Hotel Grande Bretagne, a Luxury Collection Hotel, Athens

I have stayed here before and each time I come back the level of service is onnpar or better than before. The rooms are opulent (maybe too much so) but everything is perfect. The bedding, linens and amenities are 5* all the way. The service is impeccable and the staff never says no to any request. The spa and pool are an oasis and I spent hf the afternoon trying all the different steam rooms and saunas. This is still the best hotel in Athens.

The afternoon tea in Grande Bretagne is addressed to people who have never had afternoon english tea before in their lives! ONE miserable finger sandwich, scones that only the chef recognizes as scones, clotted cream frozen and tasteless and sweets,sweets and sweets! The Earl Grey had neither aroma nor taste.

Still a nice hotel but lost some Charm…..Food still not pretty well .thats maybe that there is not much going on on the Restaurants…. The breakfast ist amazing! very nice!! Rooms are alreday getting older and older…. Still all is very clean. Spa is very nice and all are very professionell and friendly.…the indoor Pool water temperature is too cold (I think 27 degrees), and all around that indoor Pool Looks more like in an old nursing home Institution and the air is also very cold in there...so not really cosy. maybe that's the reason I never so people there.

Used points for a regular room, but was upgraded to a suite on the butler floor due my status in Bonvoy (posting just to show folks upgrades actually do happen still). It’s simply a beautiful hotel, with much historical significance to Athens. The Nazi’s used the hotel as HQ during the occupation, then the British did similarly once Greece was freed. Definitely select breakfast as an arrival choice, the top floor restaurant is very good and views are spectacular. Christina was an excellent server for breakfast. I highly recommend this hotel and shall return again,

I just had another memorable stat at this magnificent Hotel Last year I was there to celebrate my birthday and I am just back this year to celebrate my birthday too and we had exactly the same wonderful service like last time . Our beautiful Suite was located like last year on the butler Floor I highly recommend to spoil yourself and reserve a Suite . Eri , she is Buttler Service Manager is always wonderful at organizing everything for you during your stay , She is into the smallest details to organize my preferences she always make our stay memorable  She is very professional and a very warm lady. It is always a pleasure to meet her. SHE IS DEFINITELY A PEARL for the hotel .Her assistant Olga and George and Pavlos are doing their best to make your stay smooth and comfortable. What a nice surprise to discover the new decoration of the roof too restaurant where we had the opportunity to have breakfast every morning, and once again  Savvas  He is Breakfast Manager is providing as always an UNIQUE SERVICE, always helpful, and he is amazing to remember  since my last stay all my culinary preferences, he is really creating an amazing atmosphere during breakfast  He ensures that all the guests receive a fantastic service. He and his team are doing an exceptional job. I would also like to name  two breakfast teams in particular Andrew and Christos who are particularly extremely kind, Savvas and his team are definitely honoring the image of this establishment. The winter Garden restaurant is absolutely gorgeous, beautiful decor .   I already booked my next 2 stays In December with my two older sisters and a friend to celebrate the New Year’s Eve And in February 2025 we can’t wait to come back. Thank you once again to the entire Team , for making our stay memorable , all The teams from different departments are really very professional and all very friendly with good manners. Highly recommend
