Porta Hotel Antigua

The hotel is beautiful and within walking distance to everything you want to see. The pool is relaxing and tropical. The spa service was excellent and easy to schedule. The rooms are large and clean. The restaurant food is authentic and tasty. The staff is superb. I made a mistake booking my room they fixed my problem with ease and professionalism. My son also got food poisoning - not from the hotel- and the staff sent someone to purchase medication at 2:00 am! Delivery was without 20 minutes. Top notch staff.

Porta Hotel Antigua is by far the best Hotel in Antigua, Guatemala, not only for its architecture, spectacular location, delicious restaurant, and service. Treat yourself: stay here. Trust me, you will love it.

I booked a premium and they gave me a garden room in a dark basement! The front desk didnt even tell me. I figured it out myself. If I never noticed, they wouldnt of said anything. This is dishonest. The rate they are charging me is the same and not even adjusted. I added breakfast but was told it was not added. ITS IN THE CONFIRMATION! There are many other mistakes. The location and city are amazing but unfortunately, the hotel is not run professionally. Bad service at the bar. Sat and no one came to take order. They just stand at bar talking.

I had a very negative experience with Porta Hotel. Upon check in, they switched my passport and my friend’s passport when returning them to us and unfortunately we did not realize this until it was too late and one of us was at the airport about to depart from the country. This situation took roughly 5 hours in Ubers to deal with, and led to my friend missing her flight and having to pay nearly $700 for a replacement flight. We then met with the hotel and they showed us the footage from check in where it was very clear I was being handed my friend’s passport, but the hotel did not take any responsibility their mistake, blamed it on us, and refused to compensate us for any of the costs associated with the mistake. I will not be staying here again and I would not recommend others stay here because if anything goes wrong the customer service / administrative staff will not work with you.

Beautiful grounds with a heated pool and restaurant. Located within walking distance of town square, restaurants and nightlife. Rooms were very clean and well taken care of. Staff was friendly and accomodating. Would definitely recommend and stay here again!
