very good, and those of us that didn't want the buffet were able to order a la carte, which I appreciated. I had initially spoken to the hotel about booking their New Years Eve dinner - but with 2 vegetarian daughters, the menu offered very few options so I cancelled. The hotel tried to charge me for this upon check out and insisted I showed them a copy of the email where I cancelled - which I had. This should have been addressed at check in and I was disappointed in how they handled this. Overall, I would recommend this hotel, it's a convenient place to stay in Antigua.

We just got massages here but it was one of the best massages I have ever had and very much welcomed after climbing Mount Acatenango. There is a sauna and steam room which you can access ahead of a treatment and the ammenities were great. The hotel and restaurant also looked both beautiful and authentic and worth looking into.

We spent Christmas eve and Day and it was amazing. From check-in to check out the staff was amazing. The rooms were spacious and beautiful and the pool and open courtyard area were great places to just relax and enjoy the views of the volcanos. I would recommend this place to anyone and can't wait to go back.

From check in to check out this hotel was amazing! Shout out to Blanca at the reception desk for helping us consolidate our reservations without checking in and out after we decided to add a day. The cleaning staff kept our room neat and tidy. The view from the pool of Fuego is incredible! The hotel is located in a central area but its not noisy. The bed was super comfortable. Shower spacious. Fire place in the room was an added bonus! The property itself is pristine. We didnt eat at the restaurant but the drinks were on point. Would 100% stay here again if back in Antigua.
