Less than an hour outside Athens, surrounded on three sides by the warm aquamarine waters of the Aegean Sea, Grand Resort Lagonissi exudes an air of jet-set savoir-faire. In a beachfront bungalow, whose private terrace leads directly to the shore, you'll be treated to the best of resort living. Indulge with dozens of spa treatments and regional al fresco dining at Ouzeri, perched artfully on the tip of the Lagonissi Peninsula. Here, you'll be ideally situated to enjoy all the cultural treasures and outdoor adventures the Attica region has to offer.

Like most of the reviews suggest, the resort is beautiful, views are spectacular, and the breakfast is wonderful. It is a bit dated though and could use some upgrades- especially in the bathrooms (think old tvs, spas with lots of plastic buttons, and wood floors that need some replacement). The reason for the lower rating - we had family friends of 4 who stopped by in the late afternoon to visit with us for 1 hour as they happened to be in the area. Although we had a villa with 3 rooms, and the family was dressed up to meet us for a drink in the lobby bar, the hotel wouldn’t let them in, claiming they were at capacity. They told us we had to go to the public beach, which the other family couldn’t do because they were not in swimwear. It was disappointing, since none of us live in Greece and don’t see each other regularly. Yet, at the same time, resort allows 15 twenty-five year olds share 4 beach chairs and party. Very poor customer service.

This place feels like a former four or possibly five star resort that has fallen on hard times and now skimps on maintenance to preserve margin. The rooms in the main building are small and dated, with frayed slipcovers and stained carpets. Some have visible mold. The bathrooms are motel-like and cramped, lacking towel bars and other basic amenities one would expect at a “luxury” resort. The water sports activities are obnoxiously expensive so, guess what, no one does them! The fitness room smells of strange disinfectant. There is a charge for basic water at the beach, and no changing area or locker room facilities. The restaurants are expensive. If you enjoy cigar smoke wafting in your face while waiting more than an hour for basic food to be served, the beach bar is your place. Overall, a disappointment.

What a great place to decompress after 20hrs of travel. Stayed just 2 nights, but we were treated like royalty. The staff was just amazing, so helpful and friendly. The room, a sunset beach bungalow, was spacious. Did take a day to figure out all the lighting controls. Both of the main restaurants (Captains Table and Galazia Akti) had inspired menus and the food and service was beyond expectations. Both settings were spectacular. The breakfast was lavish and tables on the deck had a view of the sea. The beachside Mediterraneo was a great nibble while sunbathing. Me and my wife both agree that this was defiantly what we needed to start a long holiday.

Fab location and beach not far from athens airport. The food was good, lunch at the greek restaurant by the beach is a must. The hotel grounds are well maintained with lots of gardens and trees. Overall, a great hotel for relaxation with friendly staff
