Beautiful hotel, right in the heart of the city. The views of the acropolis from the rooftop bar and infinity pool are breathtaking and something I’ll remember forever. The hotel is perfectly taken care of with excellent service and I’d highly recommend it to anyone looking for a beautiful spot in central Athens.

The moment the hotel door opens you are welcomed into Dolli-world, a feast for all senses. Beautiful architecture and a beautifully laid out salon which functions as art gallery, all-day patisserie and reception greet you, with the phenomenal concierge/reception team led by the wonderful Evrianthi. Every member of the Dolli team provides a superb service, welcoming, helpful and really friendly whoever you are and perfectly walking that difficult line of servicing your needs, without being intrusive. The rooms are equally beautiful, chic, comfortable and with gorgeous little touches, like a whole cake on arrival! The rooftop restaurant and pool area with breathtaking views over the Acropolis are, well, simply breathtaking. Absolutely gorgeous. The sublime service and food did this beautiful space full justice. This is a hotel made for superlatives, but what makes it so special is its soul and this is really down to the staff. There are too many to mention but thanks to each and every one, with special mention for Evrianthi, Annick, Elenis(2)!, the lovely breakfast restaurant manager, Danai, Nikos, George, just a few of the wonderful people who looked after us from the doormen, bar, concierge, reception and restaurant. Expensive? Yes. Worth it? Unquestionably!

A stunning 5 star boutique hotel in the heart of the best district in Athens. This hotel is an oasis of calm in the heart of the tourist district. Beautiful rooms with high ceilings, comfortable beds and excellent bathrooms. The top floor with small infinity pool and restaurant bar is stunning and has the ultimate A list view of the Acropolis. The staff are attentive and friendly providing great service. Housekeeping kept the rooms well refreshed and well stocked with water etc. For a visit to Athens I can’t imagine there can be a better option

It’s taken me a day to calm down after our horrendous experience at the Dolli. We were there for a few nights in an Athenian room and I think we slept a total of 10 hours across the stay. I have no idea where these glowing reviews are coming from but only book this hotel if you enjoy LOUD music until midnight from multiple venues across the road, and much later at the weekend. Also only book it if you enjoy being woken by several huge rubbish trucks, and the huge glass bottle banks across the road being emptied for 40m at 2am. There is zero point even being a hotel at all, whether 1* or 5*, if guests can’t get any sleep because the street noise is so bad! The rooms are so laughably small you can barely move, and frankly amenities such as the hairdryer, toiletries, storage situation etc are really cheap and low quality for a supposed 5*. Check out is also at 11am and not 12pm like every other 5*, and they are so greedy and keen to turn a profit that they book up the rooms one after the other so any flexibility isn’t possible. Don’t be fooled by the pool deck - it’s tiny and can accommodate 6 groups of 4 for the whole hotel and feels full when 3 are up there. The whole space feels really cramped and that’s because Grecotel have clearly been very greedy and have stuffed as many rooms as possible in per floor. We spoke to one guests whose toilet was in their shower! A previous reviewer here mentioned the noise in January of this year in their review- the staff replied that extra sound proofing is being looked into- well, here to say that hasn’t happened and I doubt it will be. Also, the staff are pleasant enough but hopelessly inexperienced and only interested in you if you are a guest staying in a suite or a very large tipper. This is primarily because all client facing staff are under 35 and come across really inexperienced. Never in my life have I been so excited to try a hotel and experienced such a let-down. Just go to The GB where it might be less “design-led” but at least they take care of their guests properly and you have more than just one restaurant and a small lobby bar to take refreshment from. I really wish places like this would just call themselves boutique 4* and be honest and not try to charge the same as huge hotels with top class amenities and fully appointed rooms. It’s just such disappointing behaviour.
